Matt is a Maryland resident and began in the business fabricating custom laminate countertops and cabinetry with his father out of a shop in Edgewater. In 1992, Matt and his father along with other family members started About Kitchens and More, Inc. at the current location on Hudson Street in Annapolis.

Clear and proactive communication from the initial call to schedule an estimate to project completion. We were never in the dark about their progress or when they would be there. Their sub-contracted electrician and plumber were also great. That's always where the risk is. Incredibly pleased with the experience. They have a lot of options for the budget conscious and for people looking to indulge. I would recommend them to my mother. And that says a lot.

We had a wonderful experience with About Kitchens and Baths. The process was well orchestrated. They stayed on schedule, started and finished on time and there was not a day that someone was not working on our kitchen. No short cuts were taken. It is evident they take pride in their work. Their work was professional, and they were very detail oriented.
The team assigned to our project was very personable, on time and accommodating to our requests, needs and desires. They were also respectful of our home space and cleaned up at the end of each day. We would not hesitate to recommend About Kitchens and Baths to anyone looking to remodel their kitchen and we would certainly work with them again.

We contracted with About Kitchens and Baths to remodel our Kitchen last year. We put it off as long as possible with the typical nightmare kitchen remodel stories of shoddy work, delays, poor communication and overage costs. The minute we walked into the showroom of About Kitchens and Baths, we knew we were dealing with top notch professionals. Dave helped us with our design plan and used computer layouts to show us what the new space would look like.
We weren't rushed with the plan or pushed into using available products that would have made the process easier. We felt in complete control of not only our budget but selections and they were open to minor changes even after the plan was signed. Once demolition began, the process went very smoothly. Even though there were a few unexpected surprises, which is typical during renovation, such as having to move a sprinkler head, we addressed the issues head on and the work continued without delay.
We even had another contractor installing stain and sand in place hardwood flooring throughout the entire first floor in the middle of the kitchen remodel. They coordinated work with that contractor and stayed on schedule. It was a very, dare I say, enjoyable experience. Our 1990's Kitchen turned out better than we even imagined - it is beautiful.
A good deal of credit goes to Zac for his skill and great attention to detail. He made sure everything onsite was perfect. Even after 6 months since completion, we love walking into our new kitchen! We would not hesitate to highly recommend About Kitchens and Baths. Thank you, Matt, Dave, Zac, Rachelle and everyone at About Kitchens and Baths.

All I can say is WOW! We used About Kitchens to remodel our kitchen and refinish to floors on our entire first floor. If you are looking for a company with excellent customer service, quality work and wonderful craftsman look no further. What ever the don't handle in house they have aligned themselves with top notch subcontractors. A major remodel can be a pain and stressful but not with About Kitchens.
They delivered our dream kitchen on time and on budget. When there was a hiccup (always some with major renovations) they handled it quickly and professionally. While our house was a construction site it never really felt like one. It was amazing to see the changes daily. We have had some bad experiences with contractors so if you want it done right the first time and stress free don't waste you time calling anyone else.

We were so happy with the work that About Kitchens did for our family. Not only were their prices very comparable with other companies but the value was immensely worth it. They all went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. From the beginning steps of designing our dream kitchen to picking out appliances and colors, the team went above and beyond to make the experience amazing. Additionally, they were flexible with our schedule and had the whole project done within one month which was perfect! We would highly recommend this company to anyone who wants their job done with professionalism, care, understanding, and step by step support.

We used About Kitchens and Baths when we updated our master bath 5 years ago. We were delighted with their work and how easy it was to work with them. So when we finally decided to redo our guest bath room we, of course, employed them. The entire company are incredibly responsive and easy to work with, in design and execution. And each worker/craftsman/painter employed could not have been more professional and took such pride in their work.
Every job has it's glitches, but About Kitchens and Baths does everything in their power to make it right. In fact, they will not sign off on the job until the customer is 100% satisfied. We would clearly recommend them.

