Rutgers Fence

They replaced one side of my back fence last year. They used wood that looked like rejected pieces and replaced a dozen or so however leas than a year later most of them are splitting, warping and peeling. They also put the fence over a couple sprinkler heads. This was a long time business in this town and even though I felt it was overpriced I thought the quality would be good being that they were in business for so long. Silly me.

Unfortunately the business has closed. The pandemic combined with overpriced services and over promise/ under deliver practices made this one of the casualties of capitalism.

Rutgers Fence installed a fence at my parents house and my mom recommended them. I contacted them about an estimate and received an email back that they "would be happy to schedule an estimate" but July 7th at 1-1:30 was the earliest they could come out for a quote. They asked for me to respond if that date worked for me and a phone number to contact me on that day.

I responded back that that works and provided my cell. On July 7 no one showed up. I called at 1:45 to cask when they'd be here and the woman who answered simply told me "well he's still out." Unsure of exactly what that vague response meant I asked Could she call "him" and ask when he'd be here because my appointment time was 45 min ago. She seemed annoyed to have to check this information and just asked where I live.

I told her and she said "well we don't even service that area." Shocked I asked how that could be when I have a confirmation email from the company and I told her the name of the person who emailed me. Her response was "she should have never been scheduling estimates without running it by me. Sorry." And that was it; I'd waited 2 weeks to make a decision on which fencing company to use based on this last estimate and not only did they not show up or call, I was scheduled by their employee who didn't even know their service areas. Terrible customer service. Would not recommend.

Highly recommend we used them for our fence in both front side and backyard for dog run they did an amazing job! Very professional installation and customer service! Highly recommend to all my neighbors and friends when looking for a good quality, reasonably priced company. Thanks Rutgers Fence!
