Jason started working in new construction drilling holes, nail plates, sweeping floors, and insulating pipes out of high school. Following that he took up commercial plumbing where he achieved my journeyman license. He worked for several well know plumbing companies in the Seattle Tacoma area before deciding to start his own company, Hunts Plumbing and Mechanical.

I was having issues with my 30-year old furnace and called Hunt's to do a service. The person on the phone let me know about their service club, which was a great deal, so I gladly signed up. When the repair person came out, he was respectful, clearly demonstrated what the issue was when he found it, even helping me find the crack he'd found myself.
His name was Casey, and since my furnace was unsafe to use, he fast-tracked getting a crew out to go over my options and install a new system. The next day, Joe came to go over my options. I expected a pushy, less knowledgeable salesperson, but he was kind, patient, and knew every technical detail of both the systems I was considering and the financing options I needed.
I felt very confident in the choices I made because Joe gave me plenty of time and thorough information. Hunt's made sure to have a crew out to install our new HVAC system promptly the next morning. They were working both inside and outside the house all day and into the evening. At all times Cecil, Bryan, and Ed were professional, respectful to both me and my kids, and focused on doing a high-quality job.
They asked me for my preferences on where I would like new pipes to go, and did a beautiful job of meeting my main request of having everything neatly parallel. They packed out everything they brought in as well as the trash of the old furnace and pipes. I highly recommend this company. Every employee I have interacted with has been intelligent, knowledgeable, kind, patient, and skilled.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. We recently used this company to install a mini split system in our house. The entire installation process was a pain. On the day of installation, they told me that one of the heads could not be installed at a location that we had agreed on unless I was willing to pay for for the labor. This is AFTER they cut into the drywall.
On top of that, they mistakenly installed a less expensive unit in one of the rooms and did not let me know until I raised a question. Their reason was "the warehouse made a mistake". We have a total of 7 wall mounted Daikin units. It's only been a few months but two of the seven units have been making rattling noises even when they are turned off.
I called several times to have it fixed and it is still an issue for us. This has been a very frustrating experience. I wish I had done more research before committing to this company. The entire system cost us 35k and we are NOT HAPPY with the result.

I have used Hunts Services for multiple plumbing jobs and HVAC updates. I am impressed by their customer service from the first minute.answering calls quickly and scheduling services ASAP. I am also very appreciative of their reminders and check ins for appointments. They are extremely reliable and very fair. Within the last 2 weeks we have had HVAC installed (heat pump, furnace, air), vents cleaned and water heater installed. I am convinced we have chosen the very best company. From Brian and his crew to John and Caleb and Justin and his coworker we have been entirely satisfied with the quality of service and materials we have received. We will recommend Hunts to everyone. My wax gasket was shot. I had another toilet that I had been waiting to install which we used instead. The technician was very nice, professional. Neat and tidy. I have absolutely no complaints. He saw that we had a magnet with a $50 coupon on the microwave, I didn't know it was there. He adjusted the bill. The bill seemed high to me. I don't know as I did not call around to check other prices since my husband had used them before. Since I didn't check I can't complain.

Very quick to respond. Friendly office. Got the job done quick. $730 to replace a hose bib, is ridiculous however. When the plumber told me the problem, I debated doing it myself, and he gave me BS about how complicated it was, so I let him do it. just replaced the hose bib. Must have been $600 for 1 hour of labor.

I can not say enough good things about Hunt's Services! After the last "atmospheric river" of storms hit Seattle, the crawl space of our home flooded. The sump pump that was installed long before we owned the home failed. I called Hunt's Services on a Sunday, they had someone out on Monday, and a new basin and pump were installed by Tues. The price was very fair (the crawl space is tight and an adequate pump basin needed to be dug).
The technician, Austin, was phenomenal. He explained the situation and options, provided an accurate time estimate, and got the job done. I can honestly say this is the best experience I've had with any home repair service since I've lived in western WA. I highly recommend Hunt's Services!

