Really helpful team in unusual circumstances with a family member's property. Jerry installed a new hot water heater and did a gas safety test after a flood, only to find the county had cut off water to the house (rather than only our internal cutoff as we thought). When we got it back on, Jerry was kind enough to come out at no charge and get the pilot light lit - which did actually need an adjustment to start. Price was much lower than a quote from another company and service was top notch - hard to ask for more!

In Oct 2020, I received a quote from Atherton to install a water and drain line for an accessory structure in my back yard. The project was stalled because of architectural plan issues and in Dec 2020 they called to find out if I was going to proceed with the project because they had applied and received a permit. I explained my delay and that I had full intention of having them perform the work and would pay the permit fee.
I requested they send me the bill. In Feb 2021, I call to advise Atherton the project was proceeding and wanted to schedule a time for them to perform the work. The next day I received an email from them stating their excavator had decided the job was "bigger than" they could handle and they have "declined" my project. Approx. 1 month later I received an invoice for the permit fee.
I discarded it because I don't back out on the project, Atherton did. In May I received a "Pass Due" invoice from Atherton for the permit fee and decided to call them. I explained that yes, I agreed to pay for the permit fee in Dec. when they were still willing perform the work but now that they have "declined" because of the scope of the job, I was not going to pay the permit fee.
The office manager was very rude and informed me that they would never do any plumbing work for me, as if I asked. Hmmmm - If I had received the invoice in Dec and paid it, would they have refunded my payment when they backed out of the job because was "bigger than" they could handle. I don't think so.

Upon moving into our new home, we realized all the shutoff valves were broken. We called, and while they responded quickly, the tech who visited did not come prepared to do work and we had to call the city to find the water main. When the tech returned, he only fixed a small portion of what we requested be done (said he didn't come back with all the parts and that we would have to pay for return visit) AND took all the spare parts he removed from the pipe.
We then had to go out and repurchase supplies to put the sink back on the pipes. For the amount of work we requested, the price we were charged, and the quality of work that was done, we were VERY disappointed. Had we know this would be the quality of work we got, we would have found someone else to do the job so it was done completely. If you don't have any experience with plumbing, call someone else who can do the full job for you.

Critical: Professionalism Had kitchen sink and faucet installed. Issues after installation with leak under garbage disposal. Customer service/female answering for this company is rude and defensive. Hung up on, no notice of late arrival for repair. Told by female/customer service representative that she "was having a bad day" so don't complain to her. Service: Faucet installation

We had what I thought was a sewer line leak this past weekend. We called A-Atherton because we had used them in the past, and once again we were not disappointed. Mike, the plumber came to the house and quickly diagnosed that our problem was not a sewer line leak, but a water leak. He quickly, and efficiently fixed our problem. He was very friendly, and knowledgeable.
He was willing to work through your home contract company to get the authorization to fix the problem within our home contract terms. If you ever have a plumbing problem, make your first call to A-Atherton. They are responsive, reasonable, and most importantly, good. You will not be disappointed.

We were amazed by the service provided by A-Atherton plumbing. From the quote all the way to the finish. They made sure our salon was fully up to code and they were very reasonable for as many times as they had to come out and complete the project. Jerry that did the work was very knowledgeable and more than helpful throughout the project. We were very pleased and will use them for any of our future plumbing needs. Highly recommend.
