In 1948, young Marshall Dannen, and his wife Ann, started a home heating oil business with a simple goal; provide great service and products at a fair price. Over the years, the business transformed from a two-person company into Marshall's Inc., one of the most respectable and trustworthy businesses in the industry, providing heating, cooling, insulation, fireplaces, water heating and duct cleaning services to tens of thousands of satisfied customers.
Today, over 70 years after the business was founded, Marshall's is still owned and operated by a Marshall; Marshall "Chad" Dannen III and his wife Audra; who continue the legacy of a family run business who cares deeply about their customers and employees.

Marshalls installed our heat pump a few years ago and did a fine job. Just today I called them for maintenance. They told me the earliest they could get here was August. I understand that they are busy, as so many are. However, because I wanted service sooner, I asked them who they would recommend as an alternative and they said "Nobody". Really? They're not aware of any other companies in the area? I consider that extremely unprofessional and I'm afraid I won't be using Marshall's again. Too bad. Priority One is coming out tomorrow.

Marshall's installed a ducted heat pump system at a home my wife and I recently purchased. The two installers, Luis and Edgar were efficient, courteous and respectful of our space as they went about their business. The entire operation went according to plan and we are now enjoying the benefits of their work. Thank you Marshall's. Services: Thermostat installation, Installation, Heating system installation, Install AC

Excellent and honest bid on new air conditioner and install. Given options for budget cost up to premium products. Maintenance technicians on day of install were extremely professional and hard working. Install and clean-up was seamless and very happy with quality of finished product/work. Would gladly do business with Marshalls again and refer to a friend.

I've worked with Marshall's for over 20 years, and they have always been uniformly excellent, professional, and timely. Contacted Marshall's for maintenance on our A/C system, but I was happy to find their maintenance package included both the A/C and the furnace. The technician was very professional. He pointed out some things of concern but didn't pressure us to schedule any repairs. Very happy with the service and would use Marshall's again. Services: A/C system maintenance, Heating system maintenance

The repairmen that were sent were excellent. They cleaned all of the ducts, and repaired some ducts that we were not getting air flow. I was very impressed with the service, and thought it was priced right. The heating unit is working much more efficiently. Services: HVAC duct & vent cleaning, HVAC duct & vent repair

We started having issues with our air conditioning last summer. My husband recommended we use Marshalls after some dealings he had with them at his work. His recommendation was spot on. The technician, Jacob came out this morning, was on time, looked the unit, ran some tests and found the problem. He had the part he needed on his van and was able to get it repaired on the spot. Jacob was very friendly and had great knowledge of our unit. Would highly recommend Marshalls.

Marshall's Insulation installed bat and blow insulation into my attic side spaces, bringing it up to code. They were very knowledgeable, professional, and efficient! I noticed a drastic difference the evening after install. The overnight temp was 15F and the next morning I could get out of bed without freezing off my extremities! Thank you so much Marshalls!

Marshall was very professional in all aspects of their work, from the first representative who came to our home to give us a quote for attic insulation work needed, to the techs and the office staff who took time to assure our needs were met. I believe we received great value at at reasonable cost. Marshall's is now our go-to service company for all our heating and cooling needs.

After I called with concerns re the heating performance of the ductless system Marshall's installed 3 years ago, a diagnostic technician arrived the next day. He quickly verified that the system was not functioning properly, and his supervisor cleared the rest of his schedule so that he could fix it that day. After draining the refrigerant, he filled the lines with Nitrogen under pressure.
He soon found a very small leak in one of the refrigerant lines and fixed it, then drained the Nitrogen and filled the lines with refrigerant, then stayed until the system was fully functioning.

I've had the team from Marshalls do a variety of things at my house from annual maintenance to installation of a furnace and an AC unit. Everyone from the initial phone call to the installers are nice, informative, explain when necessary, prompt, clean, etc. I always feel like I'm getting honest and sensible advice without being sold things I do not need.

