Prince & Sons, Inc. is a NC Licensed Residential and Commercial General Contracting Company and is a certified lead renovator, specializing in both residential and commercial renovations.Ben works alongside his two sons, David and Patrick. David, joined the company in 2011 upon his commencement from East Carolina University's Construction Management program, while Patrick, followed in 2012 upon his commencement from North Carolina State University's College of Design's Landscape Architecture program.

Prince & Sons, Inc. has been providing a wide array of general contracting and home renovation services to homeowners in the Triangle for more than 20 years. Real estate around the triangle area has always been hard to find. Many times, homeowners are sacrificing quality and space in a home for a more prime location. This is especially true in Durham. I was very nervous about starting my kitchen remodel project but Prince & Sons really made it easy. They helped render the design of our kitchen as a 3D model so we could be comfortable with everything before we moved forward. Unlike many contractors, they were highly communicative and got back to me about each of my questions without me needing to keep following up and checking.
With any of decisions I had to make where I had options on what I could choose (i.e. what tile to use, what floor to use, which countertops to select, etc.), they always made sure to point me in the right direction as to what I could select from and worked with me to help me understand how my decisions would impact the overall budget. They were very respectful of my house and property and any follow up requests have been met with the same amount of graciousness. Very trustworthy and friendly people to work with!

Prince & Sons did a two phase renovation for us in 2021. The first phase was for our upstairs living space, the second for our kitchen, laundry room and powder. They exceeded expectations with their consistent communication, collaboration and honest, transparent pricing. We were provided with a Google Calendar for project management as well as updates on pricing, delays (of which there were very little) and contact numbers for whenever we had questions or concerns. Ben, Patrick & David were all very responsive with any inquiries, changes and concerns.
The quality of their work and their subcontractors work is paramount. Our kitchen has the aesthetic of Architectural Digest but with the function a home cook seeks. We cannot speak highly enough of Prince & Sons and are so thankful they were able to add us to their busy calendar.

Experience, reliability, and a good reputation. This is what we understood to look for in a general contractor. And, in that pursuit, we are happy to share that with Prince and Sons we achieved those objectives. Actually, exceeded those expectations. Our renovation project happened over the course of 4 months and included an entire custom home remodel of a 1970 residential brick ranch.
It was in need of a serious upgrade. The scope of work included the following: repairing rotted flooring and floor joists where applicable, replacing and relocating the electrical panel, replacing a water heater with a tankless, on demand system, removing a wall between the kitchen and dining, increasing the size of a bedroom, doing a complete kitchen and two bathroom remodel, updating the original 1970 brick fireplace which included adding a beautiful repurposed mantle with accent lighting and shiplap above the mantle, an extension of a laundry room, installing new hardwood floors and refinishing other established ones, upgraded lighting throughout, adding ceiling fans, installing new windows, changing out all interior doors, adding pocket doors to one bathroom and the extended laundry room, and fresh painting throughout.
We asked Ben Prince, President of Prince and Sons, and his sons, Patrick and David, to provide us an updated, safe, and quality build renovation throughout the entire home. We wanted to "take back the house". They did not blink at the challenge. We spent a lot of time in contact with Team Prince. They provided us a plan. They adapted the plan and tweaked where applicable over the course of the remodel.
We worked well with them. Trust is earned. We came to trust Ben as our relationship developed. In the course of this project we met many wonderful people. And they work hard! None more than one of Prince and Sons own team members -Isac. Isac is a kind, super and trustworthy individual and hard worker. For us, we never looked over our shoulder second guessing our decision.
There were no blind leaps of faith once we started. We never just hoped it would work. Ben and his sons gained our confidence and brought our vision to reality. The quality of their work was without question and simply outstanding. Ben always has a plan and it works. He is a born leader. Let him exercise his plan. Let him lead and have all the worries and do his job.
He welcomes the challenge. He will pull you in when you need to be. He will give you things to think about when necessary and share with you lessons learned when applicable. We partnered with Prince and Sons for our first ever bathroom remodel. We could not have picked a more professional, commutative, and skilled team of contractors/sub-contractors. Even with the supply chain challenges due to COVD-19 our project was completed right on time. Patrick and David kept us informed every step of the way and gave us great options to choose from for tile, grout, granite, cabinets and floors.
Every day they left the project very clean and tidy (which was huge pending we lived in the house as the remodel took place). Prince and Sons exceeded our expectations and we are beyond happy with our new bathroom!

Prince & Sons are fabulous to work with. They helped us with major interior renovation and adding a screen porch and deck. These were extensive projects involving numerous tradespeople and several inspections. The Prince & Sons team are consummate professionals who both enjoy and take pride in their work. From initial consultation, through planning, permit submission, scheduling, demolition, foundation strengthening, wall reconfiguration, rough-in work, flooring, electrical, finish work, painting (interior and exterior) decking, screening, roofing, downspouts, gutter covers, and final inspection they are meticulous, communicative, and on-time.
Their attention to detail be it tiling, cabinet installation, finish carpentry is second to none. The job site looked great at the end of each day and everyone took appropriate Covid precautions. Prince & Sons helped us find savings and enjoyed incorporating a couple challenges - e.g. a horizontal laundry chute and infrared porch heaters - both of which look and function beautifully. We had Prince and Sons add on a sunroom, new deck, and new siding on the entire house. We couldn't be happier with the quality of work. Everything was done in a professional manner and as specified. Prince and Sons could not have been easier to work with. We had them do an entire kitchen renovation in our house, and throughout the one-month process, they kept us informed of everything through a shared Google calendar (convenient) and email/phone. They were fantastic to work with, the end result looked great, and we felt comfortable that they were honest and reliable. Highly recommend!
