First time having a chimney inspection and cleaning, Dan was very kind and throughly described my whole set up. Even called back the next day to make sure I'd totally understood one part of it. Even during the busy season they got me on a waiting list and quickly contacted when spots opened up. Thank you!

Had a gas insert installed by Hearth and Home. Rob and his crew came in reviewed our fireplace layout and set to work. They put down floor covers in the area where they were going to be working. They asked me a couple of questions to make sure the installation was just the way we wanted it. They took the time to explain the remote control, and went over safety regarding the gas shutoff.
They also showed me how the stove could still work without power (nice to know). On the "outside" they re-sealed the top of the chimney (looks like it was always that way). They cleaned up after their work and recommended an inspection in a years time just to make sure that the insert was operating at peak efficiency. All in all good all around experience, would definately recommend them.

I am so glad I purchased my wood stove from Hearth & Home. I just had my year anniversary stove check/cleaning. The technicians were very considerate in their manner and respectful to my home while they were here. We ended up having a warranty issue for which the part was immediately ordered and replaced in a time frame that exceeded my expectations. The communication I experienced with the technicians and office staff was pleasant and informative. Thanks Heath & Home!

EDIT (April 9, 2021) Debbie the owner of hearth and home reached out to me after my google review. She apologized on multiple occasions, and has been in contact with me in delays with the part needed to fix my fireplace. She has been wonderful to talk to on the phone, and she offered to fix the fireplace for free from my experience. I offered to pay for the part, and take the service call for free which we agreed was a fair deal. Covid has hit many industries, and hers is no different.
She spent a lot of time looking herself to find the part for my fireplace it needs. I can't fault her for the delays that the pandemic has caused. I have never been so annoyed at a company in 35 years. I called in October 2020 to get my fireplace repaired. Earliest they could come was new years day. No problem. The guy who showed up was great, but all he did was clean it, said he couldn't repair it because we needed a part they had to order.
I tried to PAY THEM and he couldnt accept money, and someone from the office would call. Fast forward two days later I call them to pay and schedule service. The lady who answered the phone said they were closed and couldn't take payment. Someone would call me later. Now, come February 2021, I have still not had a call or repair man come fix my fireplace. Hearth and Home calls me "to clean up old invoices" I explain to the same lady who I tried to pay earlier in the year that they STILL have not called me.
She apologizes, and sees my invoice and the part needed to fix my fireplace. She says someone from service will call me first thing in the morning. Now it is March 8th, 2021. I paid almost $200 to have my fireplaced cleaned and told I needed a part, and have YET to have it fixed. What a great winter its been. DO NOT CONTACT THIS PLACE. Get your work done by professionals off the island.
Their office is not organized, and even if you call and beg to pay them, its like they don't want the money. The owner of Hearth and Home can contact me. You guys have my information.

We had a wonderful experience purchasing a wood burning insert from Hearth & Home. Jeanette took the time to help us make the right choice in type of insert, and has offered a ton of support in helping us make sure we're using it correctly. The installers were fantastic - clean, careful, efficient, polite, and did excellent work with a weirdly-shaped fireplace with old brick. We really appreciate having Hearth & Home as a resource going forward - they really know their stuff and are committed to making sure we get the most out of our insert.

We purchased our Blaze King Sirocco 30 from Hearth and Home in 2017. They are the nearest dealer of Blaze King to where we live and I'm glad we found them! Jeanette was very helpful from start to finish in understanding the stove and scheduling the install. We have been very happy with the even heating and performance up to this season. After consulting with Jeanette and investigating all the performance related issues found that the combuster, under warranty, was the issue. Blaze King sent us a new combuster which was easy to both remove and install as a home owner.
I really appreciated the fact that Jeanette helped us diagnose our problem and advocate for us in getting our stove back to proper functioning. It now is back to full operational integrity and we love it. It was really helpful that Jeanette uses the same stove in their home. We look forward to years of excellent performance and appreciate Blaze King and Hearth and Home standing behind their products. I would recommend Hearth and Home.

We cannot say enough good things about Hearth and Home. They installed a beautiful fireplace conversion system from wood to propane at our home, and they recently were called upon to tune it up, which they did very promptly. Rob, the technician, was sweet and very skilled, and it took him all of fifteen minutes to fix our problem. And Jeanette, the sales manager, was very nice and prompt and helped us solve the problem. I would highly recommend their services. Peter Rehon

