Sherman Mechanical

We have an HVAC service agreement with Sherman Mechanical and have been very pleased with the quality and timeliness of their service. Last week we had a new garbage disposal installed and we were very satisfied with the service.

Sherman has maintained our home HVAC system since we bought the home 3 years ago and does an excellent job. They contact us twice a year to schedule our maintenance.

I have used Sherman multiple times and had thought that they did a good job for a decent price. In the last 6 months I've had them here twice for plumbing issues and the first time I was charged more than double of what was estimated. They knew exactly what they were coming to do, which was replace the washing machine supply lines and drain and the box on the wall.

The guy came without the parts, charged me $100 and said he has to order the parts and come back another time. He gave me an estimate which ended up being half of the end price. The second time, most recently I had 2 toilets that were getting plugged off and on. The guy came, looked in the back of one toilet, asked if we had any other drains where water is coming up (which we did not) and he determined we need 2 new toilets.

He charged me $100, recommended the type of toilet to buy and left. We replaced the toilets ourselves, to the cost of $500 and ended up still having the same problem. So they did send their expert plumber out and in one minute with a snake type thing he had the clog cleared. There was nothing wrong with the toilets. There was a clog in the drain and I am very upset that they didn't even try that very simple thing before telling me to buy two new toilets.

When I spoke to the supervisor, she just said she has to stand behind her guys. And that this is their standard response to the problem I was having. I would not recommend them or use them ever again.

Michael is awesome he listens as you explain to him what you want and we are all diagram down, then Keith welder he's the best I've seen and everything he's done for me it's still holding no complaints

I reached out to Sherman Mechanical, Inc. when our furnace wasn't working on one of the coldest days of the year. Michael was professional and didn't push me into purchasing anything I didn't need right away, which was appreciated. I feel like the workers went above and beyond and did the job in timely manner. Awesome experience!

We had a hot water pipe leak in our basement which plumber, John K, fixed in a very professional way with virtually no residual clean up for us despite him having to cut through a dry wall ceiling to replace a section of the pipe. We have used this company for years and have always been pleased with the reliable, competent and courteous representatives that were sent to our home. They are a dependabler company!

Where do I begin? OVERPRICED! The fact that this company is in business is a miracle. I called them about an AC unit issue that they claimed to have fixed and the unit went out a month later. They said it looked like a good unit and would last. They were WRONG! I decided to give them a second chance to fix a leak in my bathroom sink. They claimed to have fixed it but it wasn't and I had to call them to come back and fix it. They refused! Stay away from this fraudulent and terribly run company!

Fantastic fast service. Was having issues with my furnace on a particular cold stretch. Was kind of work so felt bad calling someone out. The person I spoke to was super friendly and got a tech sent out within a few hours. He was fantastic and got things fixed no problem. Explained it was a common problem and ways to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I recently had a very strange issue with my AC unit because my Nest thermostat is throwing it all off. I had a HVAC guy (Bill) come and he spent a few hours trying to figure out the issue. Because this issue was perplexing, Bill went as far to call the manufacturer and get to the bottom of it. He then can back the next day to resolve my problem. Very professional and you can tell they care for the customer! I would highly recommend this company and Bill specifically!

Wanted to get an estimate for a new water heater. They only do estimates with a $95.00 fee attached. Also, the woman on the phone could give me fee details on what I needed. Which is hard since they will not come look at what needs to be done. Very disappointed in their customer service. Back to Althoff it is.
