I have used Millennium for many years now. I agreed last year to enter the 2 year contract. This will be the last. They never really fix the problem the first time and the add on charges are annoying. My pool is in need of updated tile and coping and I am interested in renovation, but given the quality and cost of their maintenance, I am looking for other companies.
If anyone has a service company or renovation company they would recommend, I would be interested. Also need to get a replacement loop loc cover. Again, recommendations would be appreciated. The bottom line, Millennium is driving me nuts.

I have never posted a review before this is how bad they were! Scheduled my annual opening (we have used them before.) They came out and all they did was remove the top, drop chemicals and skim the top. (For $500) I called to ask if they would be coming back to clean the bottom which was covered in leaves and dirt and they did not return my call. I called back again and they said I would have to pay for an additional cleaning and that they had already cleaned my pool.

Update - after posting this review I received an email from Amber, the manager, within hours of this review. We spoke the following day and I received a refund for the first visit, where they didn't actually repair the heater and the disposal fee, since they didn't actually dispose of anything. Amber was very professional, she obviously knows how to treat customers to retain their business, unlike the person I spoke to that told me they are charging everyone a disposal fee since COVID is raising prices.

Best team to get your pool up and running smoothly and talking you through any equipment repairs, replacement or upgrades. Responsive, fair, thorough and they seem to genuinely care about getting and keeping your pool swimmable! Jermaine was a pleasure to work with for the opening this year! Great staff all around. Thanks for the great service.

They renovated our pool, which turned out pretty good. Price was competitive. However, their ongoing pool service/maintenance was not great and they'd always send someone new, who didn't know the pool set up and had consistently slow response times. We ended up switching to another pool co and Millennium never bothered to ask why or try to fix the situation.

Very unprofessional work opening my pool. They barely removed debris from the pool, did not vacuum the pool and to top it all off they damaged my hot tub cover treating it poorly while putting it away. Definitely did not get my money's worth. Extremely disappointed in the quality of work. If I could only post a picture here of how awful my pool looked when they "opened" it.

I cannot say enough about the staff. We have been w/Millennium now for 7 seasons. We use their opening/closing services, repair services, and have purchased a gas heater, a Loop-loc cover, and most recently had them re-plaster our pool and add new LED lighting. Rarely does any job go perfect. And, with the plaster job, there were a few kinks that were easily ironed out w/quick response and communication by the GM, Kirk and his support staff. Kirk was extremely knowledgeable and very accessible. At one point he said we could contact him any time, even by smoke signals! Thanks Kirk and Team.looking forward to another great season! My Property Managers and Staff have worked with Millennium Pool Service for over 30 years. They have handled projects for our client properties, from minor maintenance and repair, to major capital improvements costing 6 figures. In all cases Millennium has demonstrated the expertise and care we would expect from one of the Washington Area's leading pool specialists. I am happy to provide them with a stalwart reference for many years of fine service.

Millennium Pools did a great job installing a new liner and salt water chlorinator. Milo and team were very professional, was able to answer every question, and took the time to make sure we knew exactly how to use the system. He even provided care tips. If you need work done on your pool, I highly recommend them!

Millennium has been servicing our pool for 7 years. Initially, everything was a bit rough -- mainly because the pool equipment was in poor shape after years of neglect. Even then, Millennium tried to ensure that the pool was perfect every week, addressing weird problems, diagnosing some blocked lines, etc. We were always impressed with their sincere attempts to make it great, even when the equipment was working against them.
We changed a few things (at our choice, not their request) and have had a flawless season with them, again. This year has been the best yet. The tech assigned to our house (initials JD) did an OUTSTANDING job, even going so far as to use a leafblower to clean off our deck furniture for us! He was always cheery, on time, and eager to help -- no matter how weird the problem. The folks in the office are equally great; scheduling is easy, and administratively they're flawless. Highly recommend them!

I have owned an inground pool and spa for more than 24 years and recently found myself in a position where I decided it was time to look for a new pool service that would open my pool and spa each summer, provide maintenance and then close the pool and spa at the end of the summer. After researching local pool services, Millenium Pool Service was at the top of my husbands list of prospective pool services due to good reviews he'd read online.
We have both tried to contact Millennium Pool Service repeatedly over the past few weeks, we've called and left messages, written emails, submitted a request through their website and requested more info via angies list and haven't received a single response. I understand companies get busy this time of year, but NO RESPONSE at all is ridiculous.
If they are too busy to take new clients it would've been nice if they would've written that on their website, or they could've at least told the women I spoke with the two times I was able to get someone on the phone to politely inform inquiring customers that they are overloaded and don't have time to take on new work. Instead the two times I called, I was told to call a man named Mr. Keigel for a more accurate quote.
Well we've called, left voice mail messages, emails etc. and no one will call back, write back - NOTHING. We wasted all that time thinking that a company with good reviews would obviously respond shortly and we'd be on our way to swimming in our pool in no time only to be sitting here more than two weeks later, in the hot virginia summer and having to start our search all over again - clearly a lesson was learned - good reviews aren't always accurate.