All I needed them to do was give me an itemized invoice after the work they did for me, so that my home warranty will refund me some of the bill. They literally refuse. They will not call me back, and every time I call them, the person I need to talk to is never there. They keep sending me the wrong invoice and then don't respond when I tell them it's for the wrong appointment.
I am so done, and I will NEVER recommend this horrible company to anyone. Go somewhere else, because if anything goes wrong here with the work that's done, you'll never get any response.

Heater quit in the morning and called to have it looked at. Couldn't get to it till the morning. No worries there, could handle the cold with a couple of space heaters for one day. Came out the next day and the guy that showed up couldn't get under the crawl space so they had to call another. He showed up and performed the diagnostic and found a bad control panel. Told me it would be $1,400 plus the $150 for the call!
I found a control panel on line for $385. $1,100 for installation? You got to be kidding me. He then said my unit was old and said I could get a new one for around $3,600. I said OK, send out a sales guy and I'll take a look. No sales people until three days later. I still don't have heat and it is getting down to 32 F at night. Thanks a lot Hunt's Services. I have been with them for over five years letting them service my equipment. That ends here! Don't waste your time with this company.

I have had an incredibly positive experience working with Hunt's Services, so far for electrical and furnace issues. I purchased an older home that had known issues to address. Their estimates were slightly higher than other contractors, but they were able to fit me in a LOT quicker than others, which I was happy to pay for. Then, while doing the initial work (replacing panel, installing can lights, and GFI outlets), a number of issues/challenges came up. Marc and his apprentice handled everything smoothly and truly went above and beyond (they even fixed my garage door, which the garage door company didn't seem to think was their responsibility to fix).
Just as the electrical work was getting wrapped up, I had furnace issues. Same day, Dwayne showed up to deal with the furnace and install a new thermostat. I also appreciate the folks in the office who have helped me, and in incredibly calm and friendly ways, made things happen. Maddie, Nikki, and Sabrina are on it and great with follow-up. Thank you all!

Our furnace went our in the middle of the snow storm and it was 30 degree's outside. Dwayne showed up within a few hours, identified the problem and had our furnace up and running within an hour. We were expecting to be totally gauged on the bill. But it was reasonable. Dwayne was professional and courteous! Will definitely call them again!

Dakota and John were the gentlemen who repaired my leaking kitchen sink today. I've used Hunts Services previously and will call on them again if needed. The workmen were professional, courteous and friendly and completed the job in a timely manner. Was a little more expensive than I thought it would be but well worth the money.

I have used Hunts for several services and while their prices are really inflated the representatives were nice; however, going forward, Hunt's has lost me as a customer. I scheduled to have my dryer vent cleaned and was notified on the day of the appointment that they did not have a technician available and would need to reschedule. Given the current labor pool in Q2 of 2021, I understood.
I did reschedule and I also requested that I be discounted for the inconvenience. The representative agreed and provided me a $35.00 credit. The starting cost for the dryer vent was $149.00 but could be more if the technician found difficulty getting to the vent. In my case my laundry room is located on the first floor, so I didn't anticipate added charges but did note the Hunt's tends to inflate cost after a given assessment, so I knew it would be more than $149.00.
Case in point, I paid $700 for a garbage disposal replacement. We rescheduled my cleaning for another day. I received a text message confirming the appointment. The morning of the appointment I received a text message and a phone call at 8:08. I had stepped away to let my dog out and didn't have my phone with me. Upon retuning into the house I saw that I had missed a text message and a phone call, so at 8:28 I texted back to confirm my availability.
When I read the text message it stated that I must get back to them within 10 minutes. So I called to make sure that they had received my text response. I was placed on hold for about 5 minutes. When I was finally connected to a representative, I was told that I would need to reschedule because I had not responded within the 10 minute window, which is pretty ridiculous.
I stated that I had not responded within 10 minutes because I did not have access to my phone but that I was responding now. I also shared that I had previously responded to the confirmation text the day before and that the appointment was set. The representative said you missed the 10 minute window and would need to reschedule and that was all she could offer.
Bear in mind, I had been a customer of Hunt's for at least 2 years and had hoped that they would take that into consideration. I was infuriated at the fact that I was being penalized for a frivolous policy that when Hunt's calls, you must respond in 10 minutes or else they arbitrarily reschedule you. Is their business so good now that they feel they no longer need to service the customer?
How is it that Hunt's expectations for the customer is higher than their own? Their service reps are always late and the last one that serviced my home was 2 hours late based on the scheduled appointment. They have lost a customer and I would recommend that if you're going to pay what they charge you can definitely find better service elsewhere.

