Atlantic Chimney has serviced my two homes for years now. The last service was thorough and workers were informative as to what they were doing. They lined the chimney with a steel liner after repairing the parts of the chimney which were broken. Good service from a great company. The chimney repair and liner were at the Pocasset house.

I hired Atlantic chimney to install a new chimney pipe, involving cutting a hole thru the roof. They installed it as scheduled. But, the 1st time there was a heavy rain, water leaked thru and got into a puddle on my wood stove, causing it to rust. They came back to look, said the pipe was leaking from the inside, although the flashing with the roof was OK.
The inner pipe was scratched too, it looked as if a defective pipe might have been installed as well as there not being a proper seal on the inside. They came a second time and put a plastic bag over the chimney to keep more water from getting in and refunded the money I'd paid, then refused to do any more work to fix the problem. Coincidentally, my carpenter saw one of the techs at starbucks who told him "Bill is being an a_____ about this project and wants to walk away from it." Hopefully the refund would cover getting this chimney fixed by someone who knows what they're doing even though the rust on the stove is something we'll have to live with. In the meantime, dealing with their mess is a significant pain. Would you hire someone who did this?

I would love to make this 5 stars. in fact I guess I will, despite one nasty snafu. It took a month to schedule, but for September I think that's extremely reasonable - next time I'll do it during the summer. Two (2) uniformed Atlantic employees showed up on the dot of the appointed time, wearing masks (important to me as I'm 69, and my wife is immune compromised).
They got right to it, after introducing themselves. I wish I could remember their names. I'd gladly include them - it's that 69 years old thing again. The lead had 10 years experience with Atlantic. His assistant had 3. Both were personable, and professional. They laid out protective coverings to shield our floors and our heirloom hand woven rug (pretty much the most valuable thing in the house) which sits directly in front of the fireplace.
The total experience was one (1) hour. The living room was shielded from soot from the fireplace throughout. Finished product was terrific, and the price was exactly what was quoted a month earlier. Great job. So. the hang-up? They closed the flu without mentioning it. When I tried to set a fire a couple of weeks later, I ended up inhaling a crapload of smoke before I could reset the flu.
Still sneezing black three (3) days later. But every other element of the job was so good I couldn't let myself dock them a star. I will use them again next summer. I recommend this company without reservation (but make a reservation).

8/26/2020 Updated Review This is my second review of Atlantic Chimney who came to clean a blocked dryer vent. This company remains a 5 star rating on service and price. I gave them a 5 star rating a few years ago when they cleaned my dryer vent then and my rating remains the same. Very highly recommended!

Our concrete block chimney was chipped and you could see outside because there was never any flashing applied. Dan came out, got up on the roof to inspect it and wrote a quote for separate items so we could decide what work we wanted done. He supplied photos to help us decide. They did great work. Arrived on time, even early and completed the job on 2 trips.
Of course they obtained a permit as I would expect. The Stucco flex they applied really made the fireplace look finished and so much more attractive. In addition they had to install one additional row of blocks on the top because the regulations had changed. No charge for that. I recommend this company wholeheartedly.

I had Atlantic Chimney, Inc. install a 30 foot, stainless steel, insulated liner into my existing masonry chimney and connect a wood stove. Atlantic is a class act, extremely professional business. For starters, Bill came over to give me a free estimate - he looked carefully, explained things clearly and was no pressure. A few days later he gave me a price, with everything clearly stated in writing, including pictures and details of the work they would be doing and materials they would be using.
For starters, the price was significantly less than other companies I had contacted. But beyond price, this was to do the work correctly and safely, and not cutting corners. I had other companies that didn't want to use an insulated liner, didn't want to deal with a permit, didn't want to put in a block off plate, took forever to respond and required me calling multiple times to get any word, etc. (and these companies charged more!).
I asked Bill about pulling a permit and he told me Atlantic could pull it and gave me a price for that (which was reasonable and again cheaper than other companies), or I could go to the permit office with permission and paperwork from Atlantic to pull the permit on Atlantic's behalf, thus saving a little money by me going into the permit devision, but the permit would still in Atlantic Chimney's name.
This is significant, as I had other companies either not want to deal with a permit at all or tell me to pull it in my name, which at the permit division in Boston they advised me against, explaining that if the permit was in my name and anything went wrong I would have no recourse. With Atlantic, they were in complete support of pulling a permit because they do the work the right way and up to code (now why would those other companies be nervous about pulling a permit?).
I agreed to move forward with the work, and Atlantic quickly sent me all the signed documents I needed in order to pull the permit. The women in Atlantic's office who helped with the permit, with scheduling, and answered about a million questions I had, were all extremely helpful and quick to respond to me (again, a class act!). On the day of the install, the team showed up with four guys.
They were on time, and even called the day before to confirm. The first thing they did was roll out a big cloth runner from my front door all the way to my fireplace, so they would never even step on my floor nor make any mess. They covered the fireplace with a big tarp and got to work. They first swept the chimney, then installed the liner, then attached my wood stove.
They guys were super friendly, and didn't mind me watching and asking questions. When they came up against a challenge in the install they explained it to me and explained my options, they worked hard to resolve the issue and they did. They cleaned everything carefully and went on their way after the six or so hour job. Once again, class act! I can't recommend Atlantic Chimney highly enough - professional, prompt, excellent work, great price, nice people!

We had a problem with our flue causing carbon monoxide to build up in the house. Atlantic Chimney had to cut a clean out in the brick chimney that is inside the house in a finished area. They covered the floors and carpets and did a great job. The price was also very reasonable I would use them again and would definitely recommend to others.

I received an estimate from them to rebuild my chimney last fall and due to money issues I wasn't able to act on it until this summer. They showed up on time and had the chimney done by the time I got home from work. The chimney looked like crap. It still had broken pieces and instead of replacing the top two layers of bricks which were all broken they covered them over with cement.
I called the boss Bob right away and told him I hated it, we went back and forth about it and believe me I was very upset. Bob showed up at my home at 6 am the next morning and apologized and promised to fix it asap. Which he did that day. What I didn't appreciate was he telling me that the cap he put on there cost 1300.00 hundred dollars and how he gave it to me for free and other stories like this.
All I wanted was for the job to be done right the first time, no BS. I also got an estimate for the steps to be done and he was suppose to do this at a later date however decided to do them along with the chimney. He had removed all the loose cement and when I asked him about the job I found out he was not actually going to level the top tier which made me very even madder because I had assumed he would be repointing the entire front steps, not just removing the loose stuff and redoing them as they were.
When I had another mason look the job over he couldn't believe that a "mason" had done the work. They left the area a real mess and didn't repoint the steps at all. I found this company on the Better Business Bureau website so I was not expecting this kind of response if you know what I mean. I would never recommend them.
