Fireplace Place The Of Summit

Wish I could provide a positive comment but no one from the store has called me back. I have been in the store 2X seeking repairs to my gas fireplace. Both times the staff have been nice and took my number. But no one has followed up.

Fireplace insert was delivered weeks after promised date. Leaks gas after a year of use. They take days and days to return phone calls. They want to charge a hefty fee to fix it. A reasonable business would repair at no additional charge. It's called good customer support and service. Frustrating.

I drove 30 minutes to visit their store today - The hours posted on their door and online said they should have opened half an hour earlier- no one there and no one answered the phone

On the 8th day, god made the fireplace place to rule over all other fireplaces. And boy do they make sure you know how they know it all and you don't. All I wants is to upgrade my equipment and all the guy did was tell me how wrong my setup was. And it's funny, cause they set it up to begin with!

KD'S review is spot on and very much reflects my own experience. One excuse after another about lack of staff to make a minor repair to their installation. Very poorly run and disorganized business and not at all customer friendly once they have your money. The co-owner Dennis simlpy whines when contacted with a problem. Fortunatley I found Muraca Enterprises which was able to repair my fireplace quickly and at a reasonable cost.

Please, Please, Please proceed with caution(Take note of the multiple bad reviews of this place. Don't make the mistake of buying a fireplace from here or better yet having them install anything). Co-owner(Dennis) of the Fireplace Place appears to have a long history in the business and a fair understanding of the fireplace market. This is where it ends unfortunately!

They lack honesty and customer service(Will constantly lie to you telling you reason after reason why your fireplace isn't ready for install 5 months later?). The reality is they can appear to hold on to employees thus affecting reliable customer service and installation on the back end. Do not agree to give a deposit to this company. Once you do that's when the games begin(Delays, lies and consistent repetitive comments from the owners -" I'm sorry for the 5 month delay but I'm doing the best I can". Really?

Stay away if you truly respect your time and sanity. If you need to purchase a fireplace near the Summit NJ area, consider visiting the Fireplace Centre literally around the corner on Summit Ave(Wish I had done it sooner). Much better selection, service and honesty-Hands down! At minimum before you decide to make your FP purchase visit both competing stores and see for yourself!

While the Fireplace Place of Summit did a beautiful stone fireplace in my home and built a cosmetic brick casing around my metal chimney pipe on the roof, they do not stand behind their work. 5 1/2 years later the cosmetic chimney casing on the roof is cracked at all four corners and they actually are trying to charge me more to fix it than what I originally paid them to have the whole chimney facade structure built.

Very disappointed. They say they have never seen this happen to one of their chimney casings so it must not be their faulty work (?) I had to issue a very large credit to the buyers of my home when I sold, thanks to the severely cracked chimney facade (again- all 4 corners). I don't trust these people and would never hire them again. They say that some other factor must have caused this.

When I asked "like what?" co-owner Dennis even suggested - perhaps the sun! It is more likely that little elves with sledgehammers climbed up on my roof at night. Terrible experience.

Put my deposit down and I'm waiting a month now for someone to actually call me back after multiple phone calls. It's a simple install. The gas line is already there. I just need the insert installed.

Totally professional from the moment I walked in to the shop to inquire about adding a gas, stand alone fireplace on our sunporch to make it a year around room. Dennis and Gus helped me find the type of unit I was looking for and Dennis was able to give me a rough estimate right then. After checking out the job, the Avalon Cypress was ordered and a few weeks later, John and his incredible team installed a gas line and the vented unit, taking care of inspection appointments and permit. Clean, fantastic job! My wife and I could not be happier. I have never looked so forward to winter! Much thanks to you all, gentlemen.

Had a small coal burning fireplace that was too small to burn wood, so we decided on a gas insert. Dennis was easy to work with and very knowledgeable. He helped us pick the right insert for our house. His technicians came and ran the gas line, and installed the insert. Couldn't be happier, it's the best investment I made in my home.

My experience was awful! This guy insisted that they were the only ones that could install it properly and guess what, they messed it up. Because of this, I was unable to use the ($1000) doors that I bought (Stock, not custom) and he gave us a very difficult time returning them.

I have never ever written a good or bad review online.ever! Consumers should know about this place. Bought a fireplace insert and throughout the process Dennis, one of the owners, was constantly lying about deliverables. When things were off schedule and I called Dennis was rude and annoyed that I was calling to check up on timelines that he set and missed.

After installation several parts broke within the first year. When I tried to check on warranty with him and order parts he told me he was taking care of it, then didn't. He so obviously and repeatedly lied about having done what he said he would do that I finally gave up and this review is the best I could do.

I called looking for a screen and was pleased to find they had what I was looking for, with the right price. After confirming their closing time, I told them I would be there to purchase it before they closed. I arrived 45 min before they closed and was told to wait while he waited on the 2 people that arrived before me. He finally asked what I wanted and when I told him I was the one that called, he plainly informed me that he just sold mine to the woman he was currently writing up.

He managed to anger one customer (me) and make the other feel very uncomfortable. Did I mention I drove 30 min out of my way, lugging my 11 week old in his car seat? These kind of small business owners are what drive me to Amazon and other big stores!

These guys impressed me. The owner is on top of his game in my opinion. He's certainly has a lot of business, by the number of calls his staff was taking. He seemed to be able to handle it all with courtesy and a smile. He still had time for me, and answered my questions well. His prices were reasonable, with no surprises. His installation crew was surprisingly neat and clean.

They are a registered Home Improvement contractor, and use a Licensed Electrician to do their electrical hook up. That gave me peace of mind. I would certainly recommend them to my friends.
