I was very impressed with the professionalism, kindness and promptness that was provided to me! Connor worked on our septic and he couldn't have been any nicer. Everyone from the woman who answers the calls to the technician that worked at our house were awesome! Totally recommend them! Service: Sewer repair

When I first contracted Lakeside Electric and Septic Services, they were punctual, friendly and communicative. The three things I look for when looking for a business. I was excited to get the work I needed done and also to find a trusted Electrician in my area. However, the communication and friendliness quickly diminished after the first interaction.
We had multiple projects needing completed and we asked them to do a site survey and then provide a quote so that we could move forward. First day: I asked that a quote be provided before any work be completed. The manager said "No worries, we charge a set fee to go out there and we will let you know once the guys see what needs to be done. " The manager confirmed that this would be done and he would contact me after they took a look.
I did not hear anything other than a phone call from Electricians on site (they were very professional!) They spoke with me about ideas on the work that needed to be done. After not being contacted later in that day, I found out they spent a the day installing 2 ceiling fans (although they were higher up and were probably more difficult than a normal ceiling fan).
The part that was outside of what we agreed on was the commitment to provide a cost estimate before performing work. The electricians were very friendly, professional the quality of the work that was completed was good! However, was did not jive with me was that I was not provided a quote before performing work as promised. This cost ~$1100.00 in which was never quoted to me nor discussed over the phone.
I asked multiple times for quote before completing the work and was ignored. People make mistakes and were all human, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt that there was a potential miscommunication with the first visit, so we asked that all work be stopped as we were concerned with a cost moving forward because we were never given a quote or an opportunity to approve the pricing for the remainder of the work.
After asking for a quote for the remaining work and continuing to call for weeks and being told day after day we would get a call back, we continued to be told by the customer service rep and manager (we'd sometimes talk directly with him) that they would get back to us today or tomorrow. To give you perspective, we had two people calling almost everyday to see if we could get in contact and figure out what was going on.
When we did get the opportunity to speak with the manager and explain our worries; we asked how much the remaining work would be, he stated "bring all that you got" to indicate that the cost would be high, but he would not provide a quote. While I'm sure he was being humorous and referring to the cost being an expensive job, due to him not being transparent on the cost, I started to get uneasy on with the deal.
After what seemed to be "begging" him for a quote, I became stern to express that we required a cost estimate before anything were to move forward. In response, he stated he worked on Time and Materials and would let me know how much it would cost once the work is done. Like anyone, we did not want to complete work without knowing the cost. After that conversation and after hounding them for weeks, they finally sent a quote.
By that time, we realized this was not the company for us based on the lack of following up on their commitments and what we perceived to be a lack of transparency in cost. I just wanted to take the time to warn potential customers that you are taking a risk doing business with this company. I did not feel like they were focused on the customer. They seemed to have a lot going on. Also, it seems that there are great people working here, but overall company ops needs a better focus on customer communication and transparency.
I would have loved to speak and work this through to get the work completed, but we lost faith. Good luck in finding a good electrician and good luck to Lakeside in improving on the things that matter the most to customers. Wishing you all the best in your business!

I have used them before and had great service, but quality has gone down hill. They have gone from a well run company to a fiasco. Hired them to inspect septic, inspect the well, and pump the septic system. They charged me nearly twice the price of what they quoted (quote was for about $850 and they charged over $1,400), didn't show up on the day they were scheduled, wouldn't respond to calls, have an email box and voicemail that's full, and didn't even inspect the well. Terrible customer service, zero response from the owner, and ridiculous charges.

Showed up on short notice and gave me a great price! Since I called for an emergency tank cleaning I had to wait my turn. (Par for course). However, George the tank driver still came out to the house after he completed all his scheduled jobs! Thank you George. Schedule in advance before your tank overflows. The tank driver I got was young but enthusiastic. Did a great job.
Please tip these guys when you can. They have a sh*tty job and perform a essential service! Lakeside Electric & Septic currently honors a UVA employee discount, so ask for it up front before you book the job.

Reached out to Lakeside Electric & Septic on Tuesday due to a backed up septic and they were here the next day. From the phone call to make the appointment to the young man who serviced our septic they were all very helpful and courteous. The people on the phone were knowledgeable and very nice. The young man was excellent! He even explained everything to a very curious 4 year old. 5 star all the way! Thank you!

Was told I would receive a call "right back" waited 3 business days, called back. They did have the item I needed in stock, while waiting for a price someone in the back ground told the person on the phone that the item in question that was in stock for sale was only sold if they did the install. so they have things for sale but won't sell them unless they are the company charging the service call and install?
It's a simple item. Why do you want to rip your customers off like that? Talk about not being there for their small town customers. Will continue to do my business with the local big box stores.

Appointment made for 10:30 am, Fri Mar 27, to do estimate for electrical work at residence in Lake Anna area. No show. Called at 11 am and left a message. When call was returned at 11:05, person acted like they had no knowledge of the appointment. Then advised that they'd be here in 45 minutes. Unacceptable not to even call and say they'd be late. Serves as a indicator of the service, so would never trust them to actually do work. Will find another business.