I called Hunts to get a second opinion after the first electrician I called couldn't diagnose the problem. They showed up and found the issue with my electrical outlets that had been plaguing me for a week. The two techs who came were very friendly and professional. My furnace is old and coming into winter I needed a maintenance service so called Hunt's. They came out quick and did an inspection where I was told that the heat exchanger had a 'large hole' and it was unsafe to use. The tech showed me a picture (attached) and I was confused because the opening looks like it's supposed to be there.
I asked if he was meaning the hairline horizontal fissures in the round opening? No. He meant that hole wasn't supposed to be there. I said thanks, paid them $175, and then called for a second opinion. The sales person from Hunts tried to pressure pitch me a $5k or $7500 new furnace. Immediately started offering 50% discounts if I took installation the next day, which I didn't. Hunts is clearly a company with people on straight commission, or at least that's how they behave.
Which is a bad deal for homeowners and for that I'd stay away. This almost was a $5000 mistake for this first time homeowner. The second opinion confirmed for me (glendale heating) that there's nothing catastrophic about my furnace but it does simply need cleaning. And I'm missing a couple of screws now from the last guy. He had me take a carbon monoxide hand monitor to every vent in the house to check, and nothing was present. I'm now having my furnace maintemanced, (another $225), and will be calling Glendale next year for a new furnace.

I am extremely frustrated with the quality of work, the customer service following their mistakes, and I feel taken advantage of after trusting them to do quality work within state and city codes I was not familiar with. For anyone considering hiring Hunt's Services, I would strongly suggest against it, and if you do work with them, be sure to watch them closely and do your research on the codes that apply to the work they will be doing as they cannot be trusted to abide by them.
We trusted Hunt's Services to replace our electrical panel, which was located in a small closet in our bedroom. We originally discussed moving the panel, as its location was only permissible due to its age (it had been installed before the code was updated). I was working from home at the time, I let the workers in, and the replacement panel was put into the same location in the closet.
When I inquired, they said it was fine at the time. A year later when considering a remodel, I checked the codes myself and found that the panel is against Washington state code. I've reached out multiple times since July, and been told the worker who installed the panel was no longer with them, and they would address it. As of this point in time, I have not received compensation for the work they have done that is against code, which I needed to pay to be fixed.
If they reach out and refund me, I will update my review. Additionally, we had a very expensive sewer liner installed with them, and when we received a free scope from another company, they notified us the liner was coming up. We sent the liner video to Hunt's Services, only for them to say it was fine. We have now had two expensive jobs by this company, with very low quality of work and a failure to meet state standards.
I cannot caution enough against using Hunt's Services. In my experience, there is a high likelihood you will not be happy with the work, and they will not do anything to rectify it.

I used Hunts in 2016 and attempted to use it again in 2021. I will start with 2021, as it is most recent. We wanted a new kitchen faucet installed. They were about a week out on jobs, so we scheduled and waited. Day of the job, I waited all day long before receiving a call at 3:30 that a technician had a family emergency and they were not going to be able to get to me.
They requested to reschedule 3 days later and offered $35 off. I accepted and was thanked for being so understanding. Today, again I waited all day. at 11:30, I received a call stating that they were running behind but would definitely be there today. Back in 2016, we called for help to repair a leaking shower head. While attempting to fix ourselves we broke our main water shut off valve. Hunts showed quickly for us that time, just with a really high price and an injury to myself. They removed and installed a new shut off valve, which was located in my kitchen pantry and then headed upstairs to work on the shower.
While upstairs, the fitting on the new shut off valve burst and water was spraying everywhere. I jumped up to try to contain the mess and slipped and fell really hard on the tile in my kitchen. I hit my tail bone really hard and busted open my elbow in the fall. The technician and apprentice ran downstairs to fix the problem and the whole time was more concerned about us leaving a bad review rather than seeing if I was OK or showing any concern for me at all.
I tried to nurse my wounded pride and pretend it wasn't that bad. at the time I was more embarrassed and felt bad for them, but today I am really angry and will make sure my review is shared here and throughout my community.
They requested to reschedule 3 days later and offered $35 off. I accepted and was thanked for being so understanding. Today, again I waited all day. at 11:30, I received a call stating that they were running behind but would definitely be there today. Fast service. Noticed last night that our 14 year old water heater was leaking on the floor. Not a good sign for sure. Used “Best Pick Reports “ for S King County and called Hunts. Got a great service guy named Dakotah here within 3 hrs of calling. He showed us possible solutions and now we are back in the hot water so to speak. He was very knowledgeable and super friendly and explained everything. 5 stars to him and Hunts

