Had 3 bids on Air Conditioning Units for our gas furnace from 3 other companies in the last week of June, after a massive heat wave. Agreed with one company and they could not get the A/C product for 6-8 months! Called the 2nd company, same thing! Got the number from a friend to call Nick at Economy Hearth and Home as her Heat Pump unit was installed a week prior and she highly recommended them.
I was nervous based on their Yelp reviews, but if you've ever tried sleeping when it's over 87° inside the house, I was desperate and thought I'd give them a try! Sure enough, Nick impressed me! Professional and personable. He was on-time and was able to match an existing bid! Plus, he had an Air Conditioning Unit in-stock that happened to be a Carrier product, which was reported a higher rating on Consumer Reports than his competitors bids/products!
I was SOLD. The guys who installed it impressed my husband as they were attention to details and efficient. Bottom line: we can sleep again and we love our new thermostat and A/C unit!

It was Saturday night on the hottest week in history here and our AC goes out. I called and left a VM about 9pm, expecting a call on Monday when the recording said they'd next be open. Lo and behold, I got a call late morning on Sunday from Kyle saying Stephanie called him to see if he was available and he said he could be over in about and hour.
I was flabbergasted and thrilled! Poor guy out in the midday heat was extremely courteous, caring and hardworking, and competent, taking time to explain what he was looking for, what he had found, and that we needed a new capacitor which he didn't have. He said he was pretty sure the condenser was okay but wouldn't know 100% until he got a capacitor.
He left to meet another tech who also didn't have the exact part, but who might have parts that could work. Kyle returned with two capacitors instead of the one which would work in tandem just fine (and he only charged for one). He hooked them up, got it working, checked out the system to make sure everything was working as it He came inside for a cold soda and carefully explained about how dirty filters contribute to excessive wear on capacitors.
He also said he had noticed while doing some temperature checks that we had filters on the return air intakes in the house as well as the filter on the furnace, explaining that this double filtering also contributes to overworking the system. We paid the bill which was for the capacitor and a $150 Sunday service diagnostic charge (with no extra hazard fee for the intense heat!) I really felt he was totally concerned about helping us out, educating us as he progressed, with tips for getting the most years out of our system, and making sure we were happy.
I think the price of getting our AC back online before "tomorrow", predicted to be the hottest day ever in the weather history of Bremerton (110 degrees in June?!?!), was well worth what we paid! Thank you Economy Hearth and Home! #ServiceStarShoutOut

Outstanding customer service. The entire experience was stellar, from the initial quote, to the installation, to the service after the sale. Jeff, Larry, Kyle, the office crew, all top notch. I just can't imagine going anywhere else. It's so obvious that great customer service is a priority with them. And, we just love our new propane insert. Looks great, puts out a load of heat, and is so easy to use. What's not to love about this place!

Couldn't be happier about our new fireplace (sitting in front of it as I write this). The crew was friendly, professional and very efficient. They explained everything about our new fireplace and all its amazing technology (no pilot light, battery backup starter, fan to spread the heat, etc.). I'd recommend Economy Hearth and Home very highly.

I had called to make an appointment and was told between 12: and 1:. I was glad I got up a little early, because when I took the dog out at 10 till 11: there was a truck in my driveway. The maintenance man said his paperwork said the appointment was 11: to 12:. Everything else was taken care of as it was supposed to be. He was polite and did his job.
I have not had any problems with the maintenance people. You do give us an appointment for a reason. I would like to be up, dressed, and have eaten before they arrive. When they are given another time, it doesn't work very well for me. If you make a change, please let me know. If you make a mistake, I am forgiving. Thanks!

I've used other home heating providers, and ECONOMY HEARTH AND HOME are by far the very best - reliable, responsible, affordable and on time when needed! They replaced my old furnace two years ago, and when I hit a glitch recently they were right on the spot to troubleshoot (turned out a minor issue on my part - not the quality equipment!). Couldn't recommend them higher!

