Finished Basement

We decided to remodel our basement in 2019, and, of all the companies we interviewed, FBC Remodel offered the most organized, best designed, most exciting plan. They took care of everything, from conducting an inspiring design meeting to contracting to mitigate asbestos and wall bracing to carefully working to add finishing touches to make it all beautiful.

They stayed exactly on schedule and communicated clearly with us at every step. We are in love with the result. In fact, FBC's renovation of our basement has made us feel like we purchased a new home. They turned an outdated, largely unusable space into a multi-use space we love. We would recommend this company to anyone.

Tldr; Month past due and still not urgent. The sales process and initial design is great, but after you give them the first check, all the promises about the process, and being stress free is lip service. Don't pay the extra for project management, it's free from any general contractor and probably better service. Just got off the phone and CFO is unwilling to agree they should keep their guarantee of $50/day because I gave them the check.

They were running a day late and I stupidly gave them the check when the job wasn't finished. We've had issues getting the bathroom done correctly which they are calling warranty work to avoid paying the $50/day penalty if they go over the deadline. The shower hasn't been usable to this point so I'm not sure how you can call it done.

Not to mention, now there is no urgency to get this finished. Feb 12th was the project end date. Communication - The communication is awful. At the beginning we wrote it off, but mid-project it's clear that it's just the way it is. Very important details not discussed between their crew so asks don't get done unless you are constantly wearing a project management hat.

The change order process and flexibility they speak of so highly doesn't translate to all the necessary work because of lack of communication and lack of attention to details. Be prepared to constantly follow up with any requests, very frustrating. Quality of work - We love the design and looks great but if you are not paying attention, you will have some things missed that you may not know about. Clean-outs covered up in the walls, HVAC vents covered up in drywall, low volt wires and conduit drywalled in for example. Backing for barn doors not installed correctly, generally thoughtless work that should be caught by the project manager but won't be.

The bathroom has been a nightmare, shoddy work, still gaps in the grout, two colored grout from the patch job they had to do because they tiled before the new window was put it. If I wasn't involved directly with the tile folks, the tile wouldn't have had proper concrete backer or water sealing and look like garbage. You would think the project manager would want the same quality but doesn't seem to be the case. I've had to be the one pointing out these issues and interfacing with the tile folks.

Not what I paid for. Stress free - no. We started early because they had a cancellation and in the beginning, that seemed to be the scape goat for the frustration but it just never stopped. We've had several other issues as well, blinds thrown away, expensive wood scraps repurposed by carpenters for personal projects etc, the stress has been constant.

We did a lot to help them get this job done, working on weekends, storage in the garage, taking deliveries and that attitude just isn't reciprocated. When I escalated this to the business manager, they said they'd have to approve the $50/day but she agreed the job wasn't finished. I pressed to get verification that it was approved and it wasn't until 2 weeks later, today, that she said this is warranty work, a direct contradiction of what was said earlier. Again, give I can't even use the shower, I'm not sure how they can say it's finished.

And best of all, since I gave them the check, of course, that was me saying the job was done. So, stay away, it's just move expense for the same issues and a whole lot of B.S. lip service to get you to sign.

We love our basement that FBC finished for us. They completed our project on time and communication was great the entire way. Design - We received bids from a few different companies. FBC's designer was the only one to spend time with us and talk with us about what we wanted in the space before coming up with some plans. We worked through a few iterations of the design and ended up with something we loved.

Project Management - They laid out a plan for us from the start and stuck to the timeline. It went about as smooth as you can expect from a larger project. Of course there were unexpected items that cropped up from time to time, but the FBC team worked through it with us and we always came up with a resolution that worked for all parties. Construction - Every part of the construction was completed very well and the team took feedback from us along the way on anything we didn't understand or items we wanted changed. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking to finish their basement. We can't wait to use our new space for years to come.

We worked with FBC to remodel our basement. We used their services to get the basement finished through drywall, we were going to do the finish work ourselves. FBC worked with us to understand our needs and provide a design that fit the space perfectly. They kept us informed at every step and we always knew what was happening. The trade people they work with where top notch and gladly proposed changes to fit our needs exactly.

The place was always left clean and tidy. FBC was always clear about costs for changes and the build was to budget and finished earlier than projected. We are VERY pleased with the kitchen that Shannon designed for us. The first two pictures show "the before, " with others being "the after." After twenty years of a cramped space, we now have a much more spacious, functional kitchen! Nothing but compliments from family and friends. We are a very busy professional couple with kids so we needed a company that would do it all. FBC really took all the hassle out of remodelling our basement! Now we have a great basement with no disruption ot our life.

I wanted to share about our recent basement finish project. We worked with FBC Remodel out of Denver. It has been a dream from start to finish. They provide design services including 3D visualizations. They clean up daily way beyond what we anticipated. There is an app that has a project calendar that was basically perfect timed. They always showed up when they planned to and we never got any excuses for delays.

The project manager showed up daily to log the progress, take pictures, ensure everything was clean and check in with us. I just couldn't imagine a better experience. They work on everything from unfinished basements to bathroom remodels, home bar/theatre build-outs, and beyond. Tell them that the Gambee's sent you.

