Over our years in production, Cogswell Stone Fabrication has developed a precise methodology in design and installation. We have taken our best experiential knowledge from generations of craftsmen and melded it with computer savvy which gives us a technological advantage over any fabrication house in the Mid-Atlantic.
Lisa is one of the founders of CogswellStone. For the last 18 years Lisa has the responsibility of CFO as well as managing all the companies Human Resources. Lisa's expertise in dealing with insurance companies and financial institutions has enabled CogswellStone to establish a strong position for itself.
We started with a display board in a commercial warehouse that housed our fabrication facility and showroom-if you would call a display board a showroom. From there, we moved on to a one room showroom next to our fabrication shop. We now invite you to visit our warm rustic showroom where you will find yourself surrounded by numerous samples and breathtaking displays of natural stone on 2 levels.
CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) machinery allows for exquisite design - compound curves, drop-through, routed elements and bas-relief. Your design is executed either in-house or taken from your architect's CAD software files (CAD is an abbreviation of Computer Assisted Design, a method common to architects, interior designers and contractors).

We redid our kitchen a few years ago at the same time as some friends. We had ordered a 10.5 long piece of granite countertop which we were told was available. The workers delivered and installed this in two sections with a seam. We contacted the owner. I was prepared for some evasive maneuvering and excuses. To my delight, there was a prompt apology and they came out and removed the already installed pieces and replaced it with one continuous counter.
I was frankly amazed at the integrity and responsiveness of this company. Our friends had ordered their countertops from LXXX's and had a very bad seam, and it was never resolved. Sadly, I have come to expect poor quality workmanship and spurious excuses from workers, and am heartened that people of Cogswell exhibit such forthright integrity.

I would give these guys a ten star rating if possible. I had a small job that involved making a opening in an island slightly bigger for a new cook top. One of the bigger companies came out, said it was a difficult job, and they wanted to take the entire island granite back to the shop (8'x4'). They also said it would probably break and why don't I just get $7000 worth of new counter tops.
I know BS when I hear it. I called Cogswell and with a small electric hand saw they did the job in 15 minutes at the house. Then the guy says I have to charge you for an hour - do you have anything else that needs done? He leveled another counter for us. $200, no BS.
