High Velocity Wind Zone areas such as South Florida and Texas require the HVHZ model to meet the code requirements of those states. Hugh Gallagher and the Solar Illuminations team replaced 6 skylights in our house in August, 2021. Those skylights were "fixed" multiple times before but continued to leak. After the installation all skylights are leak free. Hugh was extremely professional, never pushed and always provided complete information. It was a pleasure to deal with him and the work was well done. The pricing was fair as well. Would recommend to anyone looking for new or replacement skylights.

I had a bad leak in the ceiling a year ago. Several roofers recommended roof replacement including the 2 skylights. But the roof was only 16 years old, so my instinct pointed to getting new skylights. Velux was the trust-worthy brand with NO-LEAK warranty. I found Hugh Gallagher's company Solar Illuminations with 5-star reviews on Velux website. Mr. Gallagher was responsive with estimate and installation, he also reminded me about the energy saving incentives.
After installation, he programmed the remote control and made sure I was familiar and comfortable with the skylights and build-in blinds operation. Unfortunately, I found the ceiling was wet again months later. Mr. Gallagher personally climbed up the roof to check. This spring, he again brought the installer/roofer, Larry, to check to be sure. Larry pulled out 3 rusted nails in the shingles, unrelated to the skylights, as the culprit of the ceiling leaks.
The level of service and after-installation care has been above and beyond ordinary. Last week, when we had an 80-degree warm day, I tried to open the skylights but found the remote malfunctioned. I call Hugh again. He drove 45-minutes to come out to help. I apologized to Hugh that I had become a pest, but he smiled and assured me that he wanted to be sure I was happy with the product and the service.

My wife and I are very happy Hugh Gallagher of "Solar Illuminations" did an outstanding job with the removal of our 26 years old leaking skylights and installed two new VELUX Solar Powered with internal shades "Fresh Air" Skylight systems in one day. Hugh and his installation team's workmanship is Excellent, they didn't stop until the job was done.
The installation process was well planned and executed excellently. Their price quote fit our budget and was pleased a large amount of work was done for the amount we paid. Hugh cleaned up after the installation was completed and removed the old leaking skylights, he fully tested both new skylights and show me how to operate and program the remote control and smart mobile controller. Hugh even called us back a couple of weeks later to make sure there was no leeks and the operation of the windows were working with no issues(this is a person who really care about his work and wants to make sure his customers are very happy). Hugh Gallagher and the Solar Illuminations team install four skylights on our home in June 2018 after evaluating the condition of all 13 units on our roof. Hugh was great to work with throughout the process. He was responsive to all our questions, made a detailed analysis of the condition of all the units and provided us options for repair / replacement.
Solar Illuminations is a pleasure to work with and provides a frank assessment of cost based upon your budget. Hugh was on the roof despite the rain to make certain everything would fit according to Velux specifications. Hugh kept me informed of everything during the process and installed the units on a timely basis as promised. Hugh even went beyond normal expectations as we had a unit that required a unique shape not available from Velux.
He worked with us to order the correct unit which had to be manufactured to fit the skylight opening. Hugh had the unit shipped to his location, transported to our home and install it without us even being in town during the process. He is truly a dedicated and thoughtful businessman who I highly recommend to anyone seeking to purchase or replace their skylights.

Hugh Gallagher replaced a Skylight for me and the roof area around the skylight started leaking recently. I called Hugh and he claimed he came and checked it out and resealed it. It continued leaking and I placed multiple calls and emails to Hugh and he never returned my calls or emails. I had a roofer come over to check it and he found the plywood under the shingles totally rotted out right above the Skylight. The entire roof area that Hugh had replaced during the installation had to be redone. I would definitely not recommend this company for your work.
