Jose, the inspector that came and recommended repairs in my basement, was very personable and friendly. I felt that he gave me good advice regarding what needed to be done and he walked me through every stage of the repairs. The crew that did the work was led Jacob. The entire crew was friendly, fast, and professional. Jacob coordinated the work with me and answered all of my questions.

Once the work was done, Jacob walked me through each piece of the project and explained exactly how the waterproofing system would work. I feel confident in the work they performed. I would recommend JES to anyone that asked!

JES Foundation Repair did an excellent job of installing a drain system in our basement to keep the water out and a drain system in the backyard to keep water from pooling. The estimator came on time and did a great job of explaining what was happening and what our options were for correcting the issue. He looked at our whole house inside and out to ensure that he had all the information he needed and he was clear about what was required work and what was recommended work.

When the team came out to do the job (Tyrone, Donte, and Abdul), they were on time every day. Each morning, they explained what they would be doing that day. Each afternoon, they explained what they had accomplished, when they would arrive the next day and what they would be doing. We were always informed about the status of the work and were aware of when the loud work would be done so we could plan our day around that. I am very satisfied with the professionalism of the staff and the work that was done.

I discovered water leaking in the basement of my new (6-year-old house) and determined I would need commercial waterproofing work done. JES was recommended by someone who used the service. After meeting with the sales rep and the pending work was explained, I contracted JES to do the work. From start to finish, everyone involved was polite, respectful, and professional.

The job was completed and along the way, the crew (Dustin Taylor, Brandon Warren, and Reginald Fredrick) kept me informed of what was going on and pointed out other concerning issues about the house foundation. I can say that they didn't stop until the job was complete. Good crew and I enjoyed the conversations.

Howard came to out home the day after we reached out to JES for an appointment. He was extremely thorough, explaining every step of the process and educating us on the issues our home is facing. We were impressed with his knowledge, thoroughness and how professional he was. I will say, the appointment took far longer than we had expected; Howard arrived at 6 pm and didn't leave until 10 pm.

I wish someone might have given us a heads up that appointments can be lengthy; we would have planned accordingly. No one wants to dump a bunch of money into their foundation (in our case the house is over 100 years old), but we are confident JES is the right team for the job. In fact, the next morning, my neighbor mentioned he saw the JES vehicle in our driveway and told us he had also used JES to deal with his foundation issues and had an excellent experience.

We're not thrilled that the wait time to get the ball rolling on the job is 3-4 months, but that's probably how it is with every company. We were swayed by Howard's knowledge and thoroughness, the company's reputation, and the guarantee. Though we haven't actually had the JES team work at our home yet, so far the process has been impressive.

Beaware, this company will not do the job you ask for, but do a job and take your money. Now I'm in the fight of my life to get JES to get the job done right. No integrity at all. (Water spots from rain after 2 weeks from install.)

Rafael Garcia's team with Sylvester Bangura did an outstanding job. The work looks extremely professional, I would suggest if you have any foundation issues to call JES Foundation and ask for a quote! I needed the work to look professional and direct the water to my drain hole. I will test it in the coming days but feel confident this will successfully take care of my water problems. Also make sure to inquiry for Rafael's team to be part of your install team.

These guys come out and sell a great story about the only way to fix a leak in your basement is through full foundation repair and their patented devices. They then offer you a price that saves thousands of dollars if you sign immediately, with the option to cancel in 3 days. We signed, and the next day the builder of our 3 year old home came out to inspect the leak.

He informed us that the proposed $16k solution was already present since it is Virginia code in new homes. I canceled the contract in person the same day and was informed that the almost $4k deposit would be sent to me within 2 weeks. Three weeks later, we check in with JES and they "made a mistake" and now it will take another month to get the refund.

When I asked to get it done faster, I was told only a member of management would be able to authorize that. Of course, they were in a meeting and would be unavailable until the following week. I'm still waiting on the return phone call and the refund. Right now, all I see is an unrepeatable business that uses high pressure sales tactics to convince homeowners to pay for work that doesn't need to be done and refuses to refund money owed per their own contract in a timely fashion.