I was deeply angered that the company sent a technician who was wearing only a bandana over his face rather than an N-95 mask. When I asked if he was vaccinated he said no he hadn't gotten around to it. I gave him an N-95 mask. Free vaccines have been available for a year now. I will be 70 in 6 weeks. We have created a bubble of vaccinated and boostered people around my 2 yo granddaughter so that she can grow up and live without getting slow Covid.
In fairness to the technician, he remained polite throughout the encounter and agreed to only go into the garage. I called the office and spoke to their manager. She was also polite and told me that the company has a policy that masks are required. I recommended they provide N-95 masks to their employees. She agreed to take my concerns to upper management. She also put a note on my account that only vaccinated and boostered service technicians be sent to this house.

This is a long review. First off, this review is based on a situation that is 3 1/2 years ago but with the addition of new information gathered from Mitsubishi. When we first bought our home we had Marshall's come out and assess our heating and cooling needs. The comfort advisor sold us on a single unit for our home despite our house bing 1780sf.
He insisted it would be sufficient. Well it wasn't. All the rooms remained hot or cold given the time of year. After I complained to the company they came out and reassessed and stated that we needed at least a three zone or more. They said they really wanted to work with us so I figured they would offer a new system and we would pay the difference. Nope, they offered us only $500 bucks off.
That was a slap in the face. Not to mention they messed up somewhere along the way with the install of what they did. They system they installed never worked right meaning when on cool mode it never hit a comfort zone. If we have it set for 70 degrees it will keep cooling all the way to 64 and won't stop. Marshells said that's how the system works but when I finally called Mitsubishi they said it should not work like that and sounds like the installer did something wrong. We are now getting a new system from Comfort Flow Heating. I would recommend calling them and not wasting your time.

The estimating process was very easy and came in lower than other bids while giving me more information, brochures, and other feedback to make my decision. I ended up going for an in-ceiling heat pump unit which is apparently relatively difficult to obtain and install. The back office kept me informed of shipping delays and worked with me to schedule the installation as quickly as possible. The installers were on-time and professional, and did a beautiful job. The improved temperature control was immediately obvious and I slept better than I have in months.

We recently purchased a new heat-pump to replace our 20-year old system (also installed by Marshall's) and couldn't be happier. Dan provided multiple system options, and thoroughly explained the differences so we could make the best decision for our needs and budget. Jawhn and Coop did a great, super clean installation! The details in their workmanship is top notch, and definitely did not go unnoticed.
Very friendly guys that took time to explain the work being done, that was very appreciated. Also have to give a shout out to the various ladies in the office that helped with financing and keeping us updated as our install date approached. Marshall's set's the bar high with professionalism and quality, we will definitely continue to use their services for future projects! Thank you!

The Marshalls Team has designed and is now installing a radiant floor heating system and a gas fireplace in our new home. Most of the folks on the Team have been at this a long time and they know what they are doing. Innovative and effective design means reliable and easily serviced systems. Seeing the common sense in the installation and how they work with my General Contractor gives me confidence in the results. Showing up and getting the work done efficiently is also impressive. This Third Generation local business gets the job done right!

Tim came and was very courteous and friendly and professional. He came at the end of the day and still gave us the attention needed to fix our AC. He is a hard worker and pleasant to talk with. I also called the office to make sure the appointment was still on because my slot was from 12 to 4 and they were courteous and assured me that he was still coming, was just at his last job. I would gladly use them again and was happy with the service.

Called to have work done on system. Showed the guy a video of what it was doing and he replaced the fan. He had to order the part $119. The part came about four days later and it was installed. Fast turn around, great. After he installed it, I was not sure but I thought it did the exact same thing it were doing prior. (It was making a banging noise) when he installed it he also did not fully seal the system and was wind noise. $498 Very next day the fan kicked on and it was in fact doing the exact same thing.
I called and was told they would look at it for half the normal diag price. What? I already paid for this exact same issue so be diaged once. After telling them I would not be paying it again they caved and said I won't have to pay that. Or would I? The manager came out seven days later and honestly appeared to know the issue within seconds. Faulty relay.
I was "discounted" $119 on my itemized receipt for the diag. Replaced the the switch with a part number T840029. Mind you this is your everyday run of the mill relay that costs $8-$20. My charge? $130 Did I HAVE to replace my fan? Nope. Issue remained after the replacement. In the end I was charged a total of $747 in unnecessary fan replacement and over charges to compensate for their additional time fixing the issue with a $10 part. Tread with caution. Marshalls is interested in lining their pockets first and foremost and gauging the customer as much as they are able. Feel totally duped and take advantaged of.

