Called Dan Handy after needing some repairs done on/in my house. Dan was very responsive and has done a phenomenal job on the work. He also helped me find ways to save money on certain repairs when heavier repairs weren't warranted such as brick repair that a brick layer was going to charge me $700. Highly recommend!

Dan's very professional and does high-quality work. Most importantly, he's very ethical and honest in his business dealings. For example, he readily told me my leaky windows just needed to be recaulked rather than replaced, even though it meant a much smaller job for him. Having a handyman you can trust is paramount! I've used Dan's services multiple times around my house within the past few months.
So far, he's (1) replaced my kitchen sink and faucet, (2) repaired a leaky bathroom faucet, (3) recaulked my windows to prevent leaks, (4) replaced water-damaged window sills and painted the replacements, (5) repainted several damaged doors, and (6) fixed some damaged alarm system receptors. Dan does a good job of communicating about the repairs, what needs to be done, and any unexpected foibles that pop up along the way.
He's very pleasant to deal with and fair in his pricing and policies. I'll definitely be using Dan's services to fix other things around my house in the future. Pro-tip: Dan's voicemail is oftentimes full. Text him at his business number or email through his website for the quickest response times.

I can hardly express how grateful I am to Dan. I was in Dallas recently to clear out the home of a family member who had died. Over several weeks, I found that various repairs were needed, from installing a ceiling fan and repairing locks to reinforcing fences and diagnosing a hot tub problem. Dan did a great job on all of them. He is both speedy and effective--a rare combination. It's so hard to find people who do good work these days. I only wish Dan worked as a handyman here in Idaho, where I live.

Dan showed up on time after we had set up a time for him to come by. He did a great job with a variety of tasks including: putting up ceiling fans, installing a new storm door (including repairing some shoddy work done in the past), putting up floating shelves and fixing a bathroom door latch. My wife and I were very happy with the quality of the work and his positive demeanor. Highly recommend.

Do you know how rare it is for a contractor to show up, even after saying they would? Not only did Dan come 1.25 hrs out of his way to give me (a stranger) a quote on the DAY I called; but he also spent 8 hours at my house the very next day on a SUNDAY. 8 hours ON FATHERS DAY! (He left for 30 minutes to go to Lowe's.) If that doesn't tell you he wants your business, I don't know what does. He did everything I asked him to do and I've already booked him for 2 more days. All the Honey Dos that my Honey don't, Dan DOES!

Dan removed and installed new mirrors and sconces in my bathroom (including drywall repair and repainting). He was very efficient and made the bathroom look good as new. It was also very helpful that he was able to work in the evenings to accommodate my work schedule. I highly recommend him for jobs big or small around your house. He also charges a reasonable hourly rate.

I hired Dan back in January. My wife had had a stroke and while she was recovering in a rehabilitation center. I was told I needed to make my bathroom handicap friendly so to speak. I had no clue who to call for something like that. And on such short notice as well. So I was speaking with my neighbor, Mr. Schlinke, one day and I told him about my situation.
First words out of his mouth where" You should call Dan, he can do absolutely everything involved with residential repair and remodeling" So with no other options on the table, I gave him a call. I think the pictures speak for themselves. Not only did he do an outstanding job as far as quality of work goes, but he worked day and night to get it completed before my wife would come home from rehab. Needless to say, she was thrilled when she got home and saw the new bathroom.

We have been using Handy Dan for many years here in Dallas, Texas. It's hard to find a very nice, respectful, talented handyman that you can depend on - and at a great price. Jose Villareal from Handy Dan was our go-to handyman from 2012 - 03/2015 for two different homes. He always showed up on time, was communicative, and did a professional job on a wide variety of services - such as repairing water damage to dry wall, fixing a door frame, building us a custom fence with metal posts, fixed plumbing issues, repaired widow, carpentry, painting, and probably more that I'm forgetting.
In other words, we were lucky to find Jose and are very sad to not be able to use his services anymore, as we are moving away from Dallas. So, the very least we could do was to write him a good review for others to see.

We had a number of projects that we needed to have done, including rehanging doors, installing lights, painting cabinets, etc. We've found their work to be really inconsistent. Two of the guys that came over to rehang doors did a terrible job, and actually damaged our wood floors, and the more senior repair guy had to go back and fix all of the work the best he could.
The final work product was very mediocre. The more senior guy did some other work for me fixing the underside of the front porch roof and did a good job. We had a painter paint our cabinets and he did a good job. While the work has been hit or miss, the thing I've been most unimpressed with has been the administrative part of Handy Dan. Thinking of them as a more formalized handyman service, I would expect them to be better with the back office stuff. However, all three invoices I've gotten have had issues where I've had to push back. They've been cooperative, but are just incompetent.
The part that most frustrates me though is that when I do get the invoices, on all three there have been additional charges that were not on the bid, and I've had to argue with them to adjust. They have given no notice that there would be additional charges, most notably with the painting. Further, the bids only reflect labor, and materials are in addition. It's hard to get a sense of what the total will be, and there appears to be little accountability on how materials are rang up.
We had to push back on materials for the painting, when we thought they were excessive. The staff said they'd get back to us on that, and it's been a month and still no response from them. Overall, I would really have a hard time giving Handy Dan my endorsement to anyone to use them.
