Science has shown us how to make our buildings healthier, more energy efficient, and more comfortable. Homeowners, property managers, and real estate professionals are looking for companies like DocAir to take building science and apply it to real life - in our homes and our workplaces. DocAir diagnoses sick buildings, then develops sustainable solutions to "Cure" the buildings.

Barry Westbrook founded DocAir in 2002 with a focus on indoor air quality. His background as a home builder, Master Plumber, Senior Industrial Hygienist and Professional Engineer (KY) provided the basis for DocAir's holistic, system-oriented approach. Our clients include homeowners, property managers, construction contractors, engineers, and architects.
Request An Evaluation to determine the root cause of any adverse conditions. Whether the problem is with air quality, high energy bills, or drainage, DocAir will apply its forensic skills and experience to provide the customer with solutions that match the situation, the client's priorities, and the budget.
During the audit, the blower door is temporarily installed onto the frame of an exterior door-typically the main entrance. Then, all exterior doors and windows are closed while all interior doors are left open. While the fan pushes air outside, the air pressure inside your home is lowered. This allows for the higher air pressure outside to flow through any cracks, gaps, and penetrations.
The HERS Index measures a home's energy efficiency based on a standardized score. A typical resale home scores 130 on the HERS Index while a new home is awarded a rating of 100. Therefore a home with a HERS Index Score of 70 is 30% more energy efficient than a standard new home. Energy modeling software takes into account building components, spatial considerations, and leakage rate.

DocAir provided support for our recent home purchase to deal with both structural and Radon issues. Our home was built in 1975 and had severe structural issues in the garage. DocAir came in, gave reasonable quotes for both the Radon and structural issues. But the best part was the quality of work performed. Their solutions were very clever and well thought out.
Our structure went from a "great concern" to now being "completely solid". We also have extremely effective Radon mitigation equipment in place. Each day they were here, they thoroughly cleaned before leaving. I believe Lucas, Edgar and Eddie and the whole DocAir team is top notch and extremely trustworthy. I really want to say a huge thanks to DocAir for making our home so much more solid and safer. DocAir was a huge blessing to us. They are very highly recommended and will be our first choice for future needs.

We were referred to DocAir by our realtor, and we feel lucky. We hired them to help with water seeping into our crawl space as well as water ponding in our driveway and coming into our garage. They installed a vapor barrier, sump pump, and dehumidifier in our crawl space. They also helped to run our downspouts out into our yard and away from our home.
They have resolved our issues, but not only that, they have gone above and beyond to help tweak their work to make it perfect and have told me many times that if something needs tweaking in the future, they'll jump on it. Their work was thorough and their employees professional; I felt in good hands from their onsite technician to their back office administrators (Lucas, Edgar and Diane to name a few). Lastly, I had many estimates for the work that we needed, and DocAir was competitive, and we feel we received a ton of value from their work. The most important thing is that I would and will refer them to anyone who needs this type of work done moving forward. It was a pleasure working with them, truly.

Best in the business. We have used them for a variety of services over the years all having to do with air qual or water remediation. And 100% of the time they are great--mostly because they are smart and really think through solutions before doing any work. What differentiates Doc Air is that they take a consultative approach. You really feel them, esp Barry Westbrook thinking through the best solution--as opposed to their competition that is simply looking for a quick sale, but not thinking or caring if they are solving your problem. DEFINITELY recommend.

Quality of service with DocAir is fantastic. We have now had them work on 2 different properties. Installing and burying down spouts, replacing rotted joists, replacing vapor barriers, installing sump pumps. All of the work was done with care and quality. All the interactions were friendly and professional. We have already recommended them to several other people for work.

DocAir did quite a bit of work at our house this Spring, and we are cool and comfortable this Summer because of them. Our biggest need was to "balance" our ducts so that our house felt good in all our rooms, not cold in one room and hot in another. Rick was conscientious and super responsive, highly recommend!

I chose DocAir over 2 other vendors for Radon Mitigation and Mold Removal based on the information that I received from them after they inspected my home. They provided a written estimate along with photos of the issues that we were experiencing. They explained each item and why we needed the services that they offered. The technician and the crew that performed the work with professional and courteous. Also, DocAir provided a 2 year warranty while others only provided a one year warranty. I highly recommend DocAir and will use them in the future should the need arise.

Doc Air did a great job for us, reinstalling a new HVAC duct system as well as a set of stormwater drains tied into our roof gutters. Their employees were on time, efficient and professional, and we were highly satisfied with every piece of work they did. On the stormwater system, discovery of some old plumbing required a change to scope of work, and Doc Air was completely willing to adjust on the fly, giving us a discount in the process. I highly recommend Doc Air for any housework you may need.

