We purchased a new gas boiler and it was installed by Ed Belanger and crew. Ed was very professional and spent extra time answering all our questions and explaining the new system. The new installation was well thought out and looks better than what was previously there. Everyone was great to work with and all trash was removed and all areas were cleaned to our satisfaction.

HD installed my mini-split AC unit 8 years ago and has serviced it ever since. Every contact I've ever had with them from the folks in the office to their technicians has been professional, prompt, and pleasant. Brian recently responded to my concern that the unit was not producing as well as it might. He thoroughly looked into the problem, explained it all to me, and recommended cleaning the coils. He returned the next day to do that work, which was a surprisingly complex process. Brian did a great job and was very pleasant to work with.

The Hurley David Technicians are fantastic. They are great, caring, and responsive people. They understand what they are doing and are very timely and considerate. Their company, on the other hand, I feel, likes to take advantage of people in the Western MA/CT region. When we first moved to the area 5 years ago, we decided to get price quotes from a few different companies for an installation of Mini split units/systems. Hurley and David were first and the assessor that came was a smug guy who acted like we were chumps.
He gave us a quote of $50,000. We laughed and simply told him to get out of our house. Of course, the other two companies we got quotes from were much more reasonable. Like $30k less in price reasonable. Fast forward 5 years and one of the systems has a leak. Of course, but hey things happen unexpected. We were first reluctant to use Hurley David because we have used them in the past for trying to fix a leak in a pipe, which we fixed ourselves for literally $5, when they quoted us almost a grand.
Their prices scared us but their booking system and convenience were there so we really didn't have much of a choice. We just needed someone to come by and hopefully give us a decent rate or quote this time for an issue that is plaguing us at the beginning of a hot summer. The technician was kind, helpful, actually gave us informative answers to questions and told us what may have to be done to remediate the issues.
Of course, the worst part of the Hurley David experience came around once again.the pricing. Just for trying to find the leak and charging the system, we were quoted started at $1,900. Far above what we later researched is the average. And if they needed to fix something else that was causing the leak, the price would jump even further. Again, no hate to the tech, he was great and just doing his job, but that price is just abusive and wrong.
I would say, convenience is great, but not worth what they are charging. People are getting scammed and honestly, it's worth just finding another company who will charge far less for the same quality service.

A friend recommended that I call this company when I needed a new gas boiler. Anthony came for the estimate. He was very polite and explained everything from start to finish. A couple of weeks went by as I collected estimate from a few other companies. I decided to go with Hurley & David. So, I reviewed their estimate, came up with a few follow-up questions based on what I had been learning from other companies, and called the company back.
I was bounced to 'dispatch, ' who told me that only Anthony could answer my questions. I left a message asking for him to call me. I followed up with an email to him, explaining two questions and letting him know I'd also appreciate a phone conversation with him. He didn't call back. Two days later, I emailed again, again requesting a call back, and he replied to that email but did not call me.
I called the main company line and again was transferred to 'dispatch' and again left a message indicating I would like a conversation with Anthony - who was identified as a 'Comfort Specialist.' He never called me back, but he did send a revised estimate based on my questions - it suddenly had a new change for 'Black Pipe Conversion in the amount of $1800.
As far as I could tell, this had nothing to do with my questions, which were about adding a gas line to a patio grille. He had also added an amount for that line to the estimate. The bottom line is that he never called me back. Finally, I decided to give this one more try, and I called their main number. A very rude woman did not care that my calls were not returned. Instead, she emphasized that the estimate was now over 30 days old and had expired.
I pointed out that the past two weeks shouldn't count as I tried to move forward with the work but my calls were not returned. She raised her voice and repeated that the estimate had expired. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I will not be doing business with them, for sure.

After receiving three estimates, we chose Hurley and David to install two mini-splits. The techs made an installation error and we had to call them back to correct the situation. The units have worked fine since then. But imagine our surprise when we viewed their numerous TV ads offering a $99 air conditioner tune up.and were charged more than double that!
When I called to schedule the tune up, I think I interrupted the man's nap. He was less than informative. I received a call from a woman at Hurley & David saying he was wrong to tell me the service would cost $79.00.it would be $179.00.but I agreed. A tech came to our home, tuned up our units and charged $200.00. We will be looking for a company that honors their TV ad prices and has employees who provide better customer service.

Giovanni Rivera was the technician assigned to provide services. He was on time for the visit and I was grateful for his help. I would describe him as very pleasant, went right on to do his business, very focus on job, explained clearly the problem and did not try to push for me to get a new AC. I was impressed by the tools he used to do the diagnostic.
He was clearly supported by a good company. I did not buy new AC because of being tied up with another home improvement but will call them as soon as I have resources for this project.

