We had a flood in our house due to a faulty dishwasher. The overall process lasted 9months due to insurance and unfortunately supply chain issues. Fred was there every step of the way! He provided a temporary sink, designed a gorgeous kitchen to compliment the aesthetics of our house and the trends of our neighborhood (One Loudoun), and always kept us abreast of the process of completing a renovation. He also helped us by communicating with our insurance company along the way. The outcome is gorgeous! We can't thank you enough!

Highly recommend Floor and Design. Fred and Mike were great to work with. They made recommendations and kept us informed about the schedule each day until the work was complete. The painters and floor installers were on time and professional. The quality of the work was great! We will be using them again for future projects.

We couldn't be happier with Floor & Design. We had almost 2,000 sq feet of LVT installed, stairs and railings replaced, kitchen cabinets painted, new quartz counters and a backsplash installed. The crews were amazing, very professional, neat and experts at their craft. Fred and Mike were great to work with and helped guide us through the design process. Once the work started Fred kept us informed and was on top of every detail. We would use them again and recommend them for your projects. Thank you!

Fred and his crew have done so much work for us and each time, they do a magnificent job. They've helped us with flooring and remodeled our kitchen and master bathroom, as well as the kitchenette in our basement. They have constantly gone above and beyond to make sure that we are happy. The work that they have done is top notch and the quality of the materials cannot be beat. We will definitely be back the next time we need any updates or changes!

Fred Soltani runs this business. If I could, I'd give it a Zero, as one star is too much for him. He is the worst business person I've dealt with in my 75 years on this earth. Oak flooring (960 sq. feet) was installed in my Ashburn, VA home, August 2018 - in the dining room, living room, hallway, and in the bedroom - all on our first floor (bought the home 8/2018, and before moving in, replaced the previous owners carpeting with oak wood flooring).
Not Fred's fault, but the wood proved to have powder post beetle infestation 2 and 1/2 years later (I hired a professional Pest Inspector, and he found 33 areas of infestation). Wood guaranteed for life, but the labor was not. Starting June 1st of 2021, while talking to Fred on the phone, I sent via email photos of the bug damage (as I was in AZ on vacation) my house manager found throughout our home. Fred said, "Give me a day or two, and I'll get back to you".
Nothing for a week. Called again a week later. Fred said, "Can't talk, will call you right back". No calls back. Returned to VA from AZ July 3. Went in person to see Fred July 6th. No apologies - no calls - no emails - nothing from him for a whole month. Said, "We have a problem. The oak wood flooring is covered under a l Life Time Warranty but the labor isn't".
He then stated - "Will let you know via email by next Friday (ten whole days - July 16th) my resolution of the labor cost installation". Guess what - no email! So I visit Fred again in his store ten days later, and because of my sour attitude, he didn't want HIS people doing the installation, and wanted me to get a contractor on my own and pay them, and he would reimburse me - (as if I could trust him at his word?) (You would have a sour attitude also, if you were in my shoes dealing with him).
My real estate agent that recommended Fred 3 years ago got involved in this mess, as she felt some responsibility (I've known her for 33 years). She negotiated with Fred for the labor cost payment - he at first agreed to pay @ $4000 for the work, then did an about face and only wanted to pay $2800 - and my real estate lady friend was going to pay the difference of $1200 out of her own pocket. Well, the new replacement wood finally showed up July 30th. Fred went in person to deliver a check for the new wood installation August 3 to another flooring company I choose - the FULL amount.
New flooring installed August 10,11- 2021. The beetle infestation was worst than the Pest Inspector found, as many areas of the damage did not show up on the surface - and I have videos to prove it - the beetles turn the oak wood into sawdust. I had contacted another flooring company, and in their proposal for installation, I had them put in the proposal, 'Payment in Full before work starts'. Fred wanted to pay half up front, and half after completion. Well, what matters here, you can not accept anything FRED says as truthful.
I can not for the life of me, see how this man stays in business. When I first contacted him about this bug mess, he could/should have said - "I'm sorry this has happened, and as a previous customer, I will take care of this and fix the problem, since the wood has a Lifetime Warranty". Well, 2 months and 11 days later, my wife and I have new flooring - but what an ordeal.

When it came to new flooring, I wanted to go local with a shop in my community. Fred was wonderful to work with. He helped me pick out carpeting and vinyl for my new home that was in my budget, pet friendly and beautiful. I also wanted to refinish the flooring - Fred is an expert and could identify the type of wood on sight and was able to make great recommendations for how to go about the job. Fred's team finished all of the carpeting, vinyl and refinishing within 6 days.
When they discovered rotting floor boards, his team did an amazing job of removing the damaged wood and replacing the plywood. Overall I had a great experience and would highly recommend Fred and his team. Thank you for the beautiful job and finishing everything on time so I could move in!

