As a five-year-old child in rural Brazil, Teresinha (Teresa) worked as a child laborer for farmers. As she grew up, she began to dream about restoring the dilapidated and deteriorating structures she saw around her. Not only did she wish to makeover ugly buildings' aesthetics, but she also wanted the know-how to rebuild structural elements and make them functional again.
In 1994 Teresa emigrated to the United States to pursue her dreams, and founded her first business, naming it "Home Professional General Contracting Company" which she operated in Manhattan, alongside her husband Antonio.

The owner was totally unreasonable at the end of the work. The owner arrived at 4 pm after previously texting her arrival at 1 pm. The owner would not allow us a 24 hours for a punch list prior to demanding final payment. In fact she refused to leave our home absent receipt of the final payment. So rather than go on with our plans for a dinner out, the owner made us very upset due entirely to her attitude and unwillingness to let us compare her actual work to the contract. No punch list allowed with Honey Fixit.

First thing out of Teresa's mouth was to insult my front yard, not even a greeting. The second was to repeat her insult. Never got a hello, I guess my cleaning up from the vandalism should not been more important then doing my yard in 100 degree weather. Three weeks and still no response about the three jobs I needed done. Teresa told me what I wanted done rather than listening to what I wanted. To top it off Teresa ask for the insurance claim report before she would give me a price. So very jive. Don't waste your time with this company.

I used honey fix it for 3 door installations. The owner Teresa was very timely in her response and subsequent estimate. The job was fairly priced, and easily scheduled. The carpenters, Sean and Dan, were courteous and professional. They cleaned up after themselves, and hung the barn style doors perfectly. The job had some unforeseeable complications, thru no fault of there own. Even though it became more time consuming than originally anticipated the job was finished in a professional manner. I couldn't be happier!

I called Theresa for an estimate on a bathroom renovation and she tried to charge me 50$ for the estimate when they clearly advertise free estimates, so i paid the 50 dollars and she came out and her estimate was higher. By FAR than 4 other companies that came out for free. I chose to use one of the contractors that was much cheaper and used material of much better quality.
In dealing with Theresa, she did not speak to me in a professional manner, or as a potential customer trying to win over my business, but rather spoke down to me as if my wishes or opinions did not matter. I would have liked to have given her my business, but each and every time I spoke with her, I was appalled with the tone of voice she used with me.
She truly spoke as if my opinions and desires were wrong or stupid and her way was the ONLY way the job was to be done. I am still in shock that this woman is still in business when she clearly has no idea how to treat or speak to people! A very happy customer that decided to use another company!

Horrible business owner. A month ago I called Honey Fix it to do a gate at my rental. I haven't heard anything and haven't gotten any follow up phone calls or anything. I called this morning merely to see when they would be coming out to check out the job and get an estimate. I was extremely nice and said " hi, I'm just following up to see when you will be coming out to give me an estimate for this job " the verbal response I got was that our job is a small job and she will get to it whenever she gets to it that she's currently backlogged with big jobs." I was like " oh, okay, I understand it's a small job I just wanted to follow up since I hadn't heard anything " she proceeds to say to me "I don't think you know who you're talking to, I am the owner and I'm doing the best that I can.
My big jobs get priority and I will get to you when I get to you" I said "OK look im not sure why your getting an attitude with me, im sorry your having a bad morning, I'm NOT trying to get priority I'm just trying to get a timeframe that you can let me know. "Her response was look I can't deal with your high expectations maybe you should find somebody else." Is trying to get a timeframe from a contractor high expectations? And I did let her know I did absolutely nothing to deserve this attitude and will be writing a bad review on yelp. How do you run a business like that?

Theresa was terrible to deal with she had employees come in here and fix my ceiling and paint. Should have been a simple job but it turned into a total nightmare. While fixing and painting the ceiling they got paint all of my other walls. And compound all of my carpet. She offered to Touch up the walls I did not have any extra paint in my house. she took a cut of the drywall and took it to the paint store.
Color did not match and she proceeded to yell at me and blame me for the error. I have to hire another contractor to come out and fix those mistakes. I would never never recommend this company or this person.

Stay away from this company! Horrible horrible experience. They were hired to replace a storm door, a simple job. The installation took forever, and the door was crooked with a gap. They came out to fix it and it looks horrible. I have to fix it myself, which negates the whole purpose of hiring them! I would never ever hire then again!

I had Honey Fix It come out a few years ago for an estimate and Theresa's estimate was way too high for us so we went with another contractor to do our repairs. I decided to try them again for some other repairs recently and Theresa would not come to my house to give me an estimate this time, instead calling me the day she set up our appointment and giving me an over the phone estimate.
Each time I asked her for a ballpark figure she kept raising the price, estimating that installing a simple foyer chandelier would be $600! Then she wouldn't even give an estimate to fix other problems in my home saying they would be very expensive and I needed to be financially prepared for a large amount. This all sounded very suspicious! She can't even give a ballpark figure because she is waiting till the work is done and then give me a ridiculous amount!?
When I said I was not comfortable scheduling the work without a ballpark price she said she didn't want to do the job anyway because of our meeting a few years ago when I had her come out and then did not use her company for the work. So basically she did not want to do the work in the first place because she is holding a grudge from before. This is VERY bad customer service and she gave me a very nervous feeling. Might she purposefully overcharge me to get back at me for my previous mistake? This woman should not be trusted.