I purchased my propane stove from Hearth & Home in 2019. At the time, I was impressed by how helpful, informative, and kind they all were. They helped me figure out what stove would best suit my needs with generous attentiveness. I'd talked to a few places off-island and did not receive the same level of helpfulness and transparency. Hearth & Home's prices were also better.
So I ordered through them. The service was arranged, the installers came as scheduled and followed through with the installation. They were efficient, friendly, respectful of my home, cleaned up after themselves and carefully explained to me everything I need to know, taking ample time to answer questions. The stove was installed during the summer so I didn't use it for a number of months.
By the time I did use it, I forgot that it had a blower, so never tried to use that function. Recently, I was at a friend's who has exactly the same stove and realize hers had a blower. I went home, discovered mine appeared to have one as well, but couldn't get it to work. Confused, I recontacted the Hearth & Home. They promptly scheduled a visit.
Once again, the service technicians were efficient, friendly, and careful (with shoe coverings and face masks) in my home. They fixed the problem and left. A few days later I got a bill in the mail. When I read the comments, I saw it said the issue was due to an error made during installation. It seemed odd. The issue was their mistake in the first place, but I was getting billed for the visit?
So here is why they get a 5-star review from me despite a couple of mistakes. Anyone can make a mistake. It's what you do about it, how you follow through, how you strive to make things right that counts. First of all, I'd like to note that the service people ACKNOWLEDGED in their write-up that the issue was an error in installation, which not everyone would do. Second, when I called Hearth & Home to try and understand the bill, I was immediately given to the owner of the company. So, no run-around.
And finally, the owner was utterly kind, gracious, took responsibility for the error in billing, said she would follow through with the service technicians to ensure this sort of mistake would not happen again to anyone else and apologized for everything. There was no defensiveness, there were no excuses and I didn't have to ask for any of it. It was just handed to me. This, people, is what excellent customer service looks like. This business deserves to be supported!

The two guys from Hearth and Home showed up right on time. They were very efficient, friendly, and clean putting blankets on our new flooring and cleaning out the wood stove and chimney dirt that came down from above. After recommending some future chimney work needed next summer, they presented the invoice and said I could call the office to pay via credit card which I did soon after they left. I recommend H&H highly and will use their services again next year!

Home sellers beware. Scheduled a gas fireplace inspection in support of a pending house sale. Never had an issue in the 10 years of fireplace use until Hearth & Home came to the house. Unfortunately I was at work during the actual inspection but came home to the following list of issues in the work order left behind: - Pilot light failure - zero clearance seal failure - CO2 leak - residue build up Upon investigation of the unit when I returned home I discovered that the technicians broke the tube leading up to the pilot light and the zero clearance seal towards the top of the fireplace was in pieces.
In the 10 years of residence not once had the CO2 detectors signaled any hint of detection of CO2. Upon investigation regarding the "residue build up", I learned it is a completely normal occurence that is a result of an additive that cascade natural gas uses that produces the "sulfur like smell" if you have a leak. The kicker in all this is that the Hearth and Home sent me an estimate stating that it will cost me $8300.00 to conduct the needed repairs (completely new system) to fix the issues they "discovered". (that $8300 estimate did not include the necessary finish work that would be required for drywall and wood work).
After taking pictures and proving to the owner of Hearth and Home that their technician is the one that was responsible for the pilot light issue (couldn't prove seal failure issue but given the pilot light proof and obviousness of the seal being in pieces it was clear to me), the owner took responsibility for the technician's "work" and offered to conduct the pilot light repair.
I explained that no one associated with Hearth and Home would be allowed in my house again and I conducted the repairs myself and scheduled another inspection with a different heating company. The result of that inspection: "fireplace is a perfect working order". Utilizing Hearth and Home could have cost me $10,000+ if I followed their completely unnecessary recomendation for repair/replacement for the damages that their technician was responsible for, the unfounded claim of a CO2 leak and "residue build up".

Could not be anymore dissatisfied with this service. The staff is rude and unhelpful. We were told that the installers would be able to take care of everything involved in installation of the fireplace and surround, and they were not. Then, the installers (though professional upon first installation) did not install the four sided surround that i asked for, and was told I was going to receive, and paid for.
Upon questioning why we didn't receive the service that we were paying for, a staff member complained about the attitude they were receiving from us. Next, (because it only gets better from here, folks), I emailed their office personnel not once, but twice before I received a response. I gave them two options: either give me the product/service that I was paying for, or give me back my deposit and pick up your equipment.
They responded almost a month later offering to fix it. Then two weeks after that (now a month and a half after it was supposed to have been installed correctly the first time), the installers came back. They came back unprepared and cutting metal freehand in my yard, as you can see in the pictures below. The work was sloppy, and the effort was minimal. Overall, this company is generally disappointing.
No one seems to really know what they're doing, and the services that they offer are suffering because of that. I would NOT recommend going through them if you would like a professional experience.

My wife and I recently purchased a gas fireplace at Hearth & Home. We wanted a custom stone and gas fireplace built in our living room. All our questions were answered professionally and with great product knowledge. Debi was a pleasure to work with and made for a great experience. I'd highly recommend Hearth & Home!

I was required to have the wood stove inspected and cleaned when I moved out of a rental house this past weekend. I booked Hearth & Home. They could get the key from rental mgmt and go out to the house while I was at work, which was convenient. They gave one price for an inspection+cleaning, and then said if it didn't need cleaning, they'd knock off $25.
I hadn't used the wood stove too much, maybe once every week or two in the winters only, but hey, over 3.5 years, maybe that'd build up. And hey, you never know when people will charge you just because they can. I cleaned out the wood stove best I could, and lo and behold, they didn't charge me for cleaning! It's so nice to encounter honest people. Thanks, Hearth & Home.
