Bob and Marilyn Hanenburg founded Environmental Door in 1970. They started installing garage doors in response to a need by another local company that built pole buildings. Running the office out of their home, the couple stored doors at Grandpa Hanenburg's farm in Lamont, MI. It was difficult to start the business with their first son, Mark, just a baby.

Aluminum doors (injected with urethane, 1 thick doors) offer the advantage of being lighter (compare to a steel door) and therefore tend to be easier on their opening mechanism. In the long run, great savings can be made on maintenance costs since the mechanism will last longer. Other advantage: high resistance to salt air.

My garage door was getting really bad the cables kept uncoiling to the point where I requested a quote for a new door. When I called they asked if I would like a service call. I said yes maybe there is something they could do that I can't figure out. Sure enough they sent Rob out the same day. He came with some parts assessed the situation. Then he replaced the bearings adjusted everything, and oiled everything.
It now works better than it has in the last 10 years. Rob was very nice and professional. The price was better than I could have expected. I have worked with environmental door in the past, and their customer service is second to none. Environmental door is the only company I would recommend for any if your garage door needs or service. I am a very satisfied customer

I recently became a new home owner. Buying the house with the garage door broken, I was unsure what the issue might be. After calling environmental door, they were very helpful, scheduled a date/time within the week (most others were booked out) and found the issue & repaired it at a low cost and within twenty mins. Definitely will be using them in the future!

I received a mailer for their company, we were in need of having our springs replaced for our garage door. I called the number, they were very friendly and helpful. I was able to select the time and day for them to come to my house. The gentleman was great, very professional. It was a nice process from start to finish and the garage door works like a charm!

I have had them out periodically to maintain or fix my garage door. Most recently, a few of the rollers broke and door got completely bound up. They came right out and got the door back in working condition for the cost of a date night. Well worth the money spent, will always have them back for my garage door work.

We recently had a lag bolt pull loose from our garage ceiling when I pushed the button to close the garage door, causing the track to bend. When the track bent, the door was then stuck in the up position, and I was afraid all that weight on one bolt would cause either the frame to snap or the other lag bolt to come loose and the whole thing would collapse.
I called Environmental Door, close to panicked, and explained the situation. After I texted a few pictures, the person on the phone (who was very friendly and kind) said that they would have someone out to our house by 5:00. This was at 1 p.m., and I was pretty happy with that. In fact, though, they did much better than that. Someone was at our house by 2:30 and had it repaired before 3:30. All for under $100. I will absolutely be calling again if we ever have an issue involving a garage door.

Our garage door broke in the middle of the week, and we started researching local repairman. We found a coupon for environmental doors and decided to try them out. The folks at environmental door promptly responded to our calls, arrived on time and did an excellent job. Thanks for fixing our garage! If your garage is broken, I would highly recommend them

Faced with an after-hours service fee of at least $125, a track that was bent, cable that unwound and possibility of other companies being able to come over, I followed my handyman's suggestion to call Environmental door. Bob was here before the estimated timeframe, quoted me $85 and now it works better than it did BEFORE it broke and didn't charge for incidental parts (wheels and ball bearings). If you need someone you can trust to repair your busted garage door, call this company! Way to go!

Thoroughly unhappy with environmental door. Our garage door came loose at the hinges in the spring broke. This is the 3rd spring that has broken in 14 years. Called them to come and repair our door. The person I spoke with told me if they came that day, it was 4 o'clock at that time, it would be more expensive and he could save us money if we set it up for the next day.
I told them I would be home until noon and then again after two. They said They would come during that time. 10 minutes before noon I got a phone call saying the only time they could come was during the time I was gone. They said they wouldn't be in the area any longer. I tried to make an appointment for the next day and the person I spoke with said they could not confirm if or when they could come.
They showed absolutely no respect for my time and didn't really value me as a repeat customer. I called another garage door repair company and they were there within an hour. Will never use environmental door again and will never recommend them to anyone.
