Despite the friendly individuals we talked to, there were a couple of things annoyed me about the experience of getting our gas stove insert: 1) a couple months after ordering our unit, we called to check on the status and it turns out it had arrived weeks ago and they forgot to call us, 2) after this, they scheduled our inspection and I stayed home from work to meet with the inspector.
After waiting all day, I called the city and they said we were never on the books, we called Fireside and they told us they forgot to schedule it, 3) we paid to have our gas oven line split from the stove line and the installation was very shoddy, with only one loose screw securing the wobbly pipe line to the floor plank (not even the subfloor), an extra hole drilled into our floor, plus some wall damage and 4) the gas valve that was installed is way smaller than can be hooked up to any oven, even with an adapter.
We called fireside and they told us that they usually install 1/2 inch male 1/2 inch female valves (which this isn't) but they can't help us fix it. It's been weeks and we still can't find a solution.

Our server was friendly and helpful! Her co-worker however, was a top-notch biotch. I guess we kept her up passed her bedtime based on her rude behavior. I would suggest management discusses with (the blonde) haired server who closed tonight, the level of customer service expected (or even just how to be kind to a paying customer). As for the younger, darker haired gal who closed - give her a raise; she actually cares about the level of service provided to your patrons!

Ordering the furniture in store and delivery were quick. I probably received the furniture within a couple days. However I didn't receive one of the end tables I bought and instead received a call saying someone decided not to deliver me the table because it had scratches (you could barely see these scratches, maybe in some lights/reflections). Fireside made it sound like it was just going to be a few days to repair the table.
So I end up calling every 3 weeks. finally after 2 months they said they got the paint and will call me within 2 weeks. Never got a call in those 2 weeks. Call again and was told they did it but he wanted to make sure so he asked to call me right back. Didn't call me back so I went there after an hour and the table was wet with paint like they just did it. Hard to say if I'll be back

Don't even know where to start but I'll start by saying go elsewhere if you're looking for a gas stove for a source of heat. I live in a small older home on the westside of Bend. My old woodstove always provided ample heat, the gas stove that I replaced it with LOL, well, far from it, even though it's more of a stove then they recommended. The purchase and install process was confusing, and the information provided was incorrect and i ended up having to hold their(fireside) hands through the whole process.
I had to use space heaters for heat due to their incompetence and lack of support through the purchase and process. Fireside would tell me one thing and the gas company would tell me another. Fireside and their scheduling/receptionist(Nancy?) was unable to logistically align the install so I would not go without heat, if I wasn't proactive I would have gone over two weeks without heat.
Not sure why they thought I would be ok without heat in December. Once the stove was installed it would constantly shut itself off. Took about a week before I had consistent heat from it. The thermostat has never worked. The stove does not provide enough heat and I have to run it 24hrs a day and it's still very cool in the home in the mornings. Now that winter has returned and looking back on how much of a pain it was just get the stove installed and operational I think I'm going to call someone else to fix the thermostat on it or potentially upgrade to a stove that will actually heat the home since they proved time and time again that they can not provide whats needed.
On top of all this scheduling is a nightmare and inconsistent. FYI they knew before, and during that the stove is the ONLY source of heat for my home. They also knew the homes age. Just plan rude! Just like many home build businesses and contractor services in Bend.too much demand allows you to treat customers poorly. I wish everyone would stop doing renovations so these companies and contractors would realize how they should be treating paying customers instead of like an annoyance. I have 4 fireplaces to redo and you couldn't pay me to use these guys.

I've just had the most wonderful experience on a day where I was pretty convinced that nothing was going to go right. Today, we lost the house we were supposed to have being built in the Three Rivers area because of an unscrupulous builder and his real estate agent. Earlier in the year, we had talked to many different fireplace stores and decided to purchase a brand new Lopi propane free standing stove from Fireside of Bend.
We dealt with a gentleman by the name of Hap Blackmer. He was fabulous. He helped us pick out the exact stove for our brand new home. There was no pressure or upsale tactics. Just a nice honest businessman. In fact everyone we have dealt with at Fireside, including, sales, accounting, and installers has given excellent service. At our request, they agreed to hold the stove at their store on layaway until it was ready to be installed.
I put $2,000 down and agreed to make payments on it over the summer. Today I had to call Hap and tell him we would not be able to purchase the stove after all because our builder backed out of the deal. Hap immediately said there was no problem. Fireside would issue us a check for a full refund for the money we had paid so far. I am happy to say that I wasn't prepared for such kindness, in fact I was stunned.
If you ever need a beautiful stove or fireplace, please take my recommendation and invest your $$$ with a store that maintains a 5-star reputation for customer service. I will never shop for a stove or fireplace anywhere else. That you Hap and thank you Fireside.

Adam just came out to service an older propane stove that came with the house when I bought it. He was polite, helpful, explained everything thoroughly, and was meticulously clean. He could have tried to upsell me into buying a new stove, and instead he told me what a solid great stove I had, it just needed a little touch up maintenance. Excellent service; I couldn't be more pleased.

