A-1 Sewer & Drain, Plumbing & Heating

I'm a rental property owner in the city of Portsmouth, VA. My tenant called me with a water line leak that appeared to be coming from underneath the house in the crawl space. After having the water shut off A-1 Plumbing scheduled an appointment to take place within 24 hrs of the call. After their evaluation they were able to present a clear method of repair.

The work needed was extensive and we required and were approved with financing through their company. They did all the work. Got all necessary permits and inspections for the repair. They even provided detailed photos of the work done in the crawl under my property. It was all overwhelming yet A-1 Plumbing made it all manageable. We were very pleased and impressed with the whole team of technicians. Thank you A-1 Plumbing

A1 gets 7 stars if that was possible. When you call a plumbing company many times you are totally under stress. I will say that every single worker that came to my home to repair and find my broken pipe was professional, kind and knowledgeable. The gentleman that came to find my leak knew instantly what was wrong. The repair people fixed the pipe and were kind and welcoming.

I was so happy that the it was fixed and relieved that it was done so quick. These two guys were kind, smart and welcoming. (Mat & Steve) The pipe was fixed quickly and professionally. I would recommend A1 to everyone.

Andrew did a great job with our plumbing repair. He was on time and very professional as well as knowledgeable about our needed repair. We thought the repair would be worst than it actually was but Andrew had an positive attitude and worked hard to fix our issue. We had a leak from our tub draining down to our livingroom. We are more than satisfied with the job thanks to Andrew.

We had great service from A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing. Our water heater burst overnight and they were very responsive to the situation. We were able to stop the water leak overnight so our dispatched technician, Mike Smith, arrived on time to our appointment the next morning. He assessed the situation and reviewed with me what had to be done. Because the job was in a difficult area, a second technician was dispatched (cannot recall his name) and both were professional and courteous. Job was completed quickly. I would recommend using A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing for your plumbing needs. You will be impressed like we were.

I have used A1 Sewer & Drain twice and both time I have been very pleased with quality of work provided. Th last time was April 19, 2022. The A1 Sewer & Drain service technician was courteous and respectful and presented a very friendly approach for his work. The work performed was completed within a reasonable, timely fashion. The price quoted was reasonable and fair and the service technician did not attempt to add on extra time. In general, I was very pleased with A1 Sewer & Drain and I will be using the company again in the near future.

Highly recommend A1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing. Called on a recommendation from a family member. Glad I did. Candice took my call, she was very nice and gave me several appointment times. Leslie Vinson was my technician and did great work. Answered all my questions, made sure everything operated properly and cleaned up like he was never there. Leslie was on time and called and sent a text to give me updates on his arrival. If you need any plumbing services, I highly recommend A1!

A-1 Sewer & Drain Plumbing has done several repairs on my home in the past 6 months. They respond quickly and are on time (they even called in someone on his day off to find and repair a leak). They do quality work at a reasonable price. Their staff - from the office personnel to the technicians that respond to the call - are all professional, knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and personable. They go the "extra mile" to explain what they are doing, what they found and how it was fixed.

We were very impressed with this company. Their 24-7 call center made it so convenient to schedule an appointment. Though they offered to come that same day, we opted to schedule an appointment the next day. They were incredibly easy to work with and got the problem fixed within an hour of the tech's arrival. The prices were fair and made known to us before service which was very helpful. They will definitely be our first call if we have any other plumbing issues at our home!

The tech "Brandon" came out at almost midnight. Was friendly, polite and had the job done in under an hour. Our main drain was clogged. He did a superb job and the cost was reasonable. Very happy! It was a frustrating night for us and he got things flowing in the right direction. Pardon the pun.

When we called to get a quote for a broken drain pipe in our slab, A-1 had a gentleman (Andy) out first thing in the morning the next business day. Andy thoroughly explained how the job would be handled and what to expect should things be worse than a single pipe failure. As this is something I've never dealt with before, I had a million questions and Andy had no qualms answering each one.

