If you are looking for an HVAC company to service your rental properties and come out a week before Christmas to perform a maintenance contract checkup only to have them turn the gas off and leave claiming a service hazard with little to no investigation. We have 3 different properties with current maintenance agreements with you. We will not be renewing them.

SSI replaced my attic HVAC and did a great job. I had a pretty old unit with poorly designed ductwork, and they took the time to rebuild all of it and complete the install in a reasonable amount of time. It was 94 degrees the day of the install, but they didn't complain too much about it. They just did their job, and my new HVAC system is working great. I have no real complaints, and will definitely go back to them for future maintenance/replacement.

SSI is my 'go-to' company for every plumbing related home service I have had. They have done a great job every time from installing a new hot water heater, a new toilet, and today a quick unclogging of the garbage disposal and a much more reasonable estimate for a new one in the future. I highly recommend them, especially Greg W. who has done all the work/installs in my home.

Elmer and Sammy (I think, I may have his name wrong) installed my a/c today. They did a great job, and stayed longer than expected to address a problem with my thermostat. They were professional and answered all of my questions and concerns. They are also dog friendly. My dogs give them each 4 paws up

We are so pleased with our service from SSI. The service tech Mike M. was very proficient as well as friendly and professional. He took care of our leaky pipe and replaced a shutoff valve quickly and efficiently and made sure we were happy with the job. Would definitely use SSI again! Service: Plumbing leak detection

Water heater was not working properly, so i called this company because they were listed on the manufacturer's website. They were quick in making the reservation and dispatched someone the same day. I was told they are licensed with manufacturer and carry all parts and able to resolve the issue same day. So now the fun begins - the contractor shows up, and I take him down to the water heater.
I had the valve turned off because the pilot kept on going off. He turned on the valve and tried to ignite. He kept on pushing the ignition button and after a few seconds came to conclusion that he's unable to diagnose because the valve status light is not coming on. I noticed that he wasn't following the directions to ignite and simply said it's not working. Based on the year and model of water heater, recommended replacing the entire unit and gave me a quote of roughly $3500 for a 75 gal heater.
While he was preparing the quote, I tried to ignite and it worked - the very first time because I followed the instructions by holding the on button for 60 seconds. Anyways, once it was on, he simple looked at the status light and then read the diagnosis labels on the heater and said that problem is with the valve and he doesn't have it in stock. He then stepped out of the house to make a few calls, comes back and said they'll need to order part from manufacturer and manufacturer will take 5 days to process and shipping will take another 5 days. Valve replacement would cost me $700 and insisted that I should replace the entire unit and he could get it in the same day.
Soon after he left, they emailed me an invoice for this pathetic service along with order purchase documents. After the contractor left, I called the manufacturer myself and they said they can have the part shipped to me overnight. It costed me $200 for the part and I found a plumber to replace the valve for $150. So - in short what a rip off this company is. STAY AWAY! They simply wanted to take advantage of the situation because it's winter and water heater is not working with kids around the house. I'm glad I didn't use them.

These guys have been tops! I signed up for a 6-month service contract after their first visit for only a +$20 up charge. Both techs were top notched and helped me sort out operating challenges with both my 10-yr old furnace & AC compressor, all within the contract fee, which will extend their useful life and delay costly replacement. Back office support re scheduling and follow up are too-notch, too. Highly recommend!

Tom was here to do my annual plumbing inspection and did a great job. He was patient with me (poor guy suffered through a crazy working from home day for me) and worked primarily with my daughter. Anyway at the end of it all he gave me some recommendations on things I need to do soon and what can wait (when my water heater needs replacing. He also told me that my whole house water pressure was low and cranked it up to a recommended level. He's been here before rondo some work outside so I was glad they sent him out again. SSI has a winner here in both an employee and a satisfied customer!

