For over 30 years, Cascade Custom Pools has built an excellent reputation for fine pool construction in Austin and in the surrounding communities. We have been owned and managed by Hank Thompson since our inception in 1982. Cascade is a very hands-on, locally owned business. Owners, Hank and Theresa Thompson have lived in the Bee Cave-Dripping Springs area for over 30 years.
He made the process feel very seamless and we very much appreciate his communication and attentiveness. I wanted to take a moment to thank you for taking care of the issues related to our pool. When the cleaner line developed a leak, Cascade Custom Pools went above and beyond to take care of the problem.
All of our projects are supervised by the owner, Hank Thompson. We are a small hands-on company which allows for superior quality control of your construction site. Because we have been building pools in this area for over 30 years, we have been able to attract and retain loyal crews that are the most experienced and talented in Austin.
There are many phases to the pool construction process. Some of the phases can be messy, but with over 30 years of experience, you can trust that you will end up with a pleasant experience and beautiful waterscape. Remember, you have to break some eggs to make an omelet. The process starts with a meeting at your proposed location.

Our experience with Cascade was professional and went above and beyond out expectations during the entire process, including pool maintenance support after the project is done! Shane worked with our wishlist, budget, and backyard to come up with a custom design that was more than we dreamed of. We got estimates from other companies, but the designs were generic and did not fit our yard and house the way Shane's did. Shane had great ideas and concepts that he worked with to create a perfect design.
We started wanting a pool only, and by the end we had a beautiful covered patio that extends our outdoor living space into the pool decking. The construction process was just as smooth as the design. Communication with Shane was always prompt, thorough, and professional. He returned every call within less than an hour, and answered all of my many questions.
He kept us in the loop on every step, and let us know what workers would be at the house and when. There were a few minor issues/changes during construction and Shane was helpful in fixing the situation. The solutions we agreed on were even better than the original design! At the end of the process, we were very happy that we went with Cascade. We are constantly stopped by our neighbors to compliment us on the beautiful new addition.

After meeting with several pool builders and getting several quotes, my husband and I decided to go with Capital Custom Pools (Austin). Shane Pike, General Manager, met with us several times to review and refine our pool designs even before we signed a contract. The other companies were slow to get back with us and got frustrated because we didn't make a decision on the spot. Shane did not.
He understands that a pool is a huge investment and his main goal is for his customers to love their pool and for the process to go as smoothly as possible. He was very candid with us about what features he thought we needed or (more importantly) didn't need, and he was patient through the process as we made changes. Aside from the most important factor in working with a pool builder, which is having a beautiful well-functioning pool at the end of the process, we greatly appreciated the fact that Shane made himself available to us from beginning to end and beyond.
This is our second pool build and I can say from experience that this is not usually the case. We were happy with the end result of our first pool (built in another state), but the process was extremely stressful because it generally took days for our builder to get back with us. Shane always got back to us right away, often in less than an hour. No matter how big or small the question or issue, he took everything seriously and dealt with things personally and quickly. Overall, we love our pool and the experience building it was very low stress.

First, let me cut to the chase, I highly recommend Capital Custom Pools and Shane, the General Manager! This is my first pool, so I came into this pretty uneducated and Shane was very patient with me during the entire project, explaining the process and what to expect. He is an extremely experienced pool builder and beyond professional and responsive.
He makes you feel like you're the only customer he has and follows through even after the pool build is finished. If you want a high-quality gorgeous pool, you must hire this company. Builder Selection Shane and his staff were extremely patient as I tried to align the very differing proposals, breaking costs down as I requested. His proposal was easy to understand and was straightforward, not hiding costs in various categories as most of the other builders did.
I felt I got a very fair estimate. While their proposal was not the lowest, I chose them because I felt very comfortable with Shane, his knowledge and he's just an overall really nice guy. Another reason I chose them was because he was the only builder to submit the design to our HOA without my even asking! He kept me informed as the process with them progressed.
Design I already had a pool design done by another builder but wanted to get estimates from other builders. I called five and Shane was the first to to respond. We met that week and I was very impressed by his professionalism. He looked at our design, asked really good questions about the pool and how we thought we would use it. He also made some suggestions that had to do with the actual usability of the pool.
He took the paper based plans and some screen shots and recreated the design using his own pool design software. We had several design meetings either at his office or at my home. He patiently tweaked the details as well as the bigger things until we were satisfied with the design and the materials. Build Shane managed this project like clockwork and the only time the progress slowed down was due to weather.
He kept me informed of who was coming when and what was expected to be accomplished in that given time. His contractors were very skilled, polite and was respectful of our property. The project wasn't trouble free by any means but at each step, Shane oversaw the work being done, making changes either at my request or because he wasn't satisfied.
None of which were charged to us. Shane and his staff were so responsive to all of my questions, concerns and me calling him and telling him that one of the pool walls wasn't being done to design, he stopped the work and redid it to design. There's so much more to write but that would make this review too long to want to read. Our pool is amazing and we're extremely happy with the result.
Also I didn't feel that once the pool was finished Shane would disappear. In fact, he's still very responsive when we have a question or trouble with the equipment. I would highly recommend Capital! Shane and his staff are honest, knowledgeable, demand high quality from the contractors and I can't say enough about their responsiveness.

The Cascade team has been an absolute pleasure to work with. From inception to execution, Cascade went above and beyond to deliver an amazing pool. TJ, my main point of contact, made himself available any time I had questions or concerns, and even months after the pool is built, continues to check in to ensure everything is properly functioning. If there are any questions or issues, their team responds immediately. Hands down one of the best service providers I have ever worked with.

I referred a client of mine to Cascade Pools. We were having a hard time finding a pool company that would work with my clients budget. They worked with our budget and came up with a pool and hot tub that was absolutely beautiful. My clients were so happy. After visiting with several swimming pool designers I found that Tj and Tyler from Cascade really captured our vision and concept we where trying to achieve. Not to mention it was built in a timely manner. Hank the owner is a very hands on guy, and was SUPER patient with my ridiculous questions. A stand up family business, that I would recommend to anyone looking for a custom pool in Austin. Thanks guys!

Cascade just finished my pool a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely love it! They built such an amazing waterfall and I absolutely loved the colors of the tile and stone they helped me pick! I had people over to celebrate the new pool and got tons of compliments! I definitely reccomend using Cascade. They were super easy to work with and I am more than pleased with the design and final product results!

Cascade has performed above and beyond with their professional, hands-on approach from start to finish to ensure that we felt like we were apart of the pool designing process. Not only did they help cater the pool design to fit in perfectly with our backyard size and landscape, they also helped accommodate our pool with a custom built outdoor kitchen.
A custom pool by itself is one thing, but with the addition of a supplemental outdoor kitchen to the experience has been fantastic. Our previously rarely-used backyard has truly transformed. Now there are always outdoor parties and even the neighborhood kids come over to swim and enjoy it. Any minor pool maintenance issues we have had have been taken care of promptly by Cascade to make sure we are getting taken care of. Overall it was a great investment and I would recommend Cascade to anyone looking at getting pool in Austin. Thanks again Cascade!

Hank Thompson and Cascade pools did a wonderful job on our pool. The layout was fantastic, built on time, and finished fantastically.