I had Marshall's out in January because my furnace wasn't keeping temperature they did a diagnostic test for 135.00. What they decided was the contactor for the heat pump had failed. They also proceeded to tell me that the compressor had failed and that everything I had was shot and not worth fixing and that I should replace it. They gave me a bid ranging from 15k to 18k.
I still could heat my house using e-heat. so that's what I did until I could figure a replacement plan. Fast forward to yesterday I had a different company come out. they did a diagnostic test and charged me 69.00. Their findings were this. Marshall's had cut the high voltage wires while here and disconnected the low voltage board. There really was a simple fix to my problem but Marshall's just cut the wires and said I need a whole new unit and that they didn't even make the brand I had anymore to repair it.
The new guys were here for a half hour and had my unit up and running in minutes by replacing the contactor amp for 36.00. I will be buying a new unit when needed from the new heating company, which I might add will not even be half the cost of what Marshall's quoted me. I'm so bothered by dishonest businesses and question how they can sleep at night!
I too am a small business owner and wouldn't dream of being dishonest for a buck! If I could give 0 stars I would! Jeff And Harold both should be ashamed of themselves. Update. two years later and the heater is still running great! My 36.00 fix! I still pass on my review aboUt Marshall's to anyone interested in listening! To think I would have given them 18k for nothing necessary makes me so sick!

Today we had Marshall's come out and install a ductless heating and cooling system. I am pleased to give the entire company a #1 rating starting with Harold who came out to give us an estimate, to the ladies in the office that I spoke to on occasion, to the two great guys, Jawhn and Andy, who actually did the hardest part which was the installation.
They worked super hard all day and did a perfect job. Afterward, Andy took the time to make sure I clearly understood the system and how to use and maintain it. I would highly recommend this company to anyone out there needing their services.

We recently had Marshall's replace our heat pump and put in a gas furnace. The man who came to see what we needed, where it could be put, gave info on products and cost (Aaron) was very helpful. The 2 installers, Andy and Aaron (different Aaron) were very friendly, cleaned up after themselves, kept us informed on what they were doing. We enjoyed having them here for the 2 1/2 days it took for the installation and the follow up to connect to the gas that had to be brought to the house by NW Natural Gas. Andy went over and above anything expected and helped us many times with helpful ideas and just plain help. Appreciate when a company and their employees are so nice, friendly, and know their job well.

Well had a hiccup with my first true heatwave in Eugene and I could tell they were swamped but they had me in the queue for the next day. Got a call early in the day saying that they could make it early if I was ready. Arrived ten minutes later and it was fixed in less than half an hour. Great service!

This has been nothing but a terrible experience from day one. We had Marshall's install an entirely new system in a full house renovation approximately two years ago. That process was fraught with issues from start to finish to include rude schedulers who failed to get us on the schedule for work when they said they would, not letting us know when the crew was "sick" and would not be out at all on the scheduled day, and installing cheap equipment that was inappropriate for residential use, which we, the customer, had to request to be changed out.
We had to tell them that we were happy to spend more to have the best system and were not looking to cut corners. We also had to tell them that we had sent our own employees under the house, and that the duct work was full of water in this 100 year old farmhouse. The estimator had said the duct work was "fine". We had to beg them to take our money to do the job right.
This brings me to today. I called last week to schedule a service visit, they scheduled us out to this morning. No problem. However, she felt it necessary to "double check" that I knew there was a $135 service fee, and that we could pay. Keep in mind we have spent almost $20,000 with this company in the past two years. The technician shows up to our newly renovated home on 500 acres and says, "So, this is a rental, right?" Ummm no.
As he is leaving he tells my husband they can send a bill to our office (the farm we own) for the $135 service fee. Not five minutes later I get a call from the office saying that there was no one here to collect the fee, and she (Darlene) needed to collect immediately. She then proceeds to ask me for our billing address, email etc. I informed her that she should have all of this being that we had spent a lot of money with them in very recent history.
She says they do. That will be the very last time we do business with Marshall's. The tone of the entire interaction was one of distrust, disrespect and generally that they do not value our business in the least. My regret is that we ever called them to begin with. I would have much rather spent that amount of money with a company that values its customers.
They have been disrespectful at every turn. They have assumed that my husband and I (in our 30's) are renters, employees etc. and have treated us accordingly. You know what they say about assuming. Marshall's, you need to adopt intensive customer service training as soon as possible. If my employee's behaved the way yours do toward paying customers we would be out of business.