Bryan Rutherford clearly is an expert on foundation management. He and Wesley Smoot made an effective and efficient team. Supervisor D. Cooper set them up for success. They were well informed on the job details prior to arrival. We are happy with the repair and outcome. Service: Foundations

During the seven months of the initial indication that I have foundation issues, I have obtained four estimates, and only two reports were given to me, and one of the reports was from JES. JES provided a thorough, educational, and detailed overview of their company, my issues, their team, and what I will be receiving for the cost. My inspector, Howard was very professional, friendly, and stuck to the facts which were indicated from his experience, laser readings, and measurements.

His expertise and the delivery of the information allowed me to have a clear understanding of my issues and how they could be resolved. He offered options for the level work for the project and payment. Again, based on his expertise and the information he obtained from my house (measurements, walk-through, pictures, laser readings), I was able to make a conscious decision to move forward with JES.

I have had various estimates and recommendations; however, none were as thorough and concise as JES. Overall, they have saved me money addressing two of my issues (fireplace chimney and foundation) and provided me with the peace of mind that my home will be safe and sound. I'm looking forward to working with them!

Really bad experience. Things looked promising after my meeting with the salesperson (duh I guess). Got a discount and even left his number - said to call if I needed anything. Had to jump through a lot of hoops to get time off specifically to be there for the two day install. Two days before the install, they called to tell me that, although they got the permit, they couldn't get the inspector out because the county was closed that day.

This should have been known and addressed by the company before hand - PERIOD. Jumped through more hoops getting another 2 days off for the next attempt. When the day came, they didn't show. When I called, the operator was rude. They wanted to schedule again but I wasn't willing to go strike three with them. Took a month to get my money back. Oh and remember the dude who left his number? No answer and no call back after I left a message with him addressing the issue. Look elsewhere.

Jaime, Armando, and Sylvester were all highly professional, informative, consistent, and friendly! Even with the inclimate weather, all of the work was done in a timely manner. They called to let us know when they would be here, which meant a lot. They cleaned up after each visit and even put down dirt and seeded the path they used to get to the basement!

This is a top notch company and we would recommend them to anybody who needed any of their services! Thank you all so very much for giving our basement living space back to us.

We had an inspection done before moving. I however think the inspector missed a lot of things. Mike Burgess came out inspected the foundation. He called prior to coming out and alleviated our concerns. Thanks so much!

The crew came out even in the recent snow! On time every day. Personable, courteous, informative. Checked in with us on each step. The work they do is difficult and takes such a range of skills. I had dealings with JES last year (2021) and can only say that every 1 star review seen on here was well deserved. My only saving grace was paying by credit card and disputing the charges. I didn't get a solution to my issues, but I was able to salvage some of the cost. JES wasn't happy and I was told my warranty would be voided if I didn't pay.

This wasn't really an issue since their solution didn't address/correct my problem. RUN, don't walk away from these phonies. Better yet, don't waste your time or energy on calling in the first place.

Abdul Kargba, Diego Rodriguez and the third worker that came with them did an amazing job waterproofing our basement. Super quick and professional. They showed up on time every day, cleaned even the smallest dirt from inside and outside, they were respectful and polite. They finished the job before the deadline. Great quality! The two star rating is based purely on our experience for a quote, as we did not hire JES for the foundation repair. We solicited several companies. JES was responsive to the initial inquiry, but the high pressure sales tactic (sign within 24 hours for a discount) was off putting and actually felt like a timeshare sales "closing" tactic. In comparison to other companies that came to review the issue, we found that JES provided a minimum of information (brochure), and the hand drawn sketch was inferior to the extensive and detailed explanation of the other choices.

When making an investment of this nature, and faced with a significant issue, we would need more than a simple sketch to make an informed decision. In addition, when questioned about an additional issue, the response to "just watch it" was not comforting. We found that the follow up phone calls, and emails were pressure filled to make a decision ("I have to report in") rather than ensuring that as a homeowner, our questions were answered to our satisfaction.

Quite frankly, the pressure to make an immediate decision was the reason we took JES out of the running. In our opinion, no one should be putting that type of pressure to make this kind of decision, specifically when it takes a while (months) to get through the permitting process and then to get on their schedule. A reputable company would understand that you would naturally get several opinions, and also take the time to educate you on: what is causing the problem, what the options are for remediation, the associated costs, timeline, outcomes and warranties.

