Begin by choosing a color family then explore lighter and darker hues to find your perfect color. She immediately understood the look I was trying to produce and quickly identified a few options of paired house color and trim. She nailed it. As a person without any art/color background, I felt confused, uncertain and overwhelmed by the task of choosing paint colors.
Gayle made this task painless and frankly, easy!

Mr. Anderson had served as manager of Pontiac Varnish since 1940 before buying the store. He presided as President of Anderson Paint Company until retiring in 1970.

I have been a fan of Anderson Paint for many years. Staff that I have interacted with are very knowledgeable and friendly. During the pandemic I decided to paint our living room, kitchen, entrance way and upstairs hallway. Our home is surrounded by trees and seems very dark inside - I had their consultant come out to help me choose just the right color for our needs. All I can say is "love it"! Have purchased all our paint here for years (back to when they were downtown!). Over time, prices have skyrocketed and service has badly deteriorated. Last trip we purchased one gallon and one quart and it was $104. We also had to return to the store to have one of the gallons remixed because they mixed it incorrectly. While they acknowledged the error and provided a replacement at no cost (which is base expectation), there was no apology and the attitude seemed to be "yeah, it happens".
If you were paying attention to what you were doing and cared, it would not. For goodness sake, I brought in the empty can with the formula on the lid! And now I have to pay the painter to paint a wall the wrong color and for an extra coat or two with the right color to cover the darker wrong color. This was either the second or third time we had to return with an improperly mixed gallon when we had brought the empty in to mix it from!
When I asked to check that the correct formula was still under our account in their system, the employee would not and said that keeping the formulas for all of our rooms in their system was a lot to try to keep track of. I do not care for Sherwin Williams but this long-time customer may be headed there going forward. Sad. Was once an amazing place with reasonable prices for the quality of paint received and employees who at least acted like they cared about customers.

I cannot say enough good things about Anderson! We tackled a messy home renovation project (removing mastic and painting a basement laundry room floor), and when the paint we used stayed sticky after weeks, John came to our house not once, but 3 times to help figure out the problem and find a solution. They were able to supply us with materials to remedy the problem and truly went above and beyond in terms of customer service.
I will never buy paint from another store because you cannot match that kind of customer service elsewhere. Good paint is expensive, but having a team that ensures everything is perfect is priceless!

I have been buying paint at Anderson Paint for many years. but I have only recently discovered their color consultant, Gayle Pesek. Gayle clearly knows the Benjamin Moore line so well and understands how the color will translate when applied with both interior and exterior use. She is incredibly personable, skilled and knowledgeable and was able to help me create the look I am hoping for rather than trying to get me to adopt her tastes, as other consultants have done.
In addition, Gayle and the others at Anderson Paint have cultivated longtime working relationships with local painters. This helps to facilitate the process when having work done professionally. They are also well informed and glad to guide you when you're doing the work yourself.

These guys know their stuff. They carry only premium products- including a lot of Benjamin Moore and Sikkens. The prices may be a little higher than big box stores, but the knowledgeable staff more than makes up for the difference. They have the best color matches, and if you need to know the appropriate product to apply to, say an exterior metal railing with slight rust, they will have the correct answer.
At a big box store, you don't know if the paint specialist just started working after a 10 hr crash course in paint products. At Anderson's, you can count on professional advice. Five stars for these guys, and I've been buying paint from them for many years.
