Green Homes & Additions By FINISH WERKS

I've been putting off writing a review so my emotions wouldn't affect what I write. Truth be told Finish Werks is very knowledgeable in modular homes, but I think I just got their B team. They did have to put the inspector in his place when he would make absurd requests, and I'm not sure if other contractors would have the knowledge and confidence to overrule the inspector.

Now the bad stuff -They aren't very good and paying their subcontractors as the dirt and crane guys both tried to come after me for money that was owed to them. -They don't work very fast Several times I had to call the Forman and go over his head and call Harris to see why the guys weren't on site -Quality of the workers They over-dug the foundation, put in pads and columns crooked, missed installing hurricane straps, put the house in the wrong spot by over 8 etc.

Somehow every issue seemed to be my responsibility to fix since my Forman was MIA half the time and they were very busy stretched very thin at the time. Just talk to any contractor that has dealt with Finish Werks, most will admit it was a nightmare. In the end I did get a great house and it's still standing a year later but if I were to do it over I would use someone else.

If you have or are going to choose Finish Werks my advise is to get a timeline in writing and make sure they pay their subs before you give them their final payment. You don't want anyone trying to put a lean on your brand new house.

I have known the owner and his team for a few years. They are very knowledgeable about the home building process and are experts in the " green building" trend. They strive to build houses that are very energy efficient and as close to net zero as possible. I would recommend Finish Weeks to any one looking to build a house in the state of Maryland. Keep up the good work.

I work with Harris and his team at Finish Werks and they are a very conscientious builders. They honestly care about the customers they build for. Harris is active in associations that promote factory built housing and increase its development.

Owner is very knowledgeable about all aspects of modular building. Appreciate the high performance/energy efficiency of the Finish Werks homes. Crews onsite are very personable and happily answer any questions they are asked. Happy with the whole process.

I would give 10 stars if I could! If you are looking for top notch service look no further Finish Werks is the best! The owner Harris has great customer service skills and always puts his customers first.

We had a terrible experience with Finish Werks. Finish Werks failed to ensure our home was watertight, after it was delivered, and we sustained water damage and mold growth as a result. After the damage was done, Finish Werks failed to take responsibility for their actions. In fact, we never received an apology. The owner told us that water damage is "part of the normal building process." Getting drywall, insulation, and flooring wet to the point of mold growth is not part of the normal building process.

Then he blamed the water damage on the amount of rain we got. The truth is that he should have tarped the roof because there were two areas that were missing shingles, which is where the water came in. One of his employees even admitted this after the fact. However, the owner lacked basic building knowledge to understand this simple concept. The level of unprofessionalism thereafter was shocking.

Finish Werks did not have a ladder tall enough to get to the roof to shingle the places where the water got in, so one of his employees asked to borrow ours. The builder also did not have proper tools to quickly remove the wet building materials from the house, which resulted in more mold growth. This builder talks a good game, but lacks the basic knowledge, skills, tools, and integrity to deliver what he promises. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Harris is incredibly knowledgeable in all aspects of modular home building. Learned so much information from one phone call. Highly recommend!