I live in a condo and my aging 14 year-old HVAC and water heater units were on their last gasping breath. I had placed several service calls for both systems through my home warranty company, but they refused to replace them. (Lesson learned: Don't waste your money on a home warranty company!) My warranty company quoted me a "discounted" price of $13,000 to replace my A/C and heat unit (just the A/C and heat, not the water heater).
A friend suggested I get a second opinion from SSI. I am so glad I did! SSI could not have been more helpful and professional! They quoted me under $10,000 to replace the A/C, heat, AND 75 gallon water heater. As if I weren't already sold, they also offered free financing (which I quickly took advantage of). When SSI came to install the units in May (during the COVID19 quarantine), they were professional and informative (and dog friendly).
I am extremely pleased with the technicians who installed my units and with customer service (Sydney is absolutely wonderful to deal with). SSI has my 5-star endorsement and my future business.

UPDATE At 1:00 the technician called me. He explained that though it said "furnace" it did include the entire unit and that even though it said "cash" financing was an option. He is also going to email me with ways to lower the cost of it. __________________________________________________________ On January 17, 2020 I woke up to no air coming out of the vents at all.
I called and within a couple of hours had a serviceman come. He explained that the blower capacitor burned out and did a patch job but couldn't say how long that would last "Perhaps a few days before it goes again." He said that he could perhaps install something that would "fit that small hole in the wall." I was in a hurry to get to the office and didn't then know what he'd send as options so I said "sure." He sent me two prices for two furnaces (a bit of $6,000 and the other one was a bit over $7,000 and it said "cash").
I don't have that much disposable cash laying around so I sent a reply back that they looked reasonable but that's a bit too much for me and asked if there was a cheaper option. He never e-mailed me back. Yesterday before he left, I mentioned that the temp had fallen another degree (I have a digital thermostat). He said that it just takes time to warm up (?).
I came home and it was still 56 and set for 60. This morning I woke to the trailer being 50 degrees (set for 60). I called the emergency number at around 5:30 and left a message. I also emailed them. It is now 10:35 and I've not been contacted. Surely they're not ignoring me because I wouldn't buy a furnace? Also, I have a heat pump.
Why give me a price for a furnace and not mentioned the out door unit (I thought they were a set)? I didn't say anything at the time because, again, I was in a hurry and because I didn't know what options he'd give.

Update 12/19/19--Unit failed after under 10 years. New installer found finger-tight GAS fittings in the furnace. Was it the idiots at Trane? Who knows. The SSI installer should have found it. Lucky we're not dead. Stay far, far away from SSI. They're not only incompetent but, it turns out, they're dangerous. Look elsewhere. They installed a new HVAC system for me several years ago which they have never been able to get working right--either too hot or too cold, year round.
Right now I'm sweltering--yet again--because after a $800+ repair job, the AC is blowing lukewarm air. Ignore their "service" contracts and go to a local HVAC company that actually provides what they charge you for.

Service Specialties, Inc and Fred Payne are my heroes. They are the third company we tried to fix an HVAC problem and this time the problem was fixed. Fred arrived at the scene, listened to the problem, started his investigation and within 15 minutes identified and fixed the problem. No more screaming AC system and no more high humidity. We took out a service plan before Fred left because we want to insure Service Specialties is on speed dial in the future. GREAT JOB. SUPERIOR SERVICE. SUPERIOR KNOWLEDGE. WELL DONE! Thanks so much - PAT and Phil

I got a great price from sales person that almost no one could match the price and because I requested a inspection from them that Loudoun county then they told me all of a sudden don't feel comfortable working with me per the sale manager the only two thing I can think of 1. they don't work up to code or B. they can't do it for the proposal price they gave me either way very shady business practice.
I talked to sale manager on Friday about the increased price for the variable speed handler instead of the single speed which they jacked up the price by almost $1,500.00 to cover the lost money and since I decided to stick with the single speed handler they said they feeluncomfortable to work with me last weekend while they were setting up at the expo center but on Monday when I asked them to do the measurement and I would sign the contract now they said both party should feel comfortable so I told them I'm comfortable.
These are my honest facts and I don't need to lie. If you decide to go with them be careful. I sent multiple emails and text trying to resolve any issues they had with me and they went unanswered. I think the owner should be aware how his business is being ran. If the owner wants to see my proposal just reach out to me please.