I probably should have read the reviews before scheduling with this company. I needed my dryer vent cleaned, so on 6/22/21, I got on their site to book my appointment. Seemed easy enough, and I was thrilled that the next available appointment was the next day. I was only given morning or afternoon, no specific time. I took the day off, and when I didn't hear anything around 1pm, I called. Michelle in the office put me on hold only to come back on the line to tell me the automatic scheduling system did not schedule me.
She truly showed no care or concern, almost like this happens frequently. She told me they're very busy & take emergency calls first. I asked when I could get rescheduled and she was very wishy-washy. Friday was open, but then she said she could no guarantee the appointment because an emergency might come up. Next week might work better for them, but then she went back to Friday. Time? Oh, she could not commit to that either. Ok, fine, put me on the schedule for Friday.
The best was, I was leaving my house Wednesday around 4pm and there was one of their trucks around the block from me. Whatever. Well, today is Friday & took the day off because I was given no specific time or even time window. So, here I am drinking my coffee, and I get a text "Good morning Katy, this is Maxie with Hunt's Services. We have you scheduled for a dryer vent cleaning.
Our technician is unavailable today and we are having to reschedule all of his appointments for today to next week. We can offer you a $35 rescheduling credit due to having to move your appointment. Please give us a call at 253-533-7500 or text here, Thank you!". Really? I called & got Michelle again. First she said my appointment was cancelled due to emergency calls.
I pointed out that the text said the tech was unavailable & all his appointments were cancelled. Again, wishy-washy, and slightly apologetic now. Second day off work, still dirty dryer vent. Truck #38 on meridian and 160th 5:15pm turned into my lane when making a left turn from 160th to Meridian. I beeped and he didn't give a damn and if I didn't get on the sidewalk, he would've hit me! If their drivers give this little care about safety while driving, it make some wonder how they do their actual job.

Terrible experience. Cost $550 to replace a cartridge- 1 hour of work. Was originally going to do more expansive work that would cost $1200 and then we asked if there was another solution simply for a leaky shower faucet.- that is when the cartridge was replaced. Completed the work, apprentice on the way out stated "It must be nice to be rich"- something along those lines and left. A few weeks later it starts leaking again (this was in the fall). Husband did the same work, bought another cartridge that cost $50 and now its working well.

To make a long story short, Hunt’s Plumbing responded to my plumbing emergency within 30 minutes. Together we found the source of the problem (broken pipe inside a wall) and the technician carefully exposed the area and completed repairs quickly. Careful, courteous and professional and also reasonably priced.

The new best picks report Tacoma/Pierce county came in the mail and this company is rated #1 and I agree fantastic people and they solved our tankless water heater situation that the company who installed it said sorry to my complaint, Hunts came out it’s not a brand of tank they use but he researched and it was a simple “adjustment” and bam I had hot water instantly !!! Put them on your list for any of the services they do!