Used them for 4 years and for the first two years they were ok. However the guy that used to manage my pool opening closing started working on his own side business and didn't oversee the crew opening/closing my pool. The would send people that didn't know about my pool system and they started pushing the winter leaves and debris into my main suction system where it blocked my system creating loss of prime in my pumps.
This caused my pumped to overhead and busted my pipes and pumps costing me thousands in them repairing their own mistakes. It took me another two vendors inspecting this issue that they found out my main suction lines were blocked by Millennium incompetent crew pushing leaves into them during opening and "cleaning" instead of what I had paid them for which was to vacuuming the pool BEFORE turning the pumps on.
When I brought this up to them this season they decided to lie to me and say they don't have time for my pool til end of summer instead of being a professional and fixing their own mistakes. Be careful with these outfit.my friend that used them in the past dropped them as well on the complaint.

After a nightmare with another local pool installer we had to call around to see whom would even come out and look at the items that were broken along with to maintain for opening & closings etc. We have had nothing but wonderful experiences with these guys and gals. They have always been a pleasure to deal with from when I call to make an appt. all the way to coming out to get the pool squarEd away.
I wish I knew their names but honestly they must all be nice cause every time it's been a smooth process. We live in Bethesda just in case they have a few locations.thanks guys

I've been using Millennium pools for a commercial pool that I manage for the last two years, and they are responsive and creative in problem-solving. Recently Daniel Ostrow was out to replace a pump motor and also troubleshoot some air leaks, and was able to solve some problems we have been trying to fix ourselves for a while.

Petar and Tim came to close our pool today. They were friendly, professional and very efficient. This was our first year with this pool service, and the opening didn't go well since it was early in the season and the water was too cold to adjust the chemicals, so we struggled with getting the balance. We won't make that mistake again, so we'll schedule in May. I hope Millenium sends them back to open the pool. Thanks, guys.

Our experience with Millennium Pool Services has been the BEST ever. We were left pretty high and dry by our previous pool service - so we started looking for service the week of Memorial Day - which is considered very late in the season. Several companies could not even accommodate our request. But Millennium came through. They came right away, assessed what needed to be done, scheduled their crews, followed through with most excellent work on the repair and refurbishment of our pool.
Their staff is responsive, on time and pro-active in helping us figure out what needs to be done. Their work product is thorough. It has been a total pleasure working with them and their terrific staff.

I have used Millennium Pool Service to take care of my pool for the past 2 seasons. They have done an outstanding job. I especially want to compliment Prichaska Libor who serviced my pool today. Not only did he clean the pool but he blew the leaves off the deck, checked all the chemicals, added salt and took before and after photos. There is no comparison to Millennium Pool Service as far as quality of both maintenance and repair service especially in comparison to my previous pool service. Millennium Pool Service completely reworked and converted our pool to a iAquaLink salt water system plus repaired the leak in our spa, replaced the pool light and installed in a new skimmer line. The pool now looks and functions better than it has in years. I recommend them without reservation.

Just had my pool opened. Millennium technicians Vlad and Mladeu were top notch professionals. They were knowledgeable and answered all my questions. They accommodated my request to roll the pool cover a certain way so I could patch a tear at a later time (it happened during the landscaping work we had done). Have used Millennium Pool Service for four years straight and have always had a good experience. I could have used another company but the customer service at MPS is excellent!

As good as it gets.for the moment. But, seriously lets talk about the good, bad, and ugly. After being with one other local pool company for 20 years, I switched to Millennium Pool about 4 years ago. After I fired the first two companies on my pool renovation project. This year, I have been very happy with pool opening. The techs did a great job setting up pool.
Water looks almost clear after 24 hours. Most of debris vacuumed out already. This makes my life so much easier. In past, I would have to do several back washes for first week ( at least 2-3 times ), constantly cleaning the Polaris, and dumping skimmers. With Millennium Pool's winter service, the water looks clear when the techs remove the pool cover.
So Millennium Pool gets my endorsement this year. Some information for existing or new pool owners. The pool industry is very seasonal up in Virginia. So, in general there is a high turn over in staffing. Moreover, as with many seasonal services, the business are at the mercy of policies pertaining to Visas. Last few years, business have been severely cut back when it comes to visa red tape.
As you can imagine, this causes problems. In general the pool industry has the new pool construction side and service / renovation side. Both have their own area of specializing. Many of the so called full service pool companies actually sub / outsource different aspects of the project. So, get all your info upfront. In short, we all have our strengths and weaknesses.
Thus far Millennium Pool has exceeded my expectations.for a pool service company. They saved my bacon helping me open my major pool renovation project, done a great job opening / closing my pool, great job with minor coping and caulking repairs, and awesome job A++++ fixing my massive pool leak. Millennium Pool discovered that my previous contractor never put the main hydrostatic plug back in when the pool was refilled with water. Nothing is absolutely perfect in this world. But, Millennium Pool is " as good as it gets "

