We are the only chimney contractor in the greater Kansas City area who carries a Master Mechanical License and pulls permits for chimney repair and relining work. This is required by city ordinance in all 28 metro cities. Check with your local building official for more information. HearthMasters has been restoring, maintaining, and building chimneys and fireplaces since 1982. We do all aspects of masonry chimney repair, service, and inspections. Our employees regularly attend chimney conventions, meetings, and classes to maintain CEU credits for their certification credentials and to keep informed of the latest changes in codes, methods, and equipment. The industry is constantly changing and we must keep up with it in order to provide the best possible service for our customers.
This is an inset to use with a mantel surround. Highlight polished cast iron with grate and damper opening. If you want to use this for coal or wood burning you will need to remove the entire top damper. We have a few unusual real antique and antique replica mantels and other hearth products. We do not ship but if you want to make arrangements to have your shipper crate and pick up we will be happy to work with you. All of the cities in the greater Kansas City area require an HVAC, Craftsman, or Class DM Mechanical License in order to install flue liners, install hearth appliances, or do chimney repair or installation. To date, HearthMasters is the only chimney contractor with this license. Gene Padgitt is our license holder and he is licensed in Raytown, Lee's Summit, Independence, Gladstone, Johnson County, and Kansas City, Missouri. Other cites recognize the license. The counties of Jackson and Clay also require licensing.

The gentleman who worked at our house yesterday were very thorough, professional, courteous, and were very careful to clean up their work area. I was very impressed with your first employee when he came to do the inspection and again with the men who did the work.

We have used HearthMasters for years and are never disappointed. Gene and Marge provide straightforward information, respond promptly to emails or messages and make sure our chimney and wood burning stove are clean and safe for burning fires. We recently moved, and I noticed some things that were unsettling with our fireplace. I called HearthMasters, and Gene (the owner) came out, inspected it, and performed a routine maintenance, and even (practically) re-installed the unit! The logs and the fan were never installed correctly, and he took care of everything! Really grateful for his honesty and integrity and his knowledge of fireplaces/chimneys. We will definitely use HearthMasters in the future for all of our fireplace needs.

Hearthmasters was the only one in town brave enough to take on my wood insert project which was a little out of the ordinary. We have thick decorative stone face on our fireplace and we wanted the unit recessed in the opening so as not to distract from the look. This required cutting down the trim pieces to fit an uneven opening. Gene, Marge and their crew did an excellent job on the project and we couldn't be happier with the results.

Just got a brand new chimney built on my 90 year old house by these guys and they were amazing! Not only did they fix my leaking chimney but, they ended up saving me $1000.00 dollars. I have been dreading having this work done for years because I just knew they were going to tell me I needed to have the chimney rebuilt and it would be an ordeal. After working with HearthMasters, I only wish I would've called them sooner.
They were professional, courteous, and took extra time to explain what they were doing each day every step along the way. Its nice to see that there are still craftsmen around today that take pride in the work that they do. I look forward to working with them in the future.

Gene and his crew were wonderful! We had a chimney fire and our insurance company tried to deny our claim but Marge at Hearth Masters helped us fight the insurance company and prove that per our policy it was a coverable loss. They replaced our chimney liner and firebox and we couldn't be happier. Gene made sure we were well informed on everything he was doing or going to have to do so there were no surprises.
We can't sing their praises enough. Although a chimney is an often neglected part of the home we have been telling all of our friends, family, and coworkers that if they need anything done don't even bother calling around and just call Hearth Masters. If my wife ever convinces me to put in the brick pizza oven in the back yard she's always wanted I'll know who will be putting it in!

We were so pleased with the work completed by Padgitt Chimney (Hearthmasters.) The three chimneys on our 80 year old building were all in need of repair and upgrade. Gene and Marge Padgitt both worked with us to explore the best options for saving money on our utility bills and improving the appearanceof the fireplaces. We chose gas log inserts for two of the fireplaces and a relining for the third.
They turned out beautifully! They completed the work on time and cleaned up afterward! We felt that they were very safety conscious and helped us find the best reasonably priced solution.
