New York Paint and Hardware was founded by Michael Gorelik who immigrated from Belarus back in 1979.He worked hard as a Taxi driver, but always had the dream of owning his own hardware store. After he married Victoria, he got an opportunity to manage a Paint and Decorating store on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.

We have waste pipes, faucet and toilet supply lines, shut-off valves, flappers, wax gaskets, copper fittings, black fittings and other miscellaneous plumbing supply. As a matter of fact, our partner store First Avenue Supply House, has the largest selection of plumbing on the Upper East Side. We carry plumbing supply in bulk and have name brand protools.
We have electrical outlets, light bulbs, extension chords, light fixtures and electrical boxes. We have a large selection of light bulbs. All kinds of LED Light Bulbs, Compact Fluorescent Bulbs, Flourescent tubes, and specialty bulbs. As a matter of fact, our organizations has the largest selection of light bulbs in the Upper East Side.
Believe it or not, New York Paint & Hardware is home to the Upper East Sides only guitar repair shop. We also have lots of accessories, including guitar and bass strings, capos, tuners, picks, and guitar straps. Every time I go in here the staff is so helpful in getting me exactly what I need to do the various home improvements Im working on. They always take the extra time to make sure I have the proper tools and to provide guidance. They're also way much more knowledgeable than when you go into a large department store like Home Depot, etc. Cant recommend them enough!

Now this is a terrific local hardware store! Family owned they also just recently launched a guitar shop a few minutes walk away. Support these guys over the big box Home Depots of the world if you can. Sometimes I like to tinker and fix things in my apartment by myself, do some painting, or work on a home improvement project and this shop usually has just what I need. Well stocked and organized. Staff here is helpful, knows what they are talking about, and will offer good advice for what you need.

Very good place to print. they do not charge you like other places in town. in UPS/staples to print 1 or 2 pages you will have to buy computer time. (3$ min). in here, you can just give a USB stick or send email and they will print: 25c per b/w (1$ min), 75c per color (2$ min). if you do want computer time - its 2$ min (vs 3$ in other places) the people are nice, and there are 2 computers you can use if you need.

My boyfriend and I just moved to the Upper East Side about 2 months ago. We are living in a small one bedroom and knew we would have to really make use of the space. We decided to mount the TV, a shelf for the TV, and the microwave. New York Paint and Hardware was super helpful the 2 times we stopped by. We walked in and right away someone came and helped us.
A different man helped us each time, and both of them knew what they were talking about and certainly answered all of our questions with ease. We will continue to use NY Paint & Hardware for any of our home improvement needs!

I concur that you can't find nicer guys. Store manager Yuri is the best, Sarah as well is a ray of sunshine whenever you walk in. Not to mention owner Frank who's wonderful. They're not satisfied until they've provided the help needed. Product variety for all home repair and cleaning needs are extensive and for sure if they don't have it, they will get it for you. Convenient, reliable, friendly, cant ask for more. Thumbs way up!

First of all the store is much bigger on the inside that you would imagine. Dont be put off by the small storefront. Inside is pretty much everything you need for small at home projects. Everyone there is super helpful and assisted in running through a bunch of different ways I could make my project come to life. Fantastic service!

This is the best hardware store on the upper east side. It's not a very big store but in true Manhattan style, they seem to have everything. What sets this store apart from the others, however, is the exceptional customer service. If you visit this store, I guarantee that you will be greeted right away by a knowledgeable and helpful employee. I love this place!
