Basement Solutions

It is my pleasure to write this review for Basement Solutions, LLC! I did my due-diligence prior to choosing a contractor to resolve my chronic basement flooding. I carefully reviewed the proposals I received from six different companies before making a decision. Each had its own methods and materials for approaching the problem and each had its own price. Basement Solutions uses more robust parts and materials and offers a system that provides back-up power (in the event of a power failure).

I am easily able to monitor the system from my cellphone and laptop. The scope of their proposal reflected Bill McLachlan's extensive experience in correcting wet basements. He knew what was needed and how to install it in a way that made more sense than any other proposal I reviewed! He also offered several common-sense alternative approaches to specific unique issues I had in my basement.

No attempt was made to "sell" me things I didn't need. Moreover, the price was highly competitive! All the boxes were checked and. the best was yet to come! Bill and the crew arrived on the date and time promised. They ensured that any dust from the work would be controlled. They moved a few large items for me that I couldn't have moved on my own.

They completed the project according to plan and with an impressive level of workmanship I don't often see. The job was finished right on schedule. They completely cleaned-up afterwards and were the most cordial group of craftsman I have met in some time! The system has been operating for two months now and I am completely satisfied. The change in my basement is dramatic!

I have retired my wet-vac, mop and bucket. The humidifier no-longer needs to run non-stop. When I think about some of the other proposals I received, I literally say, "Thank God we met Bill McLachlan and Basement Solutions!"

My basement was a BIG job, Bill created a plan and it was executed PERFECTLY.

This included having my oil company move my oil tank, so that Basement Solutions could work, on the vulnerable wall. The Basement Solutions team has far exceeded my expectations. We have had terrible weather with rain, the ground freezing, snow, ice and rain and our basement is dry. THANK YOU!

Bill and his team exceeded our expectations and more than lived up to their 5 star reviews! They dug through the slab along the wall of our basement and installed the piping needed, then placed a pitboss+ sump pump in an easy to access location. From there they installed more piping up from the pump through a corner wall of the house to our outdoor gutter drain. Important: this was not an easy task, as Bill's team had to navigate under and around 2 hot water tanks, washer, dryer, well tank, compressor and salt barrel.

They accomplished the job with aplomb and we're no longer seeing any water in our basement. All in one day! And happy to report we occasionally hear the sump pump operating (quietly) and sure enough water is discharged outside as expected to a small creek away from our house.

Bill was prompt keeping his appt back in Sept. The project was delayed due to Covid but they came on the date they promised Nov 1. They did exactly what we wanted, french drain and sump pump. We have not had to use our dehumidifiers since! Just to let you know we had one other company come in and there product was far inferior to Basement Solutions! I would and have recommended them highly.

From the moment I received my estimate from Bill and all the way to the jobs completion I was truly treated with respect and importance. The job was done exactly as it was described to me in a very timely manner. They also cleaned up beautifully. Thank you Bill, Debbie and Staff for a 5 star job!

Bill was very professional, showed up on time and his pricing is reasonable. That was the quote and the same applies to the day work was to begin. His crew were very professional and they did a fantastic job cleaning up. I have no problem recommending them for drainage work.

I interviewed quite a few companies regarding my basement leak problems. Bill offered the most logical and economical solutions. Debbie is very helpful in communication and billing. When the team worked on my property both inside and outside, I was very impressed by their efficiency. For the in-house part, they isolated the working area with plastic shield so no dust is in my living space.

They finished their work in one day and cleaned everything thoroughly. For the outside part, they used one and half day to finish all drainage and paving. The job was well done. Workers are well trained, communication was very smooth. After everything was done, Bill walked through everything with me. He taught me how to monitor sump pumps on my cell phone. We purchased a home in Ridgefield, and several days later, we had water in a cement crawlspace. We debated what to do for months--wet or dry outside the pool didn't seem to go away. We had some wood down there, and that invites black mold. We had several companies bid, and they each had a different opinion of what needed to be done.