I hired Millennium Pool (MP) to perform a complete renovation of my pool and pool deck. This renovation job included: new concrete, flagstone patio, drainage, coping, tile, plaster, salt cell, and repair of PVC underground pipes and above ground valves. MP project manager was Brian and he was very reliable. MP and their sub contractors did an amazing job.
It was a large project involving many crews, specialists, and sub specialists. Each one was very skilled and experienced. Pedro did all the concrete demo and casting. He also built me a brand new flagstone patio with re-bar, new steps, and new drainage throughout the structure. His work was excellent. MP also oversaw the work for the new coping, tile, plaster, installation of the new salt system, new skimmer, and replacement of lights.
The end result was amazing and we are very pleased. Dwayne and his service crew came and repaired two broken return pipes that were the source of a leak. He was extremely thorough and methodical in his work. MP also did two weeks of plaster care after the renovation and the weekly maintenance service. Dimitar Kolev was truly excellent and very, very smart.
He explained the plaster care and helped me calibrate my new salt cell so that it is optimized. He did an amazing job with the regular cleaning and maintenance. He took the time to answer all my picky questions and was very patient. He was excellent at explaining how everything worked and why he was doing what he was doing. I learned a lot from him. Andrew L. and his team came to install the cover. They were excellent and took their time to get it perfect! I am so grateful for everything. I will be back next year for sure! Thank you MP!

It is rare that I give a good rating to a company that made multiple mistakes, but often with a service provider, it is not the mistakes that matter, it is how they are handled. The initial issue was schedule delays, which were expected due to rain, but the salesman did a lousy job of communicating changes. The crew that did the work left our property a mess.
The plaster job appears to be well done, but rain at the end of the job allowed some staining on the new work. Once we made it clear how upset we were the company did some brick work at no charge, more than compensating for the mess left. The stains were removed and afterwards our water was analyzed and put in perfect balance. Based on this response, I would not hesitate to hire this company again.

I bought chemicals to prep for my pool opening with millennium pool service, I was not sure how much to put so I called Finn for assistance and he happily came to my home to instruct me and make sure I was using the proper chemicals. He's a professional service man and I will continue to use Finn and millennium pool services as I have for the past ten years. -Paul Ingenito

We selected Millennium to build a pool in our backyard, after interviewing a few builders. From the first phone call requesting a quote, we knew Millennium was special. Initially we dealt with Stan, he listened to what we wanted, answered our questions about the proposal. He never made us feel like we were wasting his time. Once the contract was signed we moved on to the actual design phase. Chris and Hank knew the codes, the set backs, and when we started to dream too big would make suggestions that kept in line with what we had room for and what we wanted.
Once the permits were issued we were handed off to another Chris who was our project manager. He was so patient with our numerous re-designs of the steps and to waiting for us to pick a waterline tile. He was always available to answer the phone with scheduling questions, etc. When we were away he'd text/email updates at the end of the day. During construction, it's messy, it's muddy, it's loud and your backyard looks awful.
The crews never left trash for us to clean up, materials were organized and never left strewn all over the place. I never heard foul language, and everyone was just very nice. Once our pool was completed, we still had a few good days to swim and every service was followed up with an email about what was completed, notes on the condition/chemicals and even pictures.
Once the weather turned cold we had Millennium close it for the winter. I can't recommend Millennium enough! The photo is of my pool filling up and my son having a night swim.

I leave my first review below for the record. However, MP has now stepped up its service levels, they are communicating internally and - most importantly - they got the job done. The manager sent out the crew for no extra charge to explain the pump and heater to us and they also helped us backwash the system. They also left an offer for some work that needs to be done.
Bottom line: they know what they are doing and after a frustrating start they were responsive and got the job done. ------- So far extremely poor service. I am dealing with 3 different crews, someone who is in the office but apparently doesn't seem to be communicating with the crews, they don't read or remember my emails, they show up at the house despite the fact that I told them we won't be there and they charged me anyway!
They oversold what they had to offer in my case (a pool opening after a couple of years without use) and we are now at twice the estimate and the job isn't done yet! It's like pulling teeth. I will update this review in case the situation improves. For now my rating is: stay away!

We are so happy with our pool and hot tub installation. Our backyard oasis is a dream come true! We also use Millennium for our weekly pool service, and Devis has been outstanding, always shows up and is very thorough. Hank, Danny and the entire team at Millennium Pools have been a pleasure to work with.

Millennium has corrected the issue with the pump by installing an appropriate two speed timer at their expense. It now runs great and keeps water circulating at a low rate all the time, with a shorter period of time on high speed. They have updated me on the status of the pool cover and assured me that it will be here prior to closing the pool. Thanks to Amber and Hank for making this situation right.