I met Fred about 10 years ago when he was recommended by my real estate agent to upgrade my first place before putting it on the market for sale. Several months ago, when needing to repair and upgrade my basement, I called multiple places and got several quotes and visits and recommendations, I found myself going back to Floor & Design and Fred for value, quality, selection and confidence.
What I found out from my real estate agent is that she first met him more than two decades ago and found his work exemplary and has never really needed to look elsewhere. In my own observations, he seems to take ownership of the customers' problems and projects and works them thoroughly and is very helpful and patient with all my questions. This is not a get it done, send the bill and get out.
This is a business that wants you to call them back in the future - just as I did. The workers he sends over are respectful, conscientious and proud of the quality of their work. This I saw every day when I was home working. All the crews were treating the job seriously and cleaned up well. My project had so many moving parts that I am surprised that nothing went wrong but somehow, they coordinated and juggled everything like it was just another day at work.
That being said, if they say that it will take X days or weeks to do something, it is well worth that time because rushing the work isn't the best idea. Let them take that time and you will get your value and excellence. As with all contractors be sure to specify everything clearly up front so that everyone is on the same page - perhaps even a bulleted list on paper might be helpful to prevent surprises to both sides.

I cannot be happier that I chose Floor and Design for my bathroom remodel. Fred and his crew were as professional and timely as can be and everything they did was above and beyond. Fred expertly assisted and advised on tile and carpet options and got it installed beautifully. The crew cleaned up after themselves each day and I could tell that they take pride in their work.
The price for the work performed and high grade materials was exceptional and I would never hesitate to highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have work done in their home or business.

As soon as Fred said, "hello" I knew we would have Floor and Design do our work. He listened to our plan and gave us a fair price. The contractors were professional and did a wonderful job. After our bathroom was complete, we added a carpet project also! This is a top notch company who I highly recommend! Services: Paint indoors, Plumbing fixture installation, Tile work installation, Remodeling, Fan installation

Great company and personal service! We walked in just to take a look at new hardwood flooring and LVT and see what they had to offer and we were pleasantly surprised! Fred was super knowledgeable about all of the flooring choices offered, and despite the size of the store, they have a lot. I changed my mind plenty of times and Fred explained all the different types of flooring suitable for our house.
We had been to plenty of big box stores and some local boutique flooring stores and this was the most personal service we found by far. My only complaint is not going there first.

We had Fred and Mike do two projects in our house that replacing all house to a new hardwood and paint all the house. They did a great job with both projects with the time frame they provided us prior, they were checking in and stopping by on their contractors 3 times a day and they were responsive on the phone whenever we called them. Also, I want to mention that their contractors are honest and work hard to finish the job in great shape and timely manor. I highly recommend them.

Fred is an amazing guy. Our dishwasher leaked water and caused a lot of water damage. Fred helped us negotiate with insurance, he also replaced the whole flooring on that floor and he remodeled the entire kitchen. The workers work very efficiently and do the work to the highest quality. I would definitely hire them again.

Floor & Design installed LVP throughout our first floor and hallway upstairs, with matching stained hardwood on the stairs. We chose Floor & Design, due to a recommendation from our realtor, liking a product they offered at a fair price, and because of Fred Soltani's responsiveness in providing an estimate and working with us. Demolition of existing ceramic tile & hardwood, installation and painting took 4.5 days, 3 of which, were installation. Marcus and Luis completed everything except the painting.
They are very hardworking and skilled. Fred visited on 4 of the 5 days and was available by phone, on the other. He was always in contact with his crew. Marcus took the initiative to ask if we would like the flooring to extend into the small sink area of the hallway bathroom and suggested it would look better than the existing carpet. It was a great idea, there was enough material, due to the necessary 10% extra ordered. Fred kindly agreed to the installation in that area, at no additional charge, even though it was not part of the original contract. Fred & his employees were always polite and courteous.
The new floors and stairs look wonderful and create a more spacious appearance. The only very minor problem encountered were gaps at the bottom of door casing due to a new, lower floor level. I since learned this is common when installing LVP. Fred discussed solutions with us and provided some replacement casing. We are very pleased with the project and would definitely hire Floor & Design again. Thank you Fred and your team!

I am very pleased with the work done to my kitchen and bathroom. We installed a beautiful farmhouse sink, quartz countertops, new cabinetry and water-resistant floors for the kitchen, and ceramic octagonal patterned tiles for the bathroom. Floor and Design were dependable, always on time; professional; and flexible with scheduling. I love that they use high quality materials. We love our new kitchen and plan to have them replace our carpets in a couple of years!