I had an appointment scheduled for between 8 and 9 on a Wednesday morning for just a routine maintenance. I showed up at the house about 5 minutes before 8, waited until 9 o clock with no phone call or anything letting me know where they were or that they were going to be late. Then when I called the office, she spoke with the technician that was supposed to come out and assured me he would be there any minute.
I waited for another half an hour with no phone call or sign of the technician. I then called to cancel the appointment and there was no apology or solution offered. I can't attest to their knowledge or skill base since they didn't even show up, but they do seem to be good at wasting time.

This company installed my heat pump this summer and did a great job. After moving in and living in the house for awhile, I noticed the house was extremely dusty no matter how many times I dusted, and I assumed the duct work hadn't been cleaned since the house was built, so I called and had them come out. They did a fantastic job, and I was right, the ducts had never been cleaned after the sheet rock was installed 9 years ago and the vents had not been covered.
It took awhile for all of the dust and sheet rock to be vacuumed out, but I'm amazed at the difference. I've been very pleased with this company for both jobs and highly recommend them.

Had an appointment scheduled a month in advance. They called me the day of the appointment and said the technician had called out sick. The scheduler glibly offered for the person to come back on some specific day and specific time two weeks later or re-schedule out another month, as if this was some common occurrence for them. It rolled off the tongue like an experienced professional delivering the news that you had been dropped like a hot rock.
Obviously it had been practiced many times. I had already burned the vacation day to meet these guys and the late notice was the lowest and latest form of response, given the (potential) situation they had being down a tech. Needless to say, I declined to engage with them further. Stay away.

Was a little Leary based on the ratings but figured most were 3 years ago so I would give it a shot. they are the authorized dealer for my stove. Service apparently has not gotten any better. Called and specifically asked closing time and if they would be there. Was told yes. Showed up 1.5 hours before closing time and was greeted by a closed sign. Then was ignored by an employee who showed up as I was leaving. Guess they didn't need my $800.

I waited a few months after installation of a new fireplace before I reviewed. It has been 5 months and it is PERFECT. The installation was completed on schedule and on budget, and looks incredible in our living room. This is the second fireplace in our home from Economy and it works and looks perfectly. I would (and have) recommended them for many years.

The day before these folks were to come out and install a new mini split in a building on my property I thought I had better open up the crawl space to make it easier for them to access. To my horror, there was at least 18" of water underneath. This was a Sunday evening. I left them a voice mail about the issue. I ran a sump pump all night. I received a call from them early Monday.
They would come and take a look. They decided to wait a day to see if the water subsided. It rained more and filled up more. I let them know on Tuesday. There was still about 8-10" of water under this building despite the pump running the entire time. The crew went out and bought hip waders and went to work anyway. There is only about 3' of clearance down there.
I cannot imagine the mess. These guys were committed to getting this done. By Friday, I still had standing water down there, but I also had a fully functioning 4 unit mini split. It has now been 7 months and things are working perfectly. I smile every time I drive by them. Would highly recommend their services.

Good service; if you get the right tech. Hassled me on the bill. It took two visits to fix our unit. The unit would not start consistently and was sooting badly, so the first tech replaced the thermopile. He also told me that the sooting was due to improper log placement (I've learned that can sometimes be the case), so he moved the logs around, and cleaned the unit without any disassembly. Unfortunately, the glass turned black within the first couple days of use.
We stopped using the unit for a month or so until we could find time to schedule another service call. The second tech (Sam) was incredibly thorough. He disassembled the unit and found that pilot assembly was plugged, as well as the air shutter. He also noted that the flame was too high, and wasn't making it all the way down the burner tube. He put in new embers, and placed the logs properly (Using mfr installation manual).
Now the fireplace works beautifully. In fact, the plugged pilot assy was likely the reason the thermopile wasn't working properly. This info would have saved me $171 on the first visit. When I mentioned these issues to the office, they would not waive the original diagnostic fee on the second invoice because I was beyond their 30 day labor warranty. I did delay calling, but it seems odd to question your customer's legitimate concerns. I won't use them again, unless Sam is available.

