Update- New owner is not like the old owner, much more responsive and at least addressed my issue. The text below is the review of the original owner: They do not stand behind their products. I have had a problem with the liner of my inground pool which they replaced for us. We called them three times last year, they were supposed to come out a look at it, never showed up.
We pumped out our pool this year to inspect the liner ourselves, the pool water delivery people were suprised at the issue. To date - over a year later, still nothing from the company. We DO NOT RECOMMEND you utilze their services - they were glad to take our money at first but offer nothing in terms of standing behind what they offer.

I had been to Poolman for some chemicals and other supplies, and they were very nice and helpful. When it came time to close the pool for the season, I hired them, and they gave me a date. I had left for the weekend on that date and they never showed up. They finally came a week later and took two days. to close a pool. They installed new anchors for the cover and didn't tell me, so I got an invoice for $140 a week later. Ridiculous.
I just opened the pool filter for the season to get it ready and they never even cleaned the filter. There was DE sitting at the bottom of it. They just left everything there. I absolutely won't be using them for service anymore.

We had the worst experience with our pool opening. I first called on Thursday June 4th. I stressed to the girl on the phone that we are first time pool owners (bought our house in the fall, this is our 1st season using the pool) and weren't sure what the procedure was. She said they would probably be able to do it the following day (Friday June 5th).
I asked if there was anything she needed from us and she said no, just to make sure the pool cover was clear of any sticks & leaves. Friday rolls around and they never showed up, nor did they call. By the time I was able to call them back that evening they'd closed. I called again the following morning (Saturday June 6th) to ask what was going on.
The girl just said they weren't able to get there (obviously.) and would probably be able to come that Monday (June 8th) and that she would call me later in the day to confirm. I got a voicemail from her around 3 pm saying they'd be coming Monday morning, again reiterating to make sure the pool cover was free of any sticks and leaves, and also to make sure the pool water was "halfway up the skimmers." Well, they never asked us the size of our pool.
It's a 30 X 60 in ground pool, approximately 80,000 gallons. As soon as I got her message, around 2-3 hours later, we ran out and put a hose in the pool. We had it running all night, all day Sunday, and overnight on Sunday. Again- 1st time pool owners, we didn't know how long it would take to fill the water level to where they needed it. When they showed up on Monday, the water still wasn't where they needed it to be.
All they could do was take the cover off, put the two ladders in at the deep end and that was about it. The guys were here for maybe 30 minutes total, then left without saying a word. I called them that afternoon to ask what was going on, and the girl said that someone named Roger would be in touch with me. Roger didn't call me until the following day (Tuesday June 9th) to see if the water level was up where it needed to be.
It finally was, and he said they'd try to squeeze us in the following day for the guys to finish up. Well Wednesday rolls around. and again, they don't show up, nor do they call us to give us a heads up that they couldn't make it. So I called them AGAIN and they said they'd come the following day Thursday June11th. This time I pressed multiple times to actually get a time window when we could expect them and asked what was going to happen if they didn't show up for what would now be the third time.
She said they would definitely be there, but couldn't give me an exact time- best she could do was "around or just after lunchtime." I also expressed that our pool had now been sitting open, in full sun, for DAYS and was dark green and disgusting. The girl said they'd throw in some extra chemicals & cleaning at no cost for our trouble. Well, they did show up on Thursday. around 4:30 in the afternoon.
They didn't do the "extra cleaning" we'd been promised. All they did was throw some chlorine in & turn on the filters. We had to then research what to do ourselves and spent DAYS scrubbing, vacuuming, and shocking the pool and had to clean the filters twice (we have DE filters so we also had to buy a ton of DE to put back in after the cleanings) because of how disgusting it had gotten.
Once we got the water cleared up, we noticed giant piles of sand in the deep end that had gotten dumped into the pool while they were taking the cover off. I understand this is a busy time of year, but I am also a small business owner. I cannot IMAGINE setting up MULTIPLE appointments with someone, and then not showing up & not calling them to at least give them a heads-up.
We also never heard one "sorry for the confusion" or "apologies for the inconvenience" from anyone. We paid full price for the opening, but we will never be using this company again. We paid $340 for them to take the cover off & turn the pumps on. We ended up doing the bulk of the work ourselves- not easy with a pool this size especially as new pool owners. Would not recommend!