This review is for a kitchen remodel we had done by About Kitchens and Baths, LLC, Annapolis Maryland. The project was scheduled for 4 weeks which was to start on Aug 16, 2021. While it started on time, the project took much longer than originally planned. The project which should have been completed on or about Sep 10, 2021, was actually not completed until Oct 12, 2021, which basically doubled the time scheduled for the project.
Much of the reason for this delay is that during the last few weeks many of the workers kept getting pulled off the job and we would often have partial crews or no crews working. I felt as though there was total disregard and disrespect for our house, property, appliances, and spaces. We spent countless hours cleaning the mess left behind by the workers and each time an issue was brought up to the Management or About Kitchen employees we were given the quick response, "we will address it", but things always seemed to get worse.
The notes and pics below will address some of the issues and show the disrespect and disregard for our home and property while About Kitchens and Bath employees were working in our home. - Employees were caught washing out used dirty paintbrushes inside our house bathroom sink. When the onsite boss was confronted with the issue, he simply stated, "that is normal, we do it all the time". - Two TV cables and another cable was cut by workers which resulted in us having to purchase new ones at a cost of over $200.00. - The garage, which was being used as a make-shift kitchen area during the kitchen remodel was filled with drywall dust due to the workers leaving the door open and blowing drywall dust into the garage instead of taking precautions and cleaning is as they worked. - The workers did not cover the air vents during the kitchen remodel which cause excessive drywall dust to go into the central AC unit. Thus, causing excessive ice buildup within the unit and could have destroyed the entire central ac unit had I not noticed and addressed the problem. - Outside window sills and screen were caked with drywall dust. - Trim on washing machine missing when washer and dryer re-installed. - Drywall dust from the kitchen area on the 1st floor appears to have been swept into a hole in the floor which went into the basement and damaged the hot water heater.
We were out of hot water for several days before BGE could get parts and repair for which we had to pay the repair bill. - Multiple dirty areas in the yard were left where workers cleaned tools and left debris. - A lack of attention to detail seems to be the norm as shown in pic 7.1 shows the chandelier not reinstalled properly and the "way off" plumb and level of the new light switch.
In the end, the kitchen looks nice, but it was HELL getting here. I can not recommend this company for kitchen renovations based on how our project went, how I feel we were disrespected, and the way our home and property was treated with zero actions by management each time we made them aware of problems and issues. About Kitchens and Bath did an outstanding job on our kitchen remodel from design to installation. It was a complete update of our house's original kitchen that included taking down a wall and expanding into the dining room. They provided a very thoughtful design (making use of every available space!) and worked with us through every step of installation to ensure we were happy with our kitchen. They were very courteous and professional and left the job site spotless at the end of each day. The project was completed on time. We love our new kitchen!

The About Kitchens team performed an entire deconstruction and remodel of my kitchen. From the first contact Matt and Dave were responsive to my questions and listened to my ideas. They suggested quality materials and were able to work around the couple of surprises that my older home provided during the process. Zak and Tim were great during the installation and made sure that everything was clean at the end of each day. I highly recommend the About Kitchens team.

Renovated 16 year old kitchen and installed/ refinished hardwood floors throughout main floor. AK staff were great - they were always professional and responsive, and worked to the promised schedule. Subs were generally good w/ a couple minor exceptions. Design work was excellent and integrated our ideas seamlessly. We're very happy with the result! AK came highly recommended, and we could clearly see why.

It was very collaborative as they were open to my ideas and offered creative solutions and recommendations. They treated my home with respect and the project was completed in a timely fashion. They recently remodeled my hall bathroom, it is now stunning! Matt (owner) is a pleasure to work with! Everyone I encountered was professional, knowledgeable, and kind. Great experience from start to finish. Dave helped me with the design and selection of materials. Drew and Todd did an amazing job with the tile. I will definitely be calling them again for my next project. Update: Hired AK for our master bath renovations, this project was a bit more involved with knocking out walls and building a new pocket door for starters. Matt and his crew rose to the challenge and we are again thrilled with the results!
