I'm beyond happy with my experience with Artistic Stairs. Steve was my sales representative. I was honestly a first timer on this project. He guided me through the process and presented me with the project cost. Although there was an 8 week wait for installation (thank u Covid), I waited sort of patiently. I received a call on my installation date and low and behold, George showed up promptly at 8am to start the scheduled installation.
When I say George is an installer, that's just not right, he is an artist. My rails and posts are so incredibly perfect I can't believe it I highly highly recommend this company to anyone looking to update their current home or new build. I'm obsessed with this amazing update!

Artistic Stairs does stair railings for Fulton. The stain finish on the banister and balusters in our new build was obviously done in a hurry. There were dried runs, rough spots that weren't sanded, and bare spots that were missed completely. Fulton scheduled them to come out and touch up the work. The tech assured me he would address the entire rail.
He was rushed and apparently running late to his next appointment. He asked me to sign the work order on his way out. My hands were full with the kids so I asked him if he had indeed checked the entire rail, specifically the spots that had been marked with painters tape. He assured me he had. He was very assertive about needing to be on his way and I didn't feel comfortable making him wait.
That was my mistake. After he left I discovered bare spots that he had not addressed as well as scratches on the finish. I asked Fulton if they would send them back out to finish what was missed. They said the response they got from Artistic Stairs was that I had signed the work order so they were under no obligation to come back out. I am very disappointed in the quality of work, attention to detail, and level of customer service.
This is a brand new stair rail. I only attached two pictures of the bare spots but the issue is repeated where the baluster meets the rail half the way up. I would have hoped they would take more pride in their product and care in my home. The original job was unprofessional and the follow-up wasn't any better. This company doesn't stand behind their work.

Artistic Stairs did an amazing job on our stairs. From my first call when I spoke with Steve and he offered to stay late at their showroom so my husband and I could come and look at their models after work, I felt good about the company. After we discussed what we wanted, and received some good advice from Steve, they sent someone to the house to measure. Can't remember his name but he was very nice.
The installer came on the day when they said he would (but AS didn't give me a time of arrival and the guy didn't call on his way, which I would have appreciated). His name was Arthur and he was very impressive. Nice and polite and clean, but most of all, really good at his job. We paid for half of the work when we ordered and half after completion. Would definitely recommend.

I'm adding one more star because the original curved staircase AS put in my Continental home back in 1992 are beautiful and held up well. I called them this May(2019) for an estimate to modernize my now outdated design. I got a couple emails in May promising they would get back to me, I sent them a couple to remind them I was still waiting. It's now the end of July and haven't heard a word from them. Funny way to do business. So I went elsewhere.

We bought a new Pulte home that had a bannister installed by Artistic Stairs, after moving in we noticed that there are some of the square spindles that are twisted (not installed square with the upper and lower pieces they attach to) also they are not installed in a straight line (they zig zag). So we mentioned to our builders superintendent and he has made appointments for repairs but now they have not shown up for 3 appointments. It's not super horrible installation but it is obvious to the naked eye and when you spend $400k on a house you expect good workmanship.
Really you should get good workmanship no matter what the final price is. Nonetheless, I indirectly paid this company to do work on my house and they are not following through with their customer service.

Didn't finish the job! This company was the worst subcontractor during our remodel. No communication. Don't expect detailed drawings, don't expect them to listen to your own drawings/photos to say they understand what you're hoping for. It took them 3 months to figure out how to make a 90-degree turn with our railing. Two weeks to get one stain sample, not three.
And they kept sending the wrong sample. It took 4 months total to put a simple stair railing in and we're having someone else stain it because they still can't figure out how to produce an accurate stain (hint: stop using green-base stain when we're wanting warm oak - not rocket science). Even 4 months later when they finally brought the railing - it's too thick and doesn't match the spindles.
We asked them to plane it down 1/2 an inch and they refused to take it back to the shop and just left it here in my garage! They literally did 80% of the work, took 4x as long and then quit without finishing. Unacceptable. It's the opposite of "artistic". Other reviews on Google say they're "expensive but worth it". That's just plain wrong when they can't handle basic woodworking skills.
Avoid this company and if you're working with a contractor - ask who their stairs sub is first and demand a different company if they mention this unprofessional company.

OK gang here is the real skinny on Artistic Stair. Yes they are not cheap.but well worth the money. We have had contractors at our home for the past three months renovating the entire home. Artistic Stair was by far the most professional, attention to detail contractors that we have ever used. I noticed that most of the folks that reviewed them poorly seem to be looking for a quick stair case.
If you are looking for quick and dirty.these are not your guys. If you are like me.looking for a show piece.then look no further. Dave and Paul and the rest of the field guys are the real deal. They are respectful and have a high attention to detail and clean up every day before they go home. Mike the project manager/sales.was very honest with the time frame and was fair with the pricing.
Please keep in mind that these craftsmen are "finish" carpenters.not the run of the mill carpenters. They are going to take the time to ensure you have a master piece. My only complaint is that they do not do other wood work like doors, floors etc.

I would not recommend this company. We experienced problem after problem from day one. Our project is still not done after months. It was supposed to take 8 days. I thought we were finally going to be done this week but they didn't show up for the scheduled appointment. I can't get them to complete the finish work which has taken several failed attempts. The attention to detail is not there. The customer service is horrible. Look elsewhere for your remodel.

Mike and his crew were fantastic at installing a new set of stair rails in our condo. It wasn't a normal install because of old construction. Their experience and craftsmanship made it look like it has always been there. His crew was always on time, neat. and cleaned up well before they left. That is always appreciated on a job site. Good Job!

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to Artistic Stairs. Russ came out to the house and looked over the job and got me an estimate and a digital rendering within the promised timeline. What was even better - the job was completed to the dollar amount quoted and matched the existing railing work on the stairs beautifully. The workers were diligent, friendly and frankly worked their butts off.
It shows in the quality of the finished product. Great job! Thank you! (Note: the location on Superior isn't a huge showroom or anything; it does have samples though. I'd recommend giving a call first.)
