Alternative Heat Source is an amazing, family-run business ready to help you with all of your fireplace questions! I recently moved into a house with a beautiful open fireplace. While a delight to watch, it was very inefficient for heating - I felt like I was throwing a log in every few minutes that did little to warm the room. I went to Alternative Heat Source to see what sort of options were available. Carl helped me identify a great option: putting an efficient wood stove partially inside the existing fireplace. Kory came out and walked me through all of the details of what modifications would need to be made to the existing fireplace for the stove to fit and to make sure it was up to code.

To bring the new installation up to code, we needed to have the hearth extended in front of the new stove. Kory measured the granite template - which was really quite detailed - and worked with the granite vendor to make the process seamless. The whole installation was incredibly well run and I couldn't recommend Alternative Heat Source enough! Now, instead of a fire place that did little to warm the room, I have a great stove that only requires a couple of logs every few hours that adds constant heat to the main floor of the house.

I can't say enough about the wonderful experience it has been working with Carl and his team at Alternative Heat Source. My husband and I purchased a gas fireplace from them and they were knowledgeable, courteous, professional. This is our first gas fireplace and we had lots of questions. Carl answered all of our questions and was able to direct us to the appropriate fireplace for us.

When it was time to install the fireplace, Corey came to our home, which is still under construction, and set everything up. He answered all of our questions and told us to call them if we needed him to come back after the home was finished. He would be glad to come back to assure that we were all set. My husband and I are very pleased with the process from start to finish.

I could not be more pleased with my new propane Regency fireplace. Carl, Kory, and Cathy are so easy to work with and very responsive. Kory and team are very knowledgeable and do meticulous work. I highly recommend Alternative Heat Source for all you stove and fireplace needs.

What a terrific experience! Alternative Heat Source replaced my inefficient, outdated propane fireplace with a QuadraFire pellet stove insert and I could not be happier! Kory communicated incredibly well, starting with the quote process, through the ordering and then the day of installation. He did an awesome job of minimizing the mess of the install (perhaps he is magical because I have no idea how my living room remained so clean!) and, before he left, took me through operation and maintenance tips. I would definitely recommend Alternative Heat Source!

Overall very pleased. Alternative Heat Source provides you with support for the entire process including selecting your stove, stone/ mason, mantle and granite. We have installed gas fireplaces with other providers over the years and this is our first experience with Alternative Heat Solutions and we highly recommend them.

Kory and all of the alternative heat team did such an amazing and efficient job on installing our first Woodstove. They squeezed us into a busy and full schedule and got it done! What a wonderful experience from the moment we walked into Alternative Heat source! We were not sure what we wanted but Carl and Kathy helped us decide on the perfect stove and size for our space! Then we decided on a piece of granite to place underneath it. While picking the granite out Kory was helping us through texts, they were guiding us through the entire process.

Then the install went smoothly just a few weeks later. They were very neat and cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend Alternate heat source for all stove needs!

Kory at Alternative Heat Source did a phenomenal job helping us pick out the appropriate propane fireplace insert, choosing the best location for the propane tank as well as running the propane line inside our home, and the actual installation. I cannot rave enough about Kory's professionalism, promptness AND always keeping us in the loop during all phases of the project. I highly recommend Kory and Alternative Heat Solutions.

I can't say enough good things about this company. I was dealing with frost and flame that put me off since September who could not fix my pellet stove after 3 visits so that being said I was without heat since September I finally called this company on Saturday and they were at my house and fixed my stove on Tuesday the repair man was very knowledgeable and respectful who did his job very well I am one happy customer to have found this company. 5 stars for sure!

I bought a Quadra-fire Trekker pellet stove from Alternative Heat Source in October 0f 2019. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional and the stove is excellent quality and runs like a watch. It easily and efficiently heats our large home. I highly recommend this local company.

Kory was great to deal with! We had an appointment with Irving to install the gas lines and tank and Kory rearranged his schedule to be at our home early and have the stove installed before Irving came out that day. After the stove was installed he assisted the Irving tech with the install, and stuck around until the propane was fully functioning. He tested out our stove and showed us how to work the remote and all the features of the stove. I highly recommend their work and professionalism!

I would think twice about using this company. I was in a desperate heat situation in late November 2017. I needed heat in the basement as our primary heat source had failed and it wasn't viable to replace it. I was impressed with this Father/Sons owned company when one of the sons came to give me a quote. That was the end of my good impression.

The two sons decided that it would be a good idea to try and push 3 tons of pellets, up an approximately 150' driveway, backward over the snow. They lost the bumper off the truck, hello? I had to have 2 tons dropped at my church which I (I'm disabled) had to beg friends to help get into the basement. I prepaid for the third ton and when I was getting low, reached out the father/owner of the business to be told "our insurance company won't let us deliver anymore this season our rates will skyrocket" I can't help but wonder when they planned on telling me this?

They know I live hand to mouth on disability yet NEVER shared this information with me. I asked for and received a rebate check. The pellets they sold me SUCKED! They must have made a good margin of that crap! I took the rebate check and bought Maine brand pellets, what a HUGE difference. Cannot in any way recommend this company!