I moved to Springfield last fall and contracted Hurley & David to replace the steam boiler in my home. Due to the size and age of the home, the new boiler needed to be constructed on site. In addition to the normal wait time, parts delayed in the pandemic supply chain added to the wait. I ended up finally getting the new boiler in February. The old boiler blew up, so I went through the winter using portable heaters along with AC splits which I had the foresight of having H $ D install.
My experience with this company is wonderful. They responded immediately, they texted me constantly with appt information, their professionalism is unbelievable, and the products are great. Thank God I ordered the AC splits. I made it through the winter because of them. Throughout this ordeal, I met many of their employees. From start to finish, they were all wonderful. I would not - I repeat - would not do business with this company again. They do not stand behind their work. I have paperwork stating that my AC units were under warranty and that another service call was warrantied for one year. That does not seem to matter. They seem to look for ways to not honor those warranties! On top of that, they DO NOT RETURN CALLS! Do yourself a favor and find yourself another company to do business with!

The crew removed our furnace and then installed a new one with a heat pump for first stage heating and AC. The job was supposed to take two days. They finished in one, answered all of my questions, helped me set up connection with my phone, and left my house cleaner than when they arrived. I had gotten three quotes for this job. While all prices were similar, Hurley and David gave me higher quality brands for the money based on my research.
I would definitely recommend this company and particularly the crew I had (Don't know everyone's names but Art was in charge and Andrew helped a lot with all the techy stuff, everyone was wonderful).

Dropped the ball big time. Reprehensible communication or empathy. Lost heat, furnace needed a blower motor. They quoted a price and said they had to order it. Mind you, it's still Winter. Was without heat for a week and a half, had to use space heaters. Simply could not get anyone to give a time frame on when the part would be available. Calls to them almost daily.
Even asked to speak to a manager and never got a callback. ZERO empathy or sense of urgency. They lost a 9 year customer, one who had just dropped almost $7K on a new central A/C unit last Fall with them. Found another company who ordered the part, got it in in about 5 days and gave me a price about $400.00 less. Stay away - they don't know how to treat customers right.

Nathan did a fantastic job getting to the cause of my heating problems. My Bosch system was installed by another company and it was done improperly. He went through the entire system and corrected multiple problems. I can't thank Nathan enough for his knowledge, professionalism, and persistence in repairing my heating system. Day before possible nor'easter, no heat furnace isn't turning on. Pilot is functional. First off was given time frame of 9-12. Ended up getting there around 1230. They checked the wiring and such answered my question ( wrongly) about the thermostat demanding heat and the pilot not working. All said and done said needed a gas valve, which is about 1500-2500 or to replace furnace.
They left after payment. Now 6 hours after have yet to get invoice or quote to replace. But had another company come in and look at my furnace and found that the spark control unit was faulty and fixed it right there for under 150$. Called company to tell them and ask for a refund for bad diagnostic. Was hung up on 2 times before being told manager does not have direct line and they would call me back. Over all will never call Hurley and David again no matter what.

Worst service and Integrity of any company I've ever dealt with. If I could choose negative stars I would. We had Hurley and David replace our Furnace, AC and Water Heater over the summer. We contacted them multiple times to arrange the inspection for the plumbing and other work. They said they had contacted the city but they weren't doing inspections due to Covid. 2 months after the work was completed we filed for Energy Efficiency rebates for the upgraded equipment and were told that the AC unit did not meet the energy efficiency ratings for the rebate.
After numerous attempts and 2 weeks of calls and messages, finally received a call from the Salesperson, Bill Desilets. He stated he had been informed that there is no 16 seer unit (what we were quoted and paid for) for a home my size, and that they had upgraded me to a better unit, however that unit was still not 16 seer and not as efficient. Bill explained that while I was quoted for a 16 seer unit, the unit they intended to install was only 14 seer.
Due to supply issues they had to "upgrade" me to a better unit, that was still only 15 seer. I was never informed of any of this until we filed for the rebates. After some back and forth Bill Desilets said his manager approved a $1550 refund - $250 for the rebate, and $1300 in estimated savings between the 15 seer unit installed and 16 seer we paid for.
They also made arrangements to have the inspection completed, which miraculously they were able to call and have done the same day. The plumbing work failed inspection and needed to be re-done. The plumbing work has been completed, and the updated inspection completed. However HD has failed to ever refund our money and now is not returning calls (most recently yesterday 12/30/21).
This was a clear bait and switch in my opinion- they never had intention to install the equipment they billed me for, never notified me of the changes, and knew they could not (which they confirmed via email) install the agreed on equipment. Customer service is terrible in general also, getting through their call center is impossible. Save your money and headaches and find another company. HD take your money and end their service to you there. We'll be filing a BBB complaint and then contacting an attorney pending the outcome of that. Terrible company.