Description of work: Repair or replace a section of kitchen sink drain and vent pipe; also replace supply valves for kitchen sink and dishwasher. The plumbing part of the project went fine, if a little on the expensive side. The new installation appears to be functional and free of leaks. Major problem: A few days after they finished, I moved a floor mat in my kitchen and discovered a 3/16 hole drilled through the floor! (It seems that when drilling a pilot hole from the basement for the new drain pipe, they had misjudged the location of the cabinet, and drilled through the floor instead.) While on-site, they never mentioned their mistake to me. Instead, they just covered it up by moving the floor mat back into place (with some sawdust still around it).
Minor problem: They also failed to clean up scraps of pipe and hole-saw cuttings, both on the ground outside the house and on the roof. The company did not respond to my emailed report of these issues, in which I included a photo of the hole in the floor. I would have expected them to at least offer to reimburse me for the cost to repair the damage.

Since I was new to understanding sump pumps I was a bit startled with the sump pump alarm that kept going off. So, I called Hunt’s to get an inspection and see if anything needed repairs. Andrew came over and he was sweet as pie! Oh my goodness! He went through the sump pumps (we discovered I had two going!), educated me on how they work, what quality in sump pumps to look for and showed me past sump pump jobs he did to help me visualize how they worked.
This was a huge help to me and I felt much more at ease having been armed with information. It turned out the sump pumps were fine so the cost was low. I really appreciated Andrew. He was warm, friendly and attentive to my concerns. I will definitely use Hunt’s in the future and hope I see Andrew again (but maybe not due to something devastatingly wrong with the house!).

We found out we had a water leak this morning and Hunt's was here by 1:00 to fix it! In that time frame we also got a quote from Roto Rooter. Not only were they super fast to arrive and fix the Ieak, the tech was able to resolve the problem for literally $2000 less than Roto Rooter! In addition, it's nice that they send an actual technician out, rather than an estimator who knows very little (the other company). The technician was also very friendly and knowledgeable. Great experience in a not so great situation!

I had the privilege of almost being taken advantage of by these clowns. I needed a gas line(plastic) repaired after punching a hole in it by accident. The guy shows up and says he has never worked on plastic gas line before. He calls the office and comes back with a quote for $1400. WTF I laughed and told him I will fix it myself and went to Home Depot and purchased the exact same part to repair it.
I fixed it in less than 10 minutes. I am an Electrician and I know what a good screwing looks like. I even called them back to thank them for the education on the FLEECING OF AMERICA. We discovered mold and wet spots on our carpet after moving some heavy furniture for spring cleaning. We moved the washing machine on the other side of the wall and discovered mold and soft spots but no evidence of an actual leak. Hunts Plumbing was able to send a crew out the day after we called them. Hunts let me know that a crew would be out within 30-45 minutes and Corey and Scott were right on time.
They were able able to find the leak very quickly. They offered us a couple different options for getting the work done. They were able to give us an estimate and complete the repairs the same day. They worked with our adjuster and offered suggestions for companies that do mitigation and repairs. We are very happy with the services we have received.

They came to install a new toilet and we asked if they could take a look at the one we have that had not been flushing all the way for years. Two other plumbers had looked at it and advised we replace it. Jesse worked so hard at it, scraping out the mineral buildup in the water holes, using one tool after another and - amazingly - he fixed it!! We are so grateful because to replace it in the same bisque colored toilet would have cost over $1200 - just for the toilet.

My mom's heat pump stopped working this afternoon and it is supposed to be in the 90's this weekend. We didn't have high hopes of getting it serviced because it's Friday afternoon but she called Hunt's services and Tony Roberts was here early evening. He explained upfront the cost for the service call and said he'd tell us how much any repair would be before he did it.
He found the problem and explained a couple things that would help lengthen the life of the heat pump, he had the part he needed on the truck and had it installed in a very timely manner. He had great customer service skills and was very clear explaining what he did or was doing and the cost of things. Great communication skills, excellent customer service, neat and tidy worker and never forgot to put on his shoe covers.We are very happy with Tony Roberts and Hunt's Services and call them if needed again and recommend them to everyone we know.

Very easy to work with. They were able to put us on a wait list to check out our ac issue so we didn't have to drop another $80 on a service fee. Our problem was not fixable and they had the best bid for a new system. It was all set and good to go in just a couple weeks, and they had good financing options. Will keep them in mind for any future issues.
