Services
Andrea Gibson formed Gibson Design Group in 2000 in Seattle, WA and moved the firm's headquarters to Charlottesville, VA in 2003. Andrea was previously the principal designer and owner of Architectural Interiors, Inc., a Washington, DC and Seattle, WA based firm, from 1972-1999. During her 30+ years as a principal designer, Andrea has designed residential and commercial spaces across the United States, in Canada, and in the Middle East.
At Gibson Design Group, we work closely with our clients and the members of their remodeling team on creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces in their residence. We provide all interior drawings and elevations, create space plans, assist with architectural edits, and provide all finish schedules.
Gibson Design Group approaches commercial interior design differently than most firms. When we design for commercial clients, we view the design as marketing as much as it is interior design. During the design process, we not only meet with you and your team about space planning and finishes, but we also work with you to thoroughly understand your target market, your corporate culture, and what makes your business unique.
Gibson Design Group works closely with builders and homeowners on spec and custom homes. Typically involved in the building process from the ground up, we provide architectural edits, interior drawings, and space plans, as well as working with the homeowner on specifications and selections. Our involvement in the new construction process does not finish with the preliminary design. We are always available for questions from the builder, superintendents, subcontractors, and, of course, from the homeowner.

We have been working with Andrea on a major renovation involving the interior, exterior and a new addition--getting our home ready for us to age in place. Andrea is very professional and takes real pride in her work. Her years of design experience, extensive contacts and depth of knowledge have added so much to our project. At every step of the project she has been there for us and her attention to detail and thoroughness have helped enormously.
Most importantly, Andrea is a pleasure to work with--she is warm, friendly, and easy to get along with, but she also can be firm when needed, for instance in working with contractors, subcontractors and vendors. Having her on our team, on what could easily have been an overwhelming project, has been a great comfort, and we highly recommend her.

Andrea has excellent design sense and is a pleasure to work with. She has helped with many remodeling projects in the office, from kitchen renovations, supply room and copy room renovations, and an entire office redesign. She not only has an eye for style but for functionality. She intuitively "gets" our style and offers excellent suggestions. I thoroughly enjoy working with Andrea and know that our projects are in good hands when she is involved.

When we moved from Boston to Charlottesville I did not know where to start to decorate our home. We had a bare light bulb in the foyer and dining room. Andrea was "brilliant" at recommending the perfect chandeliers for those areas as well as replacing sconces and breakfast room light. What a huge difference all her suggestions made in updating our house and reflecting our personality.
She was wonderful to work with and understood I wanted to use some of the furnishings we already had. She has great ideas, access to unique resources and the best workers.