These guys are fantastic. We went to the showroom and were shown all our alternatives from a wide selection Their crew installed the gas from the street, were quite courteous, knew their business, made sure we were happy before they left and followed up with a call to ensure we were satisfied. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I would never use these people again. They came to repair my heat pump a year ago and last weekend the air conditioner wouldn't work. When they scheduled the appointment to replace the compressor they cancelled after my husband took the day off work because the tech didn't want to do it in the rain. They charged us extra because they said it needed more freon.
This is why the unit wouldn't work. We had the company who did the original install come out and fix it. They had to take out 4 extra pounds of freon because it was overfilled and wouldn't let the compressor switch to the cool side. So not only could they have shortened the life of my new compressor they charged me extra to do it. There are other parts that are supposed to be changed at the same time as the compressor and its unclear if the filter was changed so it will be now at another additional cost. Again I would never use this company again they were unprofessional and did not do the work as it should have been done

I had a $12,000 Carrier heat pump installed in 2009. When installed, my floor was gouged--and not just in a couple of places--the pipes stuck out of the opening an inch, and the 3 inch hole they cut in my floor for the pipe was haphazardly filled with caulking and looks horrible. I was offered a $100 gift certificate and had to ask that they provide a cover for the unit so the shoddy workmanship didn't show.
Four years later, the $700 thermostat had to be replaced (I was told I had to pay for it until I threw a fit, and they looked up my warranty), and I had to pay the labor because although Currier only warranties the parts for five years, Economy heating doesn't warranty their labor. Then, 2 years later, this year, the unit started profusely leaking on my floor that was gouged.
The office staff insinuated it was my fault because I didn't have the unit inspect yearly at over $200 a pop (they were out in 2010, 2013, 2015). I was told by their technician and another HVAC company that I don't have to have them out but every 2 or three years. Come to find out, the leaking issue was caused by a piece of metal that shouldn't have been there and was left in the unit when it was installed, and a PVC pipe had not been glued during installation.
At the time, I also had them perform yearly maintenance on the unit. Within 2 weeks, the air conditioner fan quit working, the motor overheated, and the tech had no idea what it was and had to call and have another technician troubleshoot with him over the phone. I was told a fan motor and the condenser had to be replace for $1000.00, $700.00 for parts, and nothing warrantied by Currier or Economy Heating.
It makes me wonder if the shoddy installation isn't the reason the fan motor had to work overtime for the past 6 years, and only 2 months out of each year at the most, to cool the house. I suggest people contact another HVAC company for purchase and service. UPDATE: Exactly one year to date, the unit is profusely leaking in exactly the same place that was repaired. Such shoddy workmanship.

Our general contractor, Westhill, subbed out the HVAC work to Economy Hearth & Home as part of a remodel and expansion of our 70's split-level home in Woodinville. This work included expanding the heat duct runs to three bedrooms plus two and a half baths plus establishing a new gas line entrance and run to our furnace plus re-running the furnace intake and exhaust to a new roof concentric vent pipe.
Economy inadequately sized our ducting and furnace air return, causing poor airflow to the new rooms. The locations where they capped the old duct locations were simply taped without screws and sealant and quickly fell apart under air pressure of the furnace. Large air leaks were felt from their ductwork around the furnace. Patches of their duct insulation fell off.
The gas line attachment to the furnace was left unsecured and was without a drip loop per code requirements. They put a foot through the drywall of our downstairs ceiling. Economy hacked up our sub-floor for access with a multi-tool so bad that they removed subfloor in tiny pieces instead of square cuts that could be secured back in place. The furnace concentric vent pipe was installed through the roof too low per code requirements, not clearing the snow level.
When connecting the new gas line run to the old via a tee-fitting inside our house, Economy just made the connection, turned the gas valve back on and left for the day. The fitting leaked gas into our house for hours before I entered and was hit with an overwhelming gas odor, luckily before there was an explosion. Hours of ventilation later, the concentration of gas in the house still gave us headaches.
When I turned the main gas valve briefly back on to trouble-shoot, there was an audible hiss of gas from their new tee-fitting. After we personally took the initiative with another HVAC company when Westhill ignored our concerns, it took $2,000 of work by the other company to fix all of Economy's mistakes. Please avoid this company.
