Since 2001, Adam & Sonia Traugott founders of Sunset Pools have been designing and building breathe taking custom pools in the Katy, Cypress, Sugar Land, Houston and surrounding cities. With a goal to set themselves apart from other builders, always stay on the cutting edge, create backyards for healthy fun living and above all create swimming pools that will give years of enjoyment for our customers and their families.
Our team of designers can create spectacular, custom backyard escapes - from swimming pools and spas to landscaping, patios and more. They'll work closely with you to create a detailed vision and budget that features the latest innovations in technology and design. Check out some of our finished creations.
During our initial visit, we will collaborate with you to get an idea of what your vision for your space entails, and will show you the endless possibilities. After our initial meeting, we will schedule a meeting at our office (usually 10 days from our original meeting) to present our proposal to you.
Founders Adam & Sonia Traugott have been actively involved in these organizations. Staying current in the industry's Associations provides the knowledge to build beautiful pools. Adam Traugott is a Nationally Certified Pool Building Professional by the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals since 2005.

We engaged with Sunset Pools to do redo our whole backyard (leveling it out, putting in drainage, and adding landscaping), put in a pergola, and of course put in a pool! We had a great experience with Sunset in all phases of the project. They communicated fully and clearly each step of the way, and when there were obstacles (like a city permitting process that has so much bureaucracy!) they patiently worked through them and got everything done in such a high quality way.
The end result is awesome.we LOVE our backyard, pergola and pool and use it all the time. It was truly an extreme makeover over our backyard, and Sunset did such high quality, professional, and pretty work all the way through. I highly recommend them for any pool/backyard/patio/pergola project you are considering.

Our designer Kirstie Martinez was excellent at working with us to develop our dream pool design and she was always responsive whenever we had questions or concerns. The project manager Felipe always went above and beyond and made the whole construction experience seamless and without stress. The group provided us updates every week so we knew what to expect and the project was done timely. Highly recommend them for your backyard project!

We couldn't be happier that we chose Sunset Pools for our dream backyard. We had several neighbors use them and we were impressed from the very beginning. Kirstie came to us wearing a mask and sat with us on our patio and listened well to our vision. She left us a folder describing the material they use and we were pleased that they used all top of the line products.
She took pictures of our house and yard so the software pool designs she created were so helpful in making our final pool/outdoor kitchen placement decisions. Tori was always helpful during the scheduling process and Will, our build manager kept us informed and spotted a mistake that we didn't notice and had it fixed right away! We built during the height of an unprecedented pool building season in addition to the Covid outbreak.
We did have a few delays from 2 hurricanes and Covid illnesses of crews but those were unavoidable. We have gotten so many compliments on the pool and have begun making wonderful memories. Thank You Sunset Pools!

Professional, friendly, and great customer service. The team at Sunset Pools does everything in their power to make the pool building experience a positive one. Our lot is not very big and there were two trees we wanted to preserve. This was no problem for them. Great design and saved our trees. Follow up after pool start up has been amazing. To top it off they did a wonderful job on the landscape. Would recommend Sunset Pools to anyone wanting a quality pool built by a company who takes customer service seriously.

Sunset pools was very responsive and very professional from our first meeting at our house with their sales professional all the way through the process. They made us feel at home and worked with us on design changes. The support staff is unbelievable coordinating all the people and communicating with us on when things would be done. We never had to guess on what was taking place. Would highly recommend using Sunset for anyone in the market for a pool. They made our backyard dream become a reality.

We completed an outdoor living area and pool project with Sunset Pools in February 2018. We're so grateful we found Sunset and we're absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out. Sunset Pools made our dream backyard a reality! Everyone we dealt with at Sunset Pools was awesome and the client service mentality really showed in every interaction we had.
The design team, the office staff, the project management team, and the various subcontractor crews were all the best at what they do. Every construction project has challenges and the true test of a builder is how they deal with those challenges. Sunset was extremely responsive and really exceled at making sure all our concerns were fully addressed from the beginning of the project all the way through the startup of our pool.
During the design they listened to our desires, no matter how bizarre (pool chiller, bar stools built-in to the spa, heaters in the covered patio, etc.), and incorporated every single one of them into an amazing design. During the construction process we received daily updates on all the upcoming construction activities and our project manager did a phenomenal job of making sure the finished product matched the design perfectly. We highly recommend Sunset Pools!

Our pool was finished early July 2017. The PROS: The auto-fill/self drain mechanism as well as the floor drains all worked like a champ during Harvey and we get tons of compliments on the outdoor structure and overall design. We are pleased with the pool equipment - all current technology as far as pools go. The CONS: While the pool went quickly, the outdoor kitchen & bathroom dragged. All-in-all, construction was 4-1/2 months (not terrible), but required my constant attention to detail and the schedule.
If it were not for my constant calls and emails, I think we'd have gone all summer with no pool, no doubt another month. We encountered subs who constantly no-showed, a lack of follow-up after initial conversations about issues, sump pump installation issues and frequent plumbing leaks and gas leaks (post construction). Everything ultimately gets resolved, and Sunset has always been responsive to us, however, the construction experience left me frustrated more days than not.

I would run away from this unprofessional business. We used them a couple of years ago and had the worst experience. They charge you premium prices for subpar work. They took 90% at the start of the project and then stopped our project for months. It took 6 months for our pool/patio project to be complete and we had so many issues. We paid over 100k for our project, and were left feeling ripped off.
Our stamped concrete doesn't match, our two sided fireplace breaks often, our hot tub design is poor so that if kids are in the hot tub playing, mounds of water floods onto our patio. We have spa tiles that fall off on a regular basis. My sister (who lives a mile from us) got a pool a year after we did with a different company. She had a completely different experience.
This company is the biggest rip off, and we genuinely are not high maintenance people. However, this company did not follow through on their promises. They have fancy designs that they do not implement well.
