We may be a 50-year-old company, but one thing's for sure: We're the rare Amarillo-area foundation contractor willing to evolve as our customers' needs evolve. Always have been. Always will be. Childers Brothers began life as a painting/house-moving company in the late 1960s. Brothers Gaylon and Darrol were the founders, and they ran separate sides of the business-Gaylon handled the painting, while Darrol moved houses. This is why Gaylon ALWAYS performed cosmetic crack repairs to customers' walls before he painted.
A big reason many foundation solutions fail is due to lack of proper diagnosis. And when you consider how quick and superficial the average foundation inspection is, it's easy to see why most diagnoses are wrong. And you shouldn't, since it takes MUCH more testing than that to diagnose a serious ailment accurately.

Used Childers Brothers after a crack was occurring in the exterior of my house. If you have limited knowledge of this type of problem, as I do, you should get a second opinion or discuss with an knowledgeable builder. Heavy sales pitch and some scare tactics presented and very expensive. They performed the work, which was quite expensive, by a very nice and capable crew. Unfortunately, there was no improvement of the crack down the side of the exterior and two piles of dirt against the side of the house that has not settled. $12,000 for 12 hours of work that did not improve the look of the house.

I asked Childress Brothers to come look at my home. I'd noticed some cracks in my garage floor. Their rep., Cameron Smith, came. After a throughly good check, he determined that my home is very solid, the cracks are normal curing and that I did not need any type of leveling! I can assure you, if I ever have questions again, this is the only company I'll call!

Top notch foundation inspectors. We had them look at a house and they we very detailed and let us know every issue the home had.