The Floor & Design Co. renovated our floor with great attention to detail and did a clean job, very organized and on time. They were easy to reach and suggested an additional change for my fireplace which I am so glad to have gone through with, highly recommend this group, I will be sticking with them in future kitchen remodel.

We are giving these guys two stars on the carpet purchase simply because the installers worked hard and long and the carpet was of decent quality. That being said, Fred Soltani worked equally as hard to change his story, ignore our emails, change his pricing and do or say anything or everything to retain a job. After dealing with many contractors through my job as a commercial real estate broker, I thought I might have seen and heard all the stories and tales until I met Fred. BUYERS BEWARE!

The experience was as good as we ever could have hoped. The guidance was great, the pricing was competitive or better and the response rate was outstanding. There were no surprises and everything ran like clockwork The estimate was same day, the installation was done professionally, on time and the work was impeccable. What was really nice was that the owners were personally appreciative and said so. PS, the installer was prompt, pleasant, tidy and did a great job installing and cleaning up afterwards. If the choice is some major chain or these guys, definitely give these guys the first crack. You won't be disappointed.

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with Floor & Design. We had laminate flooring installed through 3 floors of our home. Mike and Fred were always there to answer our questions (I had a lot of them, as it was a big purchase) and were very thorough throughout the process. Seriously, I texted Fred with questions almost everyday and he would respond within the hour.
They allowed us to take samples home to see what it looked like in our house and worked within our budget. The men who were installing came to our house while we were at work and they did the entire house in 6 days (9 am - 4:00 p.m.). Fred and/or Mike came to our house everyday to check on the installation process. They cleaned up every single day, swept the floors and replaced all furniture to its original location. They were awesome!

One of the WORST customer service nightmares you will ever experience. The owner is that of a cheesy car salesman who tells you want you want to hear, takes your money for a down payment and makes constant excuses as to why your floor is not in yet. I've used them 3 different times - each time has been the exact same experience and I will never use them again. Terrible. Save your money and go with someone who will not BS you.

I do not recommend this company for these reasons: unprofessional, inexperienced installers and rude service by the owner. I had hardwood floors installed on the main level of my single family home. The installation itself was unprofessional and I was disappointed with the cracks left between the boards. The installers also left deep marks the wood when moving furniture back into place.
We insisted that the boards be pulled up and replaced (Fred agreed), however replacing boards in the middle of a floor never looks as good as the initial installation. To make matters worse, a few weeks after the installation, we noticed that the powder room sink was leaking onto the downstairs ceiling when draining. I called Fred to discuss and he literally hung up on me.
Prior to installation, Fred had told me that the pedestal sink would be removed to install the floor. After installation, he said the crew did not have to remove the sink after all. I had a plumber come out to repair the leak and he found the drain pipe had been broken. It was very obvious that in their haste to finish the job, the installers chose to lift up the pedestal and jam the boards underneath rather than removing the sink. This shortcut actually broke the PVC drainpipe causing water to drain directly into the wall. It cost me an additional $450 to repair the pipe.

Update 2/16: Floor and Design agreed to replace the tile in our kitchen at no additional cost after it was noted by Schluter that there were no expansion joints in the original install. The install is complete and looks great. I am thankful that they ultimately stood behind their work and did the right thing. Updated 10/26/2015 - do NOT do business with these guys.
The post-install support is horrible. They agree to appointment times and either don't show or text right around the appt time to reschedule with lame excuses. We are having issues with grout cracking and discoloring in our kitchen and it has been like pulling teeth to get them to do anything measurable to correct the problems. There are too many flooring business out there that you shouldn't have to accept poor service for a better price.
Very nice and helpful during the sales process and they did a decent job with the install. However, we've had multiple problems with both the hardwood and tile. Getting them to respond and fix the problems correctly has been incredibly frustrating. They don't call back and repeatedly don't show up for scheduled repairs. I would not recommend these guys.

I recently had new hardwood floors installed in my condo and while the floors look very nice the condition they left my apartment in was terrible. I was left with a tear in my screen door, white glue all over my kitchen table, red stains on my recently purchased couch and floor debris everywhere - not to mention my door was left unlocked when they were finished.
The owner, Fred, could care less and does not respond to emails, phone calls or store visits. When he finally did get back in touch to go over the damage he was a no show for our appointment. Needless to say they do not get my recommendation! Go somewhere else.

Awful. Went there for flooring and they conned me into making a plan with them for my kitchen cabinets as well as my bathroom. After two weeks and multiple visits, the owner/ design consultant didn't even have the decency to contact me personally but had a receptionist call to say they chose two bigger contracts over mine. I was left with nothing but disrespect.
He was bad at responding to emails & phone calls so maybe I should have known. But he was convincing in person & when we did speak. I have been disappointed by this industry as a whole, and Floor & Design did not having any redeeming elements.