The design/construction approach by FBC produced an excellent finished product for us. We added a large recreation room for pool, TV and games along with a bedroom and bathroom. Ceiling soffits, arched entries and angled walls created a unique and inviting space. The project team and trade partners did fine work and we are very happy with our new basement.

All work was completed on schedule and within budget. The best part was having all construction access through the basement window. Our only advice is to carefully review all design details to assure that everything you want is clearly specified in the drawings. Then be part of the team by doing quality control as the project moves along.

We used FBC to finish our basement and are in love with the results! From the very beginning of the design process to the final touches at completion, FBC was patient, professional, and creative. We created a space we can host easily in, as well as, a place for the kids to play wild. The project was delivered on budget and on scheduled as promised, even when surprises occurred as they do with any project. We had our entire first floor (1100 sq ft) remodeled. We removed 2 walls, redesigned the layout to include a walk in pantry, tile floors, rounded drywall corners, lots of kitchen cabinets with a granite countertop, upgraded our fireplace, replaced the sliding patio door with french doors and upgraded appliances. Finish Basement Company did all of this in just 3 months.

Their design team listened to us and designed us a kitchen of our dreams. They pay attention to the details to make a quality job of the process. Then their tradesmen came in to make the design a reality. We just love the finished product and would highly recommend FBC to anyone looking to remodel.

Our experience with FBC was fantastic! The job was completed three days early and Jessica (designer) and Olivier (project manager) were wonderful to work with. Olivier was relaxed, open to changes and less expensive options. He even did multiple walk throughs before the final touch ups to make sure we didn't miss anything. Thanks so much Olivier! Was it more expensive than some other companies? Probably. However. it was definitely worth it if you want the job completed on time and done well.

The trades were professional, arrived on schedule and cleaned up daily. We also received project updates with photos on their website and via email every day. It would have taken months longer another way. We purchased some items ourselves at lower costs and they were fine with that. Would definitely use them again! Thanks guys!

FBC did an amazing job with our 1600 sq ft basement. The sales team listened to our vision, offered several options and helped us stay within budget. Our PM was fantastic! We received daily communication with minimal life interruption, realistic expectations and partnered with us to ensure every aspect was covered. They even finished early! We had met with 2 other contractors and are so happy about our choice!

They accommodated our quirky requests for a brewery room, rerouting our laundry dryer vent, closeting our water piping for access and exterior window well changes. Best choice ever!

We recently completed a basement remodel project with Finished Basement Company in Denver and couldn't be happier with the experience. The design team led by Cheri was spectacular, taking our raw ideas and turning them into a beautifully finished basement. We began with a 2000 square foot totally unfinished garden-level basement and a dream of what it could become.

And less than 8 weeks later we were living in a gorgeous, fully-finished basement that was more beautiful than we could have imagined. The original unfinished basement was a completely unenclosed space with exposed beams, rafters and insulation. The finished project is a set of beautiful spaces including a 2nd master suite, a full bath, a 2nd kitchen, a large family-entertainment room, a home office and a huge storage closet.

Virtually every step of the process was meticulously planned, designed and executed. Our construction manager, Ted, was a delight to work with and was incredibly flexible in meeting our needs and in supervising every aspect of the project. Even when an unexpected snag occurred (as always happens in these types of projects) Ted was all over it, ensuring that the project could move forward as expeditiously as possible.

We couldn't recommend someone more highly. The subcontractors that were used on this project were also a pleasure to deal with. The electrical crew was particularly good. They were extremely professional and very friendly. When we decided to make some minor changes (e.g., inserting dimmers where they hadn't been pre-planned) they took of this in a matter of moments with no questions asked.

It was truly a great experience! We have remodeled many homes in our 44-year marriage. But this was by far the easiest and likely the nicest project we have ever done. FBC made it all happen and we couldn't recommend them any more highly.

We can't say enough about the design team at FBC. We had multiple companies bid on our project and everyone else came back with the same basic design (a good but not spectacular layout). But FBC looked at the space from a completely different angle and in the process was able to create everything on our wishlist including an extra room. The design was elegant and functional and our family now benefits from it every day.

A very good experience, from start through design and build. Thorough pre-design interview and face-to-face meetings with the designer led to a very thoughtful, clever, even surpsing design for our basement, resulting in something that looks like it was built with the original home 20+ years ago. The trades were above expectations, especially framing, plumbing and electrical - all worked with me to ensure we were getting what we wanted, and were time-efficient and professional.

Project manager was responsive to change requests, and kept the project on and even ahead of schedule. Basement projects of this size are messy and occasionally disruptive and noisy, but my expectations were well managed. I can highly recommend FBC.

In response to your statement regarding my previous review.you knew that I was the homeowner because I was present for the first meetings. Nobody said you didn't finish on time. We literally had to argue to get your company to come out and fix the shower pan that you did not install correctly. The experience was horrible.

Do not be deceived. This place will sadly rip you off. All I ask is please get multiple quotes else where prior to going with this company. That was my mistake, unfortunately.