I don't typically write reviews, just select the stars and move on. I felt compelled to write a review this time. John and Moses were on time and very friendly when they arrived. Set up the work area which stayed neat and orderly. The reason I felt compelled to write this review is because at the start of the process it was communicated this project would not be done in the day timeline promised.
This was beyond disappointing and frustrating which I vocalized strongly to the site manager who came to check in and seemed passive at my concern. Now my review is not to complain, however, it is to commend the extremely hard work that John and his team did to make the project come in on time. John and Moses and the crew who came to my home worked so hard and diligently.
They were professional and friendly throughout the day as I asked questions and nervously paced around the basement. Despite a few hiccups thrown at the end of the process John, Moses and I believe Ed was his name were able to get my furnace installed and running for my family. I know they stayed way beyond what was expected and sacrificed some likely family or personal time.
I want to say it was their work ethic and demeanor and just overall attitude that changed my frustration to satisfaction. I am extremely grateful to them for going above and beyond to complete this project.

Hurley & David advertised a $49 special for gas furnace check-up, do I scheduled an appointment for November 23rd. I waited for five hours but they never showed. I called, and the woman said the 'other girl' tried to call the week before but there was something wrong with our phone. We are retired and home most of the time. The phone is a landline we have never had a problem with.
She said the phone number was correct. I asked why they didn't try again and got no response. No apology, either. I rescheduled for a Monday in late December. A technician called the Thursday before and said they couldn't come on Monday because they had an 'emergency'. They could reschedule for the end of February. Which is also the end of the heating season.
My take? It wasn't worth their time to come to Northampton for $49. False advertising? Maybe. Dishonest? Yes - they shouldn't have scheduled me in the first place, and continued to shine me on. I had them install a mini split last year, but now I wouldn't hire them again for anything.

I am giving them a no star rating strictly because of their customer service. I had mad an appointment well in advance and changed my schedule to be available. The day before, they texted me that their guy could not make it but they would accommodate me in re-scheduling. When I got back to give them some dates that would work, Alicia proceeded to give me dates well beyond anything near what I suggested. That does not sound accommodating to me.

We've been members of the service club with Hurley And David for close to a decade. We've even replaced two HVAC systems with them at the cost of close to $30,000. This company has recently been purchased by a bigger fish and ever since then most of their seasoned technicians have left and overall, service has become a nightmare. We have been spending close to $100 per month for their service contract Only to have our routine maintenance appointments canceled at the last minute several times. Contacting their business manager was of no use as she is completely unreceptive to any customer concerns or complaints. Hurley And David declined to compensate us for missed appointments or to refund any amounts paid for services that they failed to deliver. They are swindlers and do not deserve your business. We will be sure to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well.

I made an appointment over a month ago they called me the day before the appointment and said that they need to cancel my cleaning of the furnace because they are too busy with emergency appointments they can reschedule me to February! They were very rude very unprofessional had no concern that my furnace really needed a cleaning and just kept trying to sell me on a service call instead!

I spoke to 3 so called supervisors who were rude could have cared less and did not try to resolve the awful situation they had created! My advice. DO NOT EVER USE HURLEY AND DAVID!

Shockingly bad service or lack there of. Twice in two weeks they canceled on us and even managed to send the wrong type of tech out once in all of that not showing up. More then that there complete disregard for the customer was very apparent when they said they did not know if they would be able to schedule us at all now. Guess the fact that I scheduled early has only screwed me more because now I can't get anyone else in to help.thanks hurley and david you guys are the best

Made an appointment for a preseason furnace checkout weeks ago. Was told that the tech would arrive between noon and 4 pm so I notified work I would be absent. At 2 Hurley and David called and said that their tech would not be available today. While they explained that they understood my disappointment, they refused to provide any reimbursement or concession. To my ward time. Furthermore they could not reschedule for 2 months out. Hurley and David is not what they ought to be. Strongly avoid this company.

Spent 1600 on a routine cleaning. The next day the heat and hot water stops working entirely. After scheduling an appointment and waiting most of the day, they call back to inform me that they got too busy and won't be showing up for 4 days! My 90 year old grandmother is expected to wait 4 days in 20 degree weather in the middle of February. She and head before these scam artists showed up. TLDR Awful business staffed by inept clowns.

H&D have replaced my aging oil furnace and air conditioning, as well as a new water heater most recently. I have their service plan, and for a reasonable price they come out and take care of the HVAC components on a regular basis. The technicians have always been straightforward with me, and I've had zero problems with everything except a whole-house humidifier, which needed to be replaced and re-routing of the drain hose, and they stuck with the problem until it was taken care of. They've always been responsive, and have a collection of great techs who are polite, respectful of property, and friendly. I would recommend them for sure.

They did a full furnace install for me 3 yrs ago. IT hasn't worked correctly since. Technicians are unable to diagnose the problem. If the equipment was not under warranty, I would use another company to fix it, I may have to use a different company anyway because they have been to my home 4 times (5 including my upcoming appt.) and are unable to correct the issue.
They are always friendly but I'd rather have a rude tech that could repair my furnace.(1/31) they are back again for the same problem and can not diagnose it. I feel Like I'm on a hidden camera show

Hurley and David services my Oil Boiler, and 3 Air Conditioners annually. Since I have had them I have NEVER had a break down.