Travis, Ripley, and Elijah installed my insulation today in a tight crawl space with a smile on their faces. I am so grateful for their efficient, courteous, professional behavior. They took care to leave no mess and covered their shoes inside the house. They communicated clearly about what they were doing and seem to be proud of their work which is huge! Good Job!

Marshall's came out to repair some insulation and a couple of other heat pump issues under our house. They were there on time and finished when they said they would. They showed me the work they had done and made sure I didn't have any questions. There was no mess, and the workers even replaced the raccoon fencing--I wouldn't even haven have known they were there. I will hire them again if I need it.

Just got off the phone with reception. Had a service repair in Oct (8 mo ago) but the unit failed in two months with same problem while operating as heating unit. I need it fixed now as it is my only way to cool home and they want to charge me $110 For another diagnostic for something they only replaced fuses at the rate of $175. Really? I just priced these fuses at home depot at $5.47 each! I paid $175 For a $10.92 fix that was not fixed at all! You've lost my business Marshalls!

The service department is horrible! I needed to have warranty work done and what ensued was a major headache. They'll set up a appointment in a four hour window and on three consecutive occasions had to change times. This cost my family about $500 in lost wages. I will be looking for a different company as soon as the warranty work is done.

The service from Theo was great, I also understand the $130 service call but. Apparently the fuses for my ductless heat pump needed replaced. I was charged $61 for two of them. Theo was nice enough to show me how to replace them for next time and thought I could possibly get an extra set at Jerry's for next time since I live out of town somewhat.
I went to Jerry's and the two fuses that I was charged $61 from Marshall's were $13 at Jerrys! I don't mind paying a little more when I have to have someone else do things but good golly! Ridiculous

Initial walk around and estimates were prompt, in depth, and fair. I needed a furnace and an air conditioning system. Harold walked me through ALL of my options, not just the ones that were most profitable to them. They installed cleanly and worked around other contractors on site. They offered financing options and made the entire process as painless as it could be considering what I needed.
With the deal I got and the service I received I can understand why the receptionist was too busy to "justify" the increase in price to the previous reviewer.they must be very busy. Also, if you can't handle a $28.50 cent per year increase.do it yourself.

As a loyal customer since 2005, we have been absolutely pleased with their service and prices for maintenance and repairs of our two 20+ year old heat pumps. Theo has maintained them several times and is awesome in having spare parts and keeping everything running smoothly. He just completed the annual maintenance and recommended a quick fix that will save us big during the summer months when the AC is needed. We highly recommend Marshall's, they are the best!

The professionals at Marshalls were awesome to work with as we completely remodeled our 100 year old house in Eugene. From crawlspace to roof insulation, Marshalls did all HVAC and insulation for us, and they were great to work with for the whole project. Their expertise is matched only by how nice and easy to work with they are. Everyone who came out to our job was thoughtful and really cared that we got just what we wanted.
The equipment they installed has worked outstandingly, and we're nice and toasty in winter, and cool in the summer. If I have another project, I'll go back to Marshall's in a heartbeat.

I've been using Marshalls for many years with general satisfaction. The fireplace they installed was having issues and I called to get a quote on replacing a specific part, I was informed that they charge an $89 diagnostic fee before they'd even give me a quote on replacing the broken part. Thanks but not thanks Marshalls, my business will now be going elsewhere.
