There are many different ways to build swimming pools using various materials. There was a time when some pools were built using plywood as the frame to hold a liner, and we have actually done renovations on a couple of these type pools through our service division. But for our purposes, we should look at the three most common types of swimming pools available today.
The initial consultation process involves just having a conversation with one of our pool consultants to discuss your vision of your dream backyard paradise. We discuss your wants and needs, likes and dislikes and help to narrow down the many San Juan Pools models and help you build the backyard you have always wanted.

WARNING! ABLE does not stand behind their customers and their contractors do not stand behind their work. They took my recently widowed mother for $16,000.00. The water table rose, they had to bring up the floor a foot or so. After 4 months and $16,000.00 later my mother swam in the pool once when it started to leak. My mother 1st contacted the contractor, then ABLE. Both Able and the contractor ghosted her. Charlatans! Fraudsters! BEWARE!

I purchased an in ground pool from Able Pools and Spas while Frank Kearney still owned the company. Was in the process of building a new home. When it was time to install the pool that I had bought, I found out that Frank Kearney has sold the business to Sam Manoogian. I was not aware until it was time to install. Apparently the new owner was clearing out old inventory for a salt system (as I was told by service tech, Mike Ruitto, that had worked for Frank Kearney and stayed with Manoogian).
I had multiple problems with the salt system with the mother board being replaced twice shortly after the install and finally failing again about 3 years later and found out that brand was no longer available so I had to have another pool company install a new salt system. Last Thursday my Astralpool salt filter tank ruptured almost draining my pool before we were able to turn off the system.
When I called Able regarding warranty on the tank (Astralpool's site indicates a 10 year warranty on the tank) I find that they no longer sell OR service Astralpool products and that I could buy a new system from them or deal directly with Astralpool regarding any warranty coverage. They offered zero assistance with the product that I was sold by them.
The company gets good reviews from current customers but does not offer any assistance to customers that were in the process when the business changed hands. Based on this experience, I would not recommend them.

Critical: Responsiveness I understand pool companies are very busy these days, but common courtesy to keep in touch with a potential customer! Asked for pricing was told a month and a half ago they were working on assessment. Emailed them two weeks ago to find out if there was any word on assessment. I have not received a response! Getting my pool elsewhere!

They waited patiently for me while I finished building my new home, and as soon as it was completed, they came in and started their install.
The crew was always polite, hard working, and skilled. When laying out the concrete, they again listened to my thoughts and laid it out exactly as I wanted. Dave came and showed me how to care for the pool, and has been so responsive to my text messages asking for assistance. I can't speak highly enough about this organization. When I can, I'm going to get a hot tub to finish my project, and I won't shop anywhere else! Thanks for an awesome experience.

I am so happy with my new J-335 Jacuzzi. It has helped so much with my back issues. A big huge thank you to Tiffany who walked me through the whole process. She was very personable and knows the products she is selling. I have had the jacuzzi for about a month and she just called to check on me to see how I was enjoying it, now that is great customer service!

The staff at Able were incredible every step of my pool install process! I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone in the Wilmington area, they actually value their customers unlike a few of the other pool companies I spoke to. Also, I'd like to mention that Susan is an absolute delight, if I ever open a second location for my business close to the coast: I'd hire her on the spot! Thank y'all so much!