Jay H., Lee Stark, Kevin R. And Dequan D. went above and beyond to give us superior service from start to finish. We used JES to do a drainage job at our commercial rental property and we are pleased with the quality of the work and the professionalism of the team. They required minimal supervision and reported out to us to provide status on a regular basis. Thanks JES for making this project easy!

We used JES to shore up the portion of the house sitting on a slab that was slowly sinking and separating from the rest of the house. I was very impressed at the speed at which Rudy and David were able to complete the work, finishing in only 2 days. They were able to close up the stair-step cracks in the outer wall, and the fact that their work is guaranteed for life makes me feel ensured that they will resolve any issues should anything go wrong. Moises, their supervisor, was very respectful and quick to bring and pick up the machinery needed to perform the work. We would go with JES again should any other part of the house (or any other house) need structural work completed.

Disappointed. I called them about a leaky basement. They convinced me it was a sump pump issue and I needed a new one. I had been told that by another company so I said okay. They quoted me the cost for the sump pump and some other smaller projects and took the deposit. They never called to set the appointment. When I called to follow up, they said the paperwork had to be redone.

So I filled, scanned, emailed the paperwork and still no call to set appointment until I again followed up. At this point they've had my deposit for over a month! The people who installed the sump pump were great! However after all the headache and money spent, the basement is still leaking. I won't use them again.

The crew who worked on our crawlspace encapsulation (John R, Clifford S, and Derek T) were excellent! They did a great job explaining everything that they were going to do, and answered all of our questions throughout the day. They also did an incredible job of sealing off their work area, ensuring that everything was contained within the crawlspace.

The only reason why I did not give 5 stars was not related to the team that did the work, but some difficulty with getting an updated version of the contract after some changes were made. Customer service was super friendly, and tried to help, but it took a lot of effort to remind them to send the documents as requested. I would still highly recommend JES based on the quality of their work.

Canceled two appointments in the same week. In addition stated they couldn't give me written foundation inspection. Only repairs. But didn't tell me that until 2 days before my closing after failed appointments.

We had a date setup for poly renewal to lift the sidewalk. The date is as over a month after we signed the contract. They were schedule to complete the work between 8am- 11am. At 10:30am I called the company because nobody had showed up. They told me their guy had 2 flat tires on the way over, but was getting it fixed and would still get the job done.

At 2:45pm they call to tell me he got held up at a earlier appointment and would not make it today. This is frustrating because they told me he was coming to my house first. Hard to tell what is truth or fiction with these folks. It's clear that they don't believe service or the customer's time counts for anything. Bottom line: this company did not meet their commitment today. UPDATE: the JES staff assisted with the timely cancellation of the contract and the full refund of my deposit. My day was wasted and sidewalk still not fixed, but the company did refund the deposit without difficulty.

I had written a positive Google review on JES because the salesperson was oh-so attentive and helpful in the beginning. I have since rescinded this review because my basement has been torn up for 5 months and JES has been unresponsive. I have a pending complaint with the BBB. In short, I was told that the waterproofing would involve removing about 2 feet of drywall along the bottom of the walls, so to save money, I opted to replace the drywall myself. JES removed the entire walls, including wood paneling, and cut all of the studs so they are just hanging there, swinging in the breeze.

They have told me that the studs would fall under "drywall replacement" and is my responsibility. Subsequent contacts to higher level managers have not been returned. Final inspections have not been completed to the county's satisfaction. See attached picture of my current situation and use caution when considering using this business.

The sales person was very aggressive. I ended up hiring them to do the work. Their work did not pass Fairfax county inspection for the electrical outlets. The sales person convinced me to hire an outside electrician whom he recommended, installed a separate outlet which was not needed. All I needed to do was change the existing outlets to GFI. I was not told this, and now I need to change all of the other outlets near the pump.

This will now cost me more money beyond what I already spent which was way too much. It makes me suspect that the rest of the job was substandard. Unfortunately, the inspection and the inspector did not even Open up the pump to make sure it was installed correctly. The sales person, Dan Crom, twisted my arm into putting a positive review on yelp three months before the job was even installed.

He told me he would get me on the expedited list. That never happened. I waited three months. And they couldn't even get the job right for the electrical permits to pass.

