Ken's Concrete Designs

Ken was very prompt, pleasant and professional when I called him to do pool deck resurfacing. Our deck looks wonderful. We have had many compliments on the color and style of this project. Ken does a sample of color before beginning work to make sure you will like finished project and color choice. He was very friendly and courteous when talking and explaining what work would be done and when work would begin. I will definitely call him again when I have more concrete projects and I would recommend him. Great job!

Hired this company a couple of years ago to resurface concrete around our pool and extend our driveway. Driveway still looks great but started seeing chips and cracks within months around the pool. I tried to get them to come fix the issues but never returned our calls. Now they are doing our neighbors concrete, wish I would have known to warn them. Filed complaint on Angi and they tried to help but he would not respond to them either.

Now there are chunks of concrete coming up. Beware. Update: Ken came to see us while performing work at our neighbors and they fixed our problem areas for us. We appreciate him making it right.

Ken poured and stamped an 18x20 pool house floor for us. It was stamped Italian slate pattern and it turned out beautiful! We are so pleased with the outcome, that Ken is pouring an overlay on our covered back porch. Ken is professional and knowledgeable. During the summer of 2018 I met with Ken to get an estimate for concrete resurfacing around our pool. He portrayed himself to be one of the most trustworthy concrete companies in the business. He emphasized his Christian values numerous times throughout our discussions while guaranteeing his work. When I asked him about the possibility of the concrete cracking and how it would be repaired, he assured me over and over not to worry as he's always in Madison and he could easily stop by as it would be a quick fix.

I also asked about any cost associated with the potential repairs should this issue occur. Again, he casually waived it off with his hand and assured me not to worry about anything, he would handle it. Fast forward & MANY cracks year after year in our $25k resurfacing project, we have begged and pleaded for him to please repair so many times I cannot count.

I've been very nice, I've text, I've left phone messages, I've even had mutual friends and business people to get involved with zero resolution. I am not the type of of person to leave reviews of any kind but I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else. If you're looking for concrete resurfacing services I would not recommend Ken nor his products. Please see attached photos.

We hired Ken's Concrete Designs to pour a patio and a driveway at our home. Ken is very creative and the finished project exceeded our expectations! I can not recommend Ken's Concrete Designs highly enough. Ken poured and stamped a 12x22 patio for my wife and me. He used an Arizona Flagstone pattern and it is absolutely beautiful! Not only does this contractor know how to do exceptional concrete work, he is a pleasure to do business with. If you need concrete work, you will not be disappointed with Ken's Concrete Designs.

Ken is a wonderful person. We had hired a different contractor to add to our small existing patio and what a mess they made. After the cement pour they never came back to finish and left a mess in our yard. Thank God we found Ken and his company. They are so professional and they work hard. They turned an eye soar into a beautiful functional patio! We love it and love him and his company. Highly recommend him and his prices are very reasonable too!

We had Ken design and pour a 10x16 patio at home in Harvest after another contractor was a no show having waited several weeks for him to do the job. Ken was responsive and jumped on the project when promised. He and his crew were respectful and very professional. The end result was more than we could have dreamed of!

Ken redid our pool deck and we had a great experience with him and his crew. He quickly analyzed the problems with our old pool deck and completely explained the fix and offered design ideas during his first visit. He was true to his word every step of the way. I would highly recommend him for any concrete work.

Ken's Concrete was hired to remove and replace a slab. In the process his company cut the washing machine drain pipe and blocked it with a new slab. This contractor demolished an existing concrete slab and was instructed to replace it with the slab as shown in the architectural drawings for our residence. The work was started; however, daily oversight by myself was not possible or thought to be necessary.

I trusted him. After the work was completed he was paid in full. In June we started having issues with basement flooding from the A/C overflow drain pan in the basement. This is tied into the washing machine drain line. The washing machine is also located in the basement. After hiring a local plumber with a snake camera to locate the issue with the drain we discovered that the drain pipe had been broken and the new slab was poured right up to it.

This wasn't trivial. It required a concrete saw and much digging to expose the problem. I contacted Ken Moody, the owner, about the problem and his response was "It doesn't sound like me". He asked what he could do to fix it and I told him at the least he could replace the concrete after the plumbing was repaired. After repair of the drain I sent him a letter asking him to reimburse me for the damages.

This was $1040 for the discovery cost, $500 for the plumbing repair and $960 for replacement of the basement carpet that was damaged from the basement flooding. There was no response from Mr. Moody. Additionally, the sprinkler system was also damaged beyond repair and is needing to be replaced. The cost for that is close to $10K.

I am very happy with the work that Ken performed. We had a 14' x 14' stamped concrete patio and are very pleased. Ken was very professional, responded to phone calls, communicated well, and showed up to perform the work when he said he would. Overall, this was a good experience, and we plan on using him again for some future work.

My neighbor had stamping done to her concrete patio & it looked very nice so we called Kens concrete designs. I was able to contact Ken about referral to do our patron, porch and pergola floor. He stated he would be out next day for estimate. Next morning at noon he had not called nor shown so I text him. He said he'd be out later. Nope, later no call no show.

I called left 2 messages.no response. 3-days later he called and said he was across the street and wanted to know if I still wanted him to come, then said, "I don't have to if you prefer me not to come". I told him since he was so close, sure come on out. He showed up 5 min later with no pen, or paper, no measuring device, no samples. He was short with me and very rude.

He told me to go next door look at his work and if I like it he will come back. "Really?!.after all this, this is what you come up with? I already seen his work- it's been over a week and still can't get an estimate. I didn't see him again until a week later he walked up to my husband in back yard - my husband was staining pergola floor.ken said."did you decide if you want the work done to your concrete?

If not I'm leaving" - my husband told him to leave. We called Ken at Kens Concrete, Decorative Concrete in Huntsville (Beau Hancock), and AL Concrete Protector (ACP - Seth Brickner). Not one of these companies ever sent me an estimate or followed up with us. I followed up with all of them later - Beau at decorative concrete said his estimated was too busy with an estimate at "Ole Miss" - My husband and I are doing it ourselves: 14x16 pergola floor, 16x6 patio, back porch, drive way and sidewalk. I don't recommend the contractors I listed. They are rude, too busy and don't care about your business.

Did my back patio and built a grilling station. Well few months later I had cracks in the concrete and chipping. The built in grilling station was a waste, when I changed grills my new grill wouldn't fit I called Ken to see if could widening the space so that my new grill would fit. Well now that he had my money he lied and continue to say he would show up and never did. I would not do business with him! My warning to you!