The house I bought came with a stunning pellet insert from Fireside. Once a year I have them out to service it and they always do a fabulous job. Jason & Ryan came out this year and both are very courteous & professional employees. He took the time to answer my questions and explain what he was doing in terms of maintenance. He went above and beyond the service requested. I was torn between giving Fireside 3 or 4 stars but I most definitely did not have a 5 star experience. Unfortunately Fireside has the exclusive sales contract in the area with Marquis Spas. Hap is a very good salesman (informative, enthusiastic, etc.) but that appears to be where his customer service ends. I think he assumes that everyone who walks in the door must know all about buying/installing a new hot tub.
Despite making a big deal about "installation" being included in the price, he failed to mention that their crew doesn't actually connect the hot tub they just "install" it which actually means DELIVERY. If I hadn't called to ask a random question I wouldn't have known this. Despite my being very specific about the fact that the hot tub would be built in to our new deck he never once mentioning this could be a problem.
Fast forward a couple of weeks after I paid and ordered the hot tub Hap had some kind of epiphany and had to send his installation team back out for a pre delivery visit because he suddenly thinks they may not be able to get the hot tub in to the space! Luckily my deck builder (who also sells/maintains hot tubs) was awesome and made sure that everything went smoothly and not only facilitated the "installation" but connected, filled and got my new hot tub up and running.
After not getting calls/emails returned from Hap, his colleague Seth was very helpful so kudos to Seth. We do like our new Marquis hot tub. We would tell them this if they had made a follow up call after the install. This is another example of Hap's lack of post sale customer service, sadly it reflects on Fireside as a whole.

I'm not one to usually post reviews but I feel I must let people know what kind of service they get when they go through Fireside. I have even waited over a year to post my experiences. I highly recommend this company. They continue to impress me. I have worked with Seth and Mark in the past and they have always been knowledgeable and helpful. This company stands by their warranty/services 100%.

Working for a contractor specializing in fireplace projects, we work with Fireside on a regular basis. Staff is always professional and knowledgeable. and they deliver an excellent product. They stand behind their product and only carry products they will install (did you know some fireplace retailers have you find someone to install your new investment that does not work for them?).

I initially gave them one star but the people that showed up at my house, installers and service tech, were 5 star service, Jacob even came back on his day off, so that raised it to a 3. Felt ignored when my new stove did not work and was first quoted 2 weeks for a repair. Getting the repair down to one week, I called the day before to get some reassurance that it was not going to be a "oh its this part and we don't carry that part in stock" situation, so I asked to speak with a manager.
They said that they were not available and I would get a call back. Around by late afternoon I got a call from the salesman who proceeded to do his best to placate me. I felt a little put off that I got called back not by a manager. Well, a week and a half later it is not working without some random shutoff. I was told by many employee's that this stove gives them problems.
Why do you sell problematic stoves? So there is my 2 cents worth. TL:DR- Actual service at my house, very pleased. Product I bought, Quadra-Fire Classic Bay 1200, is junk. In store sales and support have room for improvement.

Alan did a good job helping us convert our wood burning fireplace and select a very nice looking gas fireplace log set. Although I took the lead, communication was good throughout the time it took to place order, have items manufactured, shipped and installed. Installation tech was fantastic.he arrived on-time, laid down blankets to protect our floor and was very neat, clean, well organized. He took extra time to explain how everything works. The fireplace looks fantastic and we are pleased!

After being turned away at Bend Hearth & Spa I decided to stop by Fireside. Not only did they help me and answer all my questions their rep Seth said that if I needed any help in the future to give them a call and he'd help. Thank you so much for helping. Maintaining the quality of water in my hot tub has been challenging. Seth set me up with the right chemicals to get the job done with the least amount of hassle.

What a bunch of assholes! Bought a pellet stove and the install was botched. Both old guys are complete fucking dicks! Not only were they not helpful in any way after spending thousands of dollars, they insulted my intelligence, accused me of breaking the item related to said botched install, refused to do anything about my concerns and asked me to leave the store. In a town with so many places to do business, don't go to the most expensive assholes with attitude!

These guys are the best! As the weather turned cool, I needed service on my fireplace. It was serviced by another in town, not to be named company who sent out a quintessential used car salesman who did a bit of service and told me the whole thing needed to be replaced. Wanted a second opinion, so when I got a sale flyer from Fireside, I called them.
They installed the fireplace approx. 20 yrs ago; didn't know that at the time. Due to the dire doom warnings from the used car salesman, they wanted to check it out from a safety perspective, and - wait for it - it's a great unit. It will need to be replaced at some unknown future time, but not now. Thank you Adam and Fireside for being honest, providing great service, and coming to the rescue.
As if you didn't already have a customer for life, I'll tell everyone else, too. Oh, and I'll also tell them where not to go - unless they're looking for that used car.

Very happy with the service. Tyson was very efficient with the process and picking out the right stove for our home. Hap was very friendly and knowledgeable on the different types of stoves they have to offer. Norm and his son Ben did an awesome job installing and even saved me some money! We're in the process of selecting new patio furniture. It is easier choosing a house, my hubby suggested last week. Perhaps. Perhaps. One thing that made the process simpler in the last couple of days was stopping in at Fireside and meeting Hap. He says he's not a good salesperson, but truly he is! Personable, knowledgeable about the product lines they carry, very helpful at pulling additional items out of the warehouse on site and top notch with follow through.
As in getting a cost estimate to us via email before we could even make the ten minute drive home. Well done. If Hap's not in, and we recommend him, all of the staff at Fireside are very friendly and helpful. Round of applause all around. If they don't have the item on premises that you're looking for from manufacturers they carry, they'll order it for you.
And prices at Fireside are reasonable, inventory is discounted off of MSRP plus they offer additional sales from time to time. They offer discounts on special orders too. And free delivery within a big radius of miles from the store to boot! The thing that keeps this review from being a little shy of five stars is very simply that as a small store they have a limited number of patio furniture to see on premise and only carry a couple of brands.
Good brands they are though, like Summer Classics and Telescope, so thumbs up for that. If shopping for patio furniture is such a good experience here, imagine how great it could be to shop for fireplaces, gas barbecues and spas, all of which are part of their mainline business. We won't be in the market for any of those things, but if you are, we think you'll enjoy being a customer at Fireside Spa and Patio.