When critters scratched their way into our crawlspace, we called on DocAir to repair the damage done to our sealed vents and vapor barrier. They not only repaired the damage.they completely updated the encapsulation system to current standards. And, the work was top-notch and reasonably priced. I highly recommend DocAir for professional, high quality service.

I had a really positive experience with Doc Air. I hired them to do mold remediation in my crawl space, and then a full encapsulation including installing a dehumidifier. The crew that worked on both projects were incredibly friendly and polite, and accomplished a lot in a short amount of time. They did a detailed job on the encapsulation and even within a week I've seen the humidity level decrease in my crawl space and I'm not getting musty odors in my house like I used to.
I appreciated the flexibility in being able to choose the thickness of the plastic that I wanted, depending on my budget. Speaking of budget, I had several bids on this work and they came in at the lowest. Good work at a reasonable price. Thanks y'all!

We purchased a home which had a Storm Water Management system installed prior to our move-in. Over the last year we noticed a patch of our front lawn wasn't properly growing and were able to trace it back to the water which was being pumped out by the sump pump installed by DocAir. I reached out and within a few days Lucas came over to my house to take a look at the work that had been done.
I was afraid that since we weren't the original owners of the house that DocAir would've charged us for rerouting the sump pump. Instead Lucas went out of his way to honor their warranty and within 5 days had a crew come out to fix the issue. He even sent over the original proposal, so I could have a better understanding of how our house water management system worked.
It's rare to find a company in the construction/contracting business that isn't always trying to make an extra buck. It speaks to how they operate with integrity and truly back their own work. I highly recommend DocAir!

I usually don't go with the lowest bidder, but my home inspector buddy John Williams with All Pro Property inspections recommended them. We saved a lot over three other bidders. Crawl space encapsulation included a monitor that we can read upstairs. Humidly is now 49%, down from 70%! The crew of two knocked it out in a couple of days, and were great to work with.

Thieves about sums it up. Look at these prices. When asked to quoute me for just a positive flow drain, they never called back. Chased them down and said "hey, if the job is just too small, tell me." "Oh no, we do work for $200" they said. Still never called back. Never called once. In short, every other professional who looked at my property has said these guys were trying to fleece me.
Not cool. The actual cost to do the job correctly, $1,500. A gardener even pointed out where my water intrusion was. But hey, they can sell you a sump pump for house on a slope if you want to waste your time with these guys.

I had a great experience with Doc Air.from learning that the property we were selling had radon average of over 10 (very stressful a few weeks before closing), I needed the job done right, quickly and needed to feel confident about the quality. I was so pleased with the service and quality of their work; I had 2 other companies look at the job as well, however, I selected Doc Air based on ease of working with them and the thicker vapor barrier they were using. Really, they are worth including when you get an estimate and they provide quality work and communication.

Doc Air did a great job for us in diagnosing where our leak was coming from and took the time to thoroughly look around the house to find the problem area. I was very impressed with the knowledge and integrity of this company. I would definitely use them in the future and trust that they are not trying to sell me things that I don't need.

We are selling our house and the Radon Inspection came back at 4.9. Our realtor recommended DocAir. We were extremely impressed by the professionalism and the work performed on this install. They took the time to find the best location for the install and thought it about the placement of this device as if it were there own home. They brought their lunch to the site so that they could stay on the site and get this install done in about a half a day. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. I wish all businesses operated like this.

Doc Air helped us to determine inefficiencies in our home's heating and cooling system. Liam was helpful in explaining the most valuable and budget-friendly improvements to make in our home. After a thorough consultation, we decided to seal around the supply registers, weatherize the attic access, seal air leaks with crawl space, and block crawlspace vents with spray foam. Doc Air was flexible in scheduling and professional in execution. These small tweaks have already proven useful in increasing our home's efficiency, and we look forward to savings in energy costs this winter!

We hired DocAir to mitigate radon in our house, because Diane was very easy to work with. However, when things went wrong, the experience was horrendous. The initial radon reading was at 4.1. After their mitigation, the radon level went UP to over 15. We spoke with several people at DocAir, from Jeff and Mike, the technicians, to Barry, the owner.
Everyone proposed a different solution on mitigating the issue, with no consistency. Despite initially proposing a non-invasive solution of digging deeper to pull in more air from the soil, they backed out and refused to go with that proposal. Additionally, the work was very shoddy, leaving unsightly holes inside and outside of our home. Both Mike and Barry became very threatening towards the end of our conversations, making us feel like we are at a used car dealership. Don't be fool by their initial interactions, they are complete nightmares to deal with after they have received your money.
