I would recommend Overhead to anyone! The company that originally installed my garage door refused to service it. I called on Monday afternoon & on Tuesday morning Ernie was able to assist me with servicing my garage. He was patient, knowledgeable, and very thorough! I did not catch the lady name that answers the phone but she was great as well. If anyone needs their garage serviced I would recommend them!

The Most Horrifying Experience In This Customers Life! In Reply To Their Response: Two emails & a phone call had to be made to get a response from this company. The person answering the phone asked for the address 5-6 times, then asked to have the street address spelled several times, each time asking the female customer to speak louder. The female customer asked to be taken off speaker phone yet she was denied.
They stated they were having phone trouble, they had to keep it on speaker phone. A gentleman listening in on the conversation began to yell over the phone at the female customer. The female customer was never notified that the specific part required by the manufacturer for the repair had been discontinued when given the estimate. This company then confirmed via the phone call -that the female customer was then switched to a lesser value product that was not recommended by the manufacturer. -the garage doors bottom metal tray was removed with the old seal and destroyed by Capital City, who admitted that the reason the water was pouring in was because there was no metal tray. -they admitted they performed a non-authorized Manufacturer repair and the seal that was requested (which is part specific to that particular door and only provided by an OHD rep) was discontinued.
The female customer requested that they refund their money ($300), she was denied. Instead they sent their service personnel to remove a 311 seal and tray from an old used stock door sitting in the back of their warehouse. They now state that they would have sold this old part that was covered in dirt and debris to the female customer as a new boxed part at $494.00 The female customer suffered irreparable damage to their garage door when the service men drilled screw holes in the front of the garage door to install the first non-authorized standard weather-stripping and flange.
When they returned to put the used Banner 311 seal and tray on the door she was told that the holes were her problem and they would not fix them. 10 open screw holes were left in the bottom panel of the front side of the garage door. Do Not Use The Company! Find someone else to do your garage door repairs. I called around for an estimate on replacing the bottom weather-stripping since it appeared to look worn on the edges and was fixing to update my garage.
I was told I had to go to an Overhead Door rep because this particular part is part specific to the type of door so I had to call Capital City Overhead Door. Very nice young lady quoted a price and the guys came out to replace it. I did not receive the OHD replacement kit that is recommended for the door but instead got a rubber linear that was cut to fit and screwed to the bottom of the door.
They removed my entire aluminum track, weather shield stripping and flange from the bottom of the door so I have no metal strip in the void. I now have water pouring into my garage every time it rains. When I called I was informed that the weather-stripping they attached was not designed to prevent water from entering the garage only to stop dirt and debris.
I was then told that the part that I requested an estimate on and thought I was getting had been discontinued and they put what they thought would work, never informing me of the fact they couldn't get the OHD part that I had requested and understood would be needed. After emails and a phone call (in which I was talked to very rudely and yelled at by the man on the phone and older lady) they then said they would call all around the world to see if they could find the correct part and then give me a price on the part and the shipping to get it!
Like Really. No Way am I paying another penny to this company. Don't use them because they will take your money and do sub par work. Their customer service is nothing but a banter of being degraded, ridiculed, and talked down to as a customer. Grant it the young lady and the men who came out were nice and great but the owners are noting but verbally ugly and rude.

March 15, 2022 I walked in Overhead Doors in Zachary, La. I told Yvette, the owner, that I thought my spring was broke on my garage door. How much would it cost to change the spring. I have been doing business with George and Yvette Knight for over 36 yrs. Yvette asked me why I didn't get them to install my 2 garage doors 4 yrs. ago. There was a big difference in price when compared to Pat's Garage Doors.
She said that Pat's doors are cheaper made. Pat's use Lift Master which is a very good door. She said it would cost between $395 and $495 to change the spring. I said I was not going to pay that much. She told me to take a picture of the spring and she could give me a price. I sent a picture and she texted back $295. I said OK come tomorrow. The Tech arrived on time 8:30 AM.
He told me it was not the spring, it just needed adjustment. I said great how much is your service call. He said that he would have to call to get the price. I'm thinking no more than $150. He fixed the door and serviced both doors. It took less than 30 min. He called in and said it would be $275. I was shocked. $275 for a service call? He said that is what they told me.
The next day March 17, I went in the office and had George come outside so we could talk. I asked him don't you think $275 is excessive for 30 min service. He said everything has gone up. His truck needed an engine and transmission it cost $25,000 to fix. He blamed Biden, insurance, fuel, materials. At this point I knew that I was not going to get a refund.
The end of discussion. Then his wife steps out, she must have been eavesdropping. She got rude and told me to get Pat's Doors to give me a refund because they didn't tighten the rod when they installed it. I told her I didn't want to talk to her any longer and drove off. I'm 70 years old and until now, I have never paid $275 for a service call. Not for AC, appliances, plumbing or any other repair. In a way I'm glad. I still saved $1000 and I will never have to call Overhead Doors of the Capital City in Zachary ever again.

Excellent Customer Service!- I was locked out of my house this morning and my garage key needed to be replaced (recently bought a house so it was over 15 years old) but Mr. George and another man helped me so much and they showed me how to get the old key to work so I could get back into my garage and program the new key. I can't thank them enough for the extraordinary customer service they gave me this morning. I was so happy they were open early. This is a wonderful and helpful company. I definitely recommend their services.

The team at Capital City Overhead Door were awesome to work with! I submitted an online request on Thursday evening and had an appointment confirmation by 8am on Friday. Joe and Jacob called ahead to let me know when they'd be here and they were right on time. They quickly assessed the problem and got right to work showing me the root cause and making suggestions to keep the door operating long into the future. Joe and Caleb are true craftsmen and couldn't have been more polite and professional and I would happily recommend them to friends and family. Very much appreciate quality work and first rate customer service.

We have been extremely satisfied with Overhead Door! This awesome company installed and serviced our garage doors at our first home in 1995 to 2011, and because of the excellent service and top-rated product and it's durability, we utilized their services at our new home we built in 2012 and continue to do so to this current date. One of the most important reasons Overhead Door has kept us proud of our garage doors and the service is because of Ernie!
He has been the most caring, pleasant and highly efficient and knowledgeable of the expertise he has provided us with through many years. He follows through on his commitment to service! We highly recommend Overhead Door and Ernie!