I hired JES Foundation Repair in November 2020 for crawlspace repair work. Since 2020, the JES hasn't been to pass the Arlington County inspection process. Their crawlspace repair work is not permitted! As a result, I can not sell my home with open/active permits resulting from the poor quality of work performed by JES Foundation Repair. The last response I received from JES Foundation Repair is, "Hello Michele.

After informing our management team, we were informed that, the final inspection failed as not all the permits were pulled. This is being rectified, so we can reschedule the inspection. We will schedule the final walk through and are actively working to address these issues listed. We will continue to communicate as we work through each item. Thank you, JES Foundation Repair."

We had a crawlspace under half of our basement that was a nightmare before JES came and made it wonderful! The amount of work that they did, the time they took to complete it and the final results were amazing! The team of Tyrone, Brandon and Donte were very good and totally professional. It was hard work but they got it done in half of the time estimated to us.

We can now get our stuff out of a public storage facility and use this space for storage. We are very pleased with JES and will highly recommend them to all of our friends and family!

This company is absolutely awful and has no customer outreach/contact. The Superintendent Rich is very charming and talks a good talk with zero follow through. I was almost suckered in to letting them "make it right" But when you call, text, get no response and Rich doesn't show up to you're scheduled appointment. I'm done! And the General Manager George is just as useless!

All I want now is for them to complete the finish work I need for the crawl space door I've already paid them for! If you contract with this company, this is the quality of work for a minor project you can expect. Full disclosure, I asked them to hold off on finish work until we could reevaluate the initial contract works for crawlspace & since the salesman was so uneducated he didn't realize what he was recommending for poli fill for a space that wasn't even on a slab, I wanted a new evaluation/quote.

I would 200% NEVER recommend even getting an estimate or contracting from JES, especially not the Baltimore office. I'll definitely read Yelp reviews before I trust google! 10/10 do not recommend. wouldn't trust them to walk my dogs much less w/my houses foundation The 2nd pic is what my crawlspace door that I've already paid $1400 for looks like and JES could care less.

JES is not responsible and not reliable. As a customer, we waited for more than 5 months for the permit to be approved, as of today, the permit is still pending with the county. Everytime I call JES, they always said they have huge backlog and use that as their excuse for the delay. If they have backlog, why can't their management team come up with a process improvement? JES also started the work at my house without a permit, after 2 hours of work, somebody from the government put a stop order and put stickers and orange warning paper in front of our house that made our house looks bad. But JES doesn't care about how their customer feels. I would never work with this company again and I would never recommend them.

Avoid these people. We asked them to check out our basement for a quote to fix a very minor leak in our basement. They sent us a sales guy who tried to use hard-sell tactics to get us to sign for $20k worth of work that night. He pulled out all the stops: 1. Tried to ingraciate himself with us with aimless chit-chat 2. He made a big production of looking things over 3.

He showed us a slide presentation about the company, the work they do, nightmare cases, etc. 4. He definitely wanted my wife there to hear his pitch (probably figuring that women are easier to scare) 5. He slow rolled and talked us to death, like a car salesman trying to win a sale from a tired and frustrated buyer. We cut him off, asked for our quote, and bid him good night. We checked out their reviews afterwards. There is no way we are giving them our business.

Having issues with the way they did our crawl space encapsulation and need management to contact us with our issues. Very hard to get a hold of anyone. We are very limited on time per our contract with issues and will not be able to have time to resolve in a timely manner if they do not reach out to their customers.

Left a mess. Did not follow the contract. Workers buried trash under plastic. Didn't plug in sump pumps and broke dehumidifier along with other debris under crawl space and outside my yard. Looking to litigate

Dan Crum was great he showed up on time and was wearing his mask. hHe came and inspected are townhouse foundation and told as what we need to do he was very honest. Dan explained everything and why and what we needed to do. I would definitely recommend JES Foundation Repair.

JES made it right! Richard the superintendent was AMAZING ALL THE WAY AROUND! The way he carries himself and his team is amazing! Great guy, it's because of him i will continue to call JES for any water or fountain work and repair. He came out looked at the worked apologize for it and got it done correctly. Have been nothing but problems. Been waiting 3 months to try to get a permit approved with PWC. They are being paid thousands of dollars because they have experience and should know what the county is looking for in permits. It takes a month every time they submit a permit. My family has been without a home for 4 months. I will continue to update as the process goes on.
