That depends on which type of polyurethane finish is used on the hardwood. Different water-based polyurethane finishes have different curing out periods. You should either check with your hardwood flooring company or follow the manufacturer's recommendation regarding the best time to begin moving furniture and appliances in on your hardwood floors.

All installation and finishing is performed in accordance with the standards set by the National Oak Flooring Manufacturers' Association (NOFMA) and the National Wood Flooring Manufacturers' Association (NWFA).All installations of " thick hardwood flooring are performed using 2" powercleat nails (NO STAPLES).
All of our hardwood flooring is Unfinished " thick and available in widths ranging from 2-" wide up to 7" wide, except Pine which is available in widths ranging from 3-1/8" wide up to 12" wide. In addition to the different Species of woods, hardwood flooring also comes in different "Grades" of wood.

Stay away! We hired them to refinish our floors and due to work, we had to be out of town. Big mistake! They did not do the repairs they should have and only put 1 coat of poly on them. Looked great at first, but scratched very quickly. After review of their work, they only put 1 coat of poly on the floors and said they did 3. She came to our other house to pick up a check.
Left the house and ran straight to my bank to cash it. That is just weird. She left us some stain for me to do our transitions and it was the wrong color. I called her numerous times with no call back.
