Contracted for concrete patio demolition one week and re-pour the following week. Dealt with Garrett for estimates, quote and project updates. Prices were higher than expected, but quotes for similar companies were in the same range. The company was professional in project execution in all aspects. Crews arrived on scheduled times, they were efficient in their work, and work was completed within projected timelines.

Professional communications back and forth throughout, and timely responses to my questions were delivered. Patio looks very good, clean up was completed, and final pricing adhered to the quoted price. Can easily recommend Flat and Fancy based on this experience.

I would like to point out that this company changed ownership in March of 2019, many of the glowing online reviews are for work performed by the prior owner. I am a business owner and I understand pride in workmanship and customer service. We have used Flat and Fancy in the past under its original ownership for the same type of work. The original owner and his team performed the work wonderfully, unfortunately this current project by Garrett (the new owner) and his team is just not acceptable. Garrett's choice on how to handle the problems that we now have with our new patio from the new Flat and Fancy ownership is very disappointing, unprofessional, and surely not in line with a business owner that wants to make things right with his customer. Garrett presents you with a very one-sided contract prior to the start of his work.

If Garrett chooses to post a "Response from the Owner" to this negative review; I'm sure he will claim that his contract covers all the topics related to variations in concrete and that no job can be guaranteed to look or come out a certain way. In this case, we are not talking about small differences of opinion. These are big issues that he has tried to correct with some surface solutions.

See images below. This patio project is unacceptable to us as it cannot remain in place as it is now. The project will have to be redone. I do not recommend this company under its New Ownership.

BUYER BEWARE. This was a totally incompetent company. they walked in the wet concrete and left foot prints and did not smooth it out. So we have foot prints permanently in the finish. They tried to fix it after the fact and made a bigger mess making it dangerous to walk on. Portions of the outside concrete froze and they refused to fix or compensated for the lose of integrity of the concrete.

They are a very difficult company to work with and do not follow the sealant companies recommended use and it is so slick again a huge liability and danger. I do not trust this company. They also charged my card a month prior to the job being complete. They do not follow their own contract. I would never recommend them!

We used Flat and Fancy to add a side path and pad on the side of our home. They are very responsive and gave us a quick estimate. The work was completed efficiently and it looks great! Service: Paving

I wish I had taken a better "before" picture, but you can see our patio was a sad drab little thing. We went with Flat & Fancy for a patio upgrade! Not only is the concrete work beautiful and exceeding our expectations, but Garrett was a delight to work with. From the quote process to the clean-up process, the customer service was first-rate. Garrett is knowledgeable and helpful, the crew was timely and professional (and did such a kick-butt job all in one day, even through oppressive heat.) Very grateful for this company and will 100% use again for future projects.

This was the third time I have used Flat & Fancy for concrete work- the last in 2012 for having a patio poured. The work has held up beautifully on the last two jobs and still has no issues to date. In 2021, I decided to extend my existing patio and Flat & Fancy was my first call- and ultimately no reason to call anyone else. The product, work and cleanup are great.

If you are looking for quality work with a professional backing and at a reasonable price-look no further. They extended the patio they poured almost 9 years ago and it looks great. There are countless flatwork contractors in the area-and most won't stand behind their work- as the concrete crumbles and within a year or two starts to change grade from improper compaction and mix. Cheaper? Maybe. but next year you'll be glad you called Flat&Fancy if you plan to be in your home more than a year.

Shape and Aesthetically pleasing form is what you're in store for, by going with a contractor and business that only does one thing- We had some changes on the fly in this last project, and it wasn't an issue or stall in the job. Garrett's team works hard and they stick to their estimate. This is definitely a company I will call again when I need more flatwork. I am very pleased.

I had Flat & Fancy do a stamped concrete patio about 7-8 years ago, and it was definitely time to put on a fresh coat of sealer. The owner, Garrett, came out and gave me an estimate with options such as how I can save money. I thought that was two thumbs up. The sealer work done on 07/28/2020. Wow! The crew did a fantastic job. The crew's attention to detail was pleasure to see!

And the crew were very professional, courteous, and friendly. The stamped concrete patio that looked dull looks Brand New. Very Happy with Flat & Fancy's commitment to providing customer service. Garrett and his team are fantastic. We had a large patio poured in our backyard. To start Garrett was very professional in his initial visit. He worked with on timelines etc. His crew was also spectacular. Everyone was very nice and you could tell they genuinely cared about their quality of work. I have 2 kids that were very interested in the power equipment etc being used and they were great with them as well.

Even going so far as to help them put their handprints in the concrete. If you got a bid from a different company that is cheaper. (Like I did) I would still say reach out to Flat and Fancy, you really do get what you pay for sometimes. So happy we didn't go with the company that was dirt cheap with questionable reviews. Garrett was the first person we met when we asked for a quote. He's honest, straightforward, and you can tell he really cares about his company. Colette was great in managing our changing schedule. The job went as smoothly as it possibly could. Whenever you do demo work you run into surprises. In our case, it was extra tough concrete that took longer than estimated to remove.

The cement truck ran late (out of F&F's control), so that added to the time the job took as well. But it was done in two days. Our new front walk way and porch, the garage entry apron, and the refinished and glazed back patio all look terrific. The crew managed by Izaak and James was friendly, competent, and easy to work with. They even showed up the next day to lay down protective pads over the new concrete because snow was forecast. I highly recommend them.

I am totally impressed not only with the quality of work but also with the employees of Flat and Fancy Concrete. Working with Garret the owner has been as smooth and well-thought out as possible. My concrete steps are perfect. Workers even smoothed out the back side that no one will ever see! They even used a small tamping device to make sure my puppy's paw prints were perfect.

Having personally worked for a concrete company in the past that prided itself on the same metrics as Flat & Fancy, I can honestly say that Flat & Fancy is an admirable business that prides itself on customer service and craftsmanship.

Leading up to the project, Flat & Fancy kept me informed of possible weather-related delays and project related information. On the day of the project, Ray arrived promptly with his crew, briefed me on the project, then oversaw the operation. Ray and his crew are consummate professionals. Wow! When Flat & Fancy was asked to exercise their artistic skill they knocked it out of the park. The old orthogonal (90 degree structure) was transformed into a driveway with flair complemented with a serpentine walkway all enhanced with a 3D effect. using a dark gray border. Stunning!

... I just wanted to pass on to you guys a copy of a letter I sent Al Foster of "Flat & Fancy, Inc." They truly do as their business cards say: "Quality Concrete Work". My front porch fell about two inches this past August and cracked pretty badly.

And my driveway has been imparting quite a few "strange bounces" during father-son basketball games in the past few summers. "Flat & Fancy" came in, tore out the old stuff and in with the new! And I have to tell you, as thoroughly impressed as I was with the work they did, I was just as thoroughly disgusted with the poor job that had been done by the builders of the house, which became very evident as "Flat & Fancy" pulled up the original "stuff". Suffice it to say that the initial "slop and quick" concrete work was like a rickety old out-house compared to the "Fort Knox" "Flat & Fancy" did for me!!

This porch and driveway will be standing long after the house falls to dust!!

So, if the topic comes up, please let any of your listeners and emailers know that we've got a great concrete contracting firm in town! Don't worry; I'm not getting "finders fees" for any jobs I refer to them! I just like to let folks know when someone has really done a great job. We hear too much these days about sloppy work and bad home improvement contractor stories (got a couple myself). But now I've got a real success story, too!