Our experiences with Tate Welles and Poolman Pools of East Windsor started a few years ago. We bought a house with an inground pool. When we moved in the pool was perfect. That winter we had it closed by another company (in Enfield) and in the spring when they opened it the back 1/3 liner was in the water. We called two pool companies. One was way overpriced (just to come look at it) and the other we would have had to wait 3 weeks.
I called Tate and Tate and Jeff came right out. They repaired the liner and it gave us 3 good years. This fall we had it replaced. We have been dealing with Tate and Poolman Pools of E.W. long enough to trust them implicitly. I have dealt with different pool companies but none can compare with Poolman Pools and Tate and Jeff Welles. They and their team of workers are courteous, professional, respectful and johnny on the spot. I just can't sing their praises enough. Thanks Tate and Jeff, Roger and the rest of the crew for all you have done to make our pool owning a joyous experience.

We were in need of an inground pool restoration. After reviewing several companies, we decided to hire Poolman Pools of East Windsor Ct. We were concerned about the demolition of the old pool and reconstruction of a new pool but our worries were few. Tate and his crew did an excellent job with professionalism and the new pool looks great! We highly recommend Poolman Pools to handle any pool project you may have from renovations to new pool construction with utmost confidence.

I have been going to Poolman Pools for the last few years. I love being able to go in and see either Tate or Roger for all my pool questions. They test my water, give me a printout and let me know what chemicals I need. I buy all my pool supplies from them. Prices are really reasonable. Customer service is A plus. They really get to know their customers by name. Great company!

After 5 years of interviewing almost a dozen pool companies in finally found Tate! Tate, his Dad and the entire team were wonderful. Why I didn't find them sooner I'll never know but without a doubt they are the very best. From start to finish and still a phone call here and there, he's always there for us. That's what I call professional customer service.
I finally have my little oasis! Even though I was away during some of the installation, Tate handled everything that needed to be done and reassured me along the way. I cannot thank you enough for everything and will always be grateful for your advise.everything about the pool is perfect!

My husband purchased a Hayward Filter last weekend for 85.00 and it has run for a week, not working at all. We had our water tested by Namco because at 3:40 on Saturday 6/18/2016 Poolman was closed even though the time quoted to be open was till 4pm. Water came back fine, Namco says it's our new filter. My husband tried to replace it this morning and was told by one of the two women there that he did not buy it at their location.
When he produced the receipt the second woman said yes he bought it from her, then they said there was nothing they could do, they refused to replace the filter, when he asked to speak with the owner he was told he had just left and they would not bother him on "Fathers Day". I have called 2x's to inquire if they had a filter in stock so I could buy it and try to clear up the pool and let my family enjoy fathers day also.
I have been told by both Linda and Annmarie that they will call me back. that was over an hour ago and no call as of yet. This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I have sent a help letter to Hayward Filters and found it odd that Poolman was not listed on their webpage as a Authorized dealer. I hope the owner has more class then these two women and makes this right if we ever get to speak with him.

I really tried to do business with poolman but was not sucessful. I experienced damage to my pool over the winter. I needed repair and poolman came out and said I needed a new pool. All of this was fine, but I needed an estimate to give to the insurance company. Poolman came out and said he would give me a written estimate in two days. A week later, I kept asking for my estimate and to schedule work.
Several e-mails to the account and "I wills" turned into fustration. The owner did not take responsiblilty, he blamed his workers. Then he told me I could come to a job site he was working on to get it. Really, he was too busy to drive the 5 minutes to drop it off. I did try to go get it, but when I got there it wasn't there so that was a waste of time. Again, he knows I came over, he couldn't take the five minutes to come over and drop it off.
After that he stopped communicating. I wasted a week and a half, but maybe it was for the best. If he was too busy for this, he would of been too busy to do the work in a decent time. I can not attest to his quality of work, but the customer service was very poor!