Called yesterday for their $99 spigot replacement special. Tech was here today and troubled shooted the pipe and was able to cut, pull replace and reconnect for $99 where others companies wanted $300 - 500 and wanted to punch holes in the ceiling. Done in less than 30 minutes. Will be providing a price for gas line so we can convert the cook top to gas. I'm sure I will have them back soon for the new job.

SSI Inc is my go-to, recommended HVAC company. I've used them for many years now for my units and their technicians are always utmost professional, thorough, and very knowledgeable. I recently enrolled in their maintenance plan to get routine service checks twice a year for $167 and I am sure it will be money well spent. During my recent experience, the technician, Clint, seemed especially attentive and was an all-around good guy-very friendly, personable as well as great customer service! Compared to when I was stuck using only the really bad HVAC companies within my home warranty plan, I feel I am so much better off now and relieved I can use SSI now instead.

Did not have the best experience with this company. I called in for help on fixing my ac unit and barely even got that done! With their lack of customer service skills I am glad I went with another company. At least the manager of the company was nice enough to give me a call to help sort out my issues so there is still hope I will give this company a try well into the future.

Total morons. I've had several jobs done by them in the past by a very competent guy who sadly left about a year ago. They have been pestering me via phone to come and do an inspection for a couple of months. I finally scheduled them to come and give me an estimate for a new water heater. It has been on my calendar for over a week. After waiting an hour beyond the window, I finally called and left a message.
They did not call back. I called again only to find that 1) the estimator was sick and 2) they had scheduled it on the wrong day so 3) They did not call me. Talk about incompetence. If they can't even get an ESTIMATE right, what makes anyone think they can get a repair right? Never again.

Our smaller HVAC unit died over the spring so we called the people who installed our larger unit last year and they wanted (what we thought) was an outrageous price so we shopped around and found SSI. Tim was fantastic to deal with and in less than a weeks time we had a new HVAC unit at a fantastic price. The installation took most of the day but the installers were knowledgeable and courteous and did an amazing job. SSI will be my new go-to people fort anything heating and AC related from now on.you guys are awesome!

Clint Boyd, residential Service Technician, did our seasonal Hvac inspection today. As always, he provided excellent service because he knows his business (related to military service), knows the systems of our 27-year old home in Reston, VA, and clearly explains his recommendations. Clint is personable and engaging, and uses problem solving language (not sales talk) which builds trust with him and with SSI. Have been a customer of SSI for those 27 years and recommend them highly.

Jake and Luis showed up to my property on time, was immediately greeted by Jake as he introduced himself and what the purpose of his visit was. Both Jake and Luis are very professional, knowledgeable and took care of this job as if they were installing in their own home. I was introduced to this business by another employee, Clint, and am more than satisfied with their business, would definitely use them again in the future. Thank you!

I was very pleased with the response of Service Specialties to repair the controls for a heat pump at my rental property. They sent a very competent technician, Fred Bayne, who did the job admirably. He was patient, very accommodating, and really went the second mile to make the repair. I'm very grateful because the price was reasonable and above all because the repair got done ahead of very cold weather expected in the next few days. I will call on Service Specialties for all my future HVAC needs and will ask for Mr. Bayne specifically.

On one of the hottest day of the year (in many years), my air conditioner died. In spite of the fact that it happened early on a Sunday morning, Service Specialties Inc. had a tech at my home by 9am. The tech, Mr. Clint Boyd, was exceptionally professional and courteous from the start. He quickly diagnosed the problem and came up with plan that suited my needs. Thank you very much for the outstanding support and service.
