The day of the fire, our fire department recommended Whalen Restoration, and it was one of the best and most valuable recommendations ever. Craftsmanship is first-rate (especially thanks to Jose, a master carpenter and beyond, who has a smart solution for every problem). Project management is knowledgeable and totally professional. John may be retiring this year, but Bill takes great pride in his company's work and will make sure that anyone who works for him measures up to his high standards.

Bill and his staff are trustworthy, dedicated to their work, and also really nice people. Whalen's pricing is fair, and Bill was mindful of saving costs without sacrificing quality. Initially hired for the fire remediation, once we saw the quality of Whalen's work, we expanded the job by asking them to trouble shoot pre-existing problems and take on renovation work we had been considering.

When finished, we felt like we moved into a brand new, well-built home. OK. So it everything didn't go smoothly. Covid was a huge factor. But most of the time when we were frustrated by delays, it was for a reason beyond Bill's control. Typically the most troublesome part of any construction job is at the end. What we found most exceptional is that even though Bill had moved on to bigger jobs, he was willing to come back to take care of every single item on our punch list.

We had a problem with our kitchen cabinets and, where other contractors would have left us to deal with the finger-pointing between the appliance company (JennAir) and his kitchen company, Bill stood by us -- fought with his sub and made them get new cabinets from the manufacturer (Ultracraft) which he re-installed. Bill is an honorable straight-shooter. And in writing this review, we're returning the favor the fire company did us by recommending Whalen Restoration - which deserves more than a five-star recommendation.

It's summer and it's a Saturday night on Cape Cod. Imagine a septic backup into a finished basement. nightmare. I had seen trucks from Whalen Restoration on my way to work while driving on Rt 6 and thought "if I ever a problem, at least I know a company to call". Well, now I had a problem and I am so glad I called. Bill's crew responded in less than an hour and removed the damaged carpeting and baseboards, cleaned the mess, and explained what they were doing as they went along.

Bill worked with me and my insurance company restoring the basement to be ready for this summer's onslaught of company. Great job all around for the emergency clean-up and restoration. Would definitely recommend and call again (but hope I never have to).

Whalen Restoration was absolutely unbelievably amazing to work with on an insurance claim gut renovation of our master bathroom involving removing every single part of the floor, ceiling below, shower and plumbing. Not only were they incredibly professional and wonderful to deal with, the level of workmanship in all phases of reconstruction was perfect.

These guys were nothing short of amazing! We have a wonderful summer home in Chatham. Recently, and unfortunately, we needed the services of Whalen Restoration Services, Inc. (Whalen RS) to restore serious water damage to one of our bedrooms due to a water backup in our attic A/C HVAC system directly above that bedroom. We had severe damage to the ceiling and part of one wall. Fortunately, Whalen RS came to us with high recommendations from friends and neighbors and we were smart enough to go with this, in our opinion 5 Service company! 1).

Across the board their staff was highly competent, professional, attentative, and polite. 2). The Emergency staff showed up quickly to remove the ceiling, part of one wall, all wet insulation and one A/C vent. In addition they did an incredible job of cleaning up, and covered the ceiling with plastic, knowing it would be a while for an insurance settlement. 3).

Service level managers were cooperative and supportive as we went back and forth with a very stubborn insurance company, until finally we came to an all around settlement - thank you Whalen RS! 4). All workmen were highly professional, competent, thourough and attentative to detail. 5). The results was new insulation and A/C vent, new ceiling and part of one wall with incredible plastering - especially on the scrolled ceiling; a highly professional and complete paint job; and a 5 Bedroom that looked brand new! Hurricane Ida left us with water in our basement. The owner called to personally explain what the team would do and when they would be there. This was the only company that came out immediately on Labor Day weekend to do the work. Clear and concise communication. Amazing crew/team of people! I will always call Whalen from this point forward. They know exactly what they are doing!

Let's get to the result first, end product was stellar and we are very pleased. Bill Whalen and his entire crew were great to work with. Very professional. What started as an insurance covered water damage repair in a leaky shower in the master bath, turned into a complete overhaul of the entire master bath, and why not gut two other full bathrooms at the same time. And, just to add to the challenge, let's start the projects 6 months into the Covid shutdown.

Bill assigned John to run our job. He communicated with us throughout. Even though we were out of state while the work was done, we were updated with photos and progress reports during the renovations. He was terrific! We added additional side jobs (Plumbing, carpentry.) along the way and all were completed with complete satisfaction. Jose did an amazing job on the custom built bulkhead to the crawlspace! A water disaster in our basement necessitated the need for a restoration service. Our plumber recommended Whalen Restoration Services who responded immediately, removed the contents of our basement, and explained that our kitchen and bathrooms would need to be gutted. Throughout a very stressful time, the Whalen team worked with the insurance adjustor and kept us apprised of the steps that would need to be taken.

When we realized that we could keep the Whalen team on to facilitate the rebuilding of these rooms, we didn't hesitate. While we lost some time due to the COVID shutdown, the project was otherwise as smooth as it could have been.