Within an hour, he emailed two quotes - a "best case" and "worst case" with a full breakdown of what each entailed. Thanks to Andy, I felt reassured and comfortable with the project and estimated timeline for repair. As for the work, Arty and his team member were absolutely incredible. Efficient, professional, and personable. Despite no plumbing schematics being available, Arty was able to quickly find a starting point that didn't involve unnecessary concrete removal.

Throughout the process, they kept me updated on what they found and what their next steps were. They even gave me a heads up before starting the jackhammer so I could put on hearing protection which was SUPER appreciated. The repair took all of 3 days. It's one thing to just come in and fix a semi-major plumbing problem. What made A-1 shine bright were the personalities of each individual involved in the planning and follow-through. And for that, I will write paragraphs of praise and recommend them to everyone in need of a repair.

From my initial call to the end of service, A1 was great. I called at about 6pm on a weekday to request service for a water leak in our yard. My husband dug to do some investigating and decided we didn't want to deal with it. The person on the phone was very straight forward when I asked for prices (emergency vs. waiting for the next day). We decided it was worth the extra $100 to get it done that night. Chris B. came in about an hour and had the job done in 1 hour. He was very kind and knowledgeable. He also wore a mask for the entirety of the job. $200/first hour non emergency; $300/ first hour emergency or after hours.

They have helped us out on numerous occasions with emergency calls. They are punctual and get the job done and we would highly recommend them to anyone in need of a company that stands by their work!

I had a pipe break and my house Friday morning, went to turn off my main and it was broke (Not a good day) had to turn of at the street, water everywhere. I called my home warranty company and the best they could was has a plumber out on Monday. Of course I'm not waiting, I call A-1 and they arrived in two hours and had to go get some parts return and made the needed repairs. I want to thank Chris for a job well done.

Called A-1 to repair a shower drain line that caused a major leak from my master bathroom through my kitchen ceiling. They showed up initially and completed the repair in about 16 minutes, though they charged me for an hour and 1/2, and left me with a hole in my ceiling that could not be repaired because the new repair caused the trap to extend through my ceiling. Additionally, when I called to have the repair, repaired, I was scheduled between 10:00AM and 2:00PM and no one showed up or called.

I called the office at 2pm, the end of my window, to find out that the plumber would not make it until after 5pm, if at all. A simple phone call would have been appropriate! I was rescheduled, again, and their mistake was corrected, but it cost me to lose several more hours of another day. If you value your time and expect a business to honor its commitments, or call if they can't, then this is not the company to use.

I called a-1 sewer and drain of the Suffolk office. I told them I came home and water was standing all around my house from a bad leak. I had water turned off and they were coming the next day. They sent a man out and I asked him if he could repair it he said yes he could get right to it and repair it. He spent 2.5 hours charging me 500.00 to pump water then told me he could recommend another company who could pump the remaining water out cheaper.

It would have been nice to have known this from the start before I spent the 500.00 to not have my water line repaired. I will never use a-1 sewer and drain in my life and would warn everyone out there across the world that they are nothing but a ripoff and unless you just want to give money away don't ever call a-1 sewer and drain

A1 was called to my house to fix the hot and cold valve on my shower. When they were done they had replaced that plus the pipe running to the shower faucet. They decide to use flex pipe/pvc pipe in lieu of the copper that was in place. When I returned home I found a shower head that was flopping around like a broken limb and pointing the wrong direction.

In all fairness they did not hesitate to send a repairman out and it was at no charge. Upon his arrival I explained my problem and he went on to tell me that he could not fix it without cutting a hole in my wall. I asked if he would then repair said hole and he said no. To me that is unacceptable. When I so voiced, he became rude and patronizing about how it would have to be fixed.

He did end up replacing the pipe copper and it fixed the problem. The statement that set me over the edge was normally i just tell customers we have to put a hole in the wall and just cover it with a picture. I do not recommend this company but if you do use them make sure to check the work. Additionally we were charged $200 for materials with no explanation and there were not many materials used.
