Very happy with my wood stove purchase from Hearth and Home. I explained what I was looking for, and Bob gave me several options to choose from. The Quadra Fire stove heats up the whole house. Cost was reasonable and Jake did a great job on a prompt installation. Couldn't be happier with Bob, Jake and Hearth and Home. Highly recommend them.

It is over a month ago that I had the insert installed and though I complained about the log array the next day, I have not heard back from the local contractor with the QuadraFire franchise. The current array is like watching the flames on a gas stove. It puts out a nice heat, but the $5K, I was expecting that it would also be pleasing to look at. Would not select this product again and am hoping that they will contact me at some point.

The quadrafire rep came to my house and he replaced the defective unit with a new one, works flawlessly, very happy with it. He told me I should of bypassed the store and contacted him sooner. Buy your insert from a store that does the install, dont let them contract it out. If you get something bad out of the box, the retailer blames the contracted installer, the installer blames the retailer, the rep blames them both. can be very frustrating, especially when the item in question costs thousands of dollars.

We bought a Quadra-Fire gas fireplace insert 4 - 5 years ago. After about two years, it stopped working well, The flame would creep back to the back left corner and the heat level would fall accordingly. I have gone to the Quadra-fire company and to my dealer. Neither was willing to help me because the unit is no longer within its warranty period. I would strongly recommend AGAINST buying any products from this company.

I bought a Quadra Fire gas insert 6 years ago and would recommend not buying anything that this firm or the company that bought them called Home & Hearth Technologies manufacturers. The reason not to buy from this manufacturer is that Quadra Fire thinks their customers are their dealers, and not the end users that buy Quadra Fire products. Consequently, if you do have any quality or performance problems with your Quadra Fire gas inserts, as I have had, they will foist you off onto their dealers, and appear to use this marketing ploy, to get you to give up complaining directly to Quadra Fire.

I do not have a gas insert, but I thought I would chime in too. I have a 7100 wood burning fireplace that was installed when we built a brand new custom home in 2008. The fireplace was about $4,500. After two years the fireplace has multiple cracks and sagging metal in multiple areas. The blower bearings have also become extremely noisy, it sounds like a jet engine whine.
I contacted a dealer who came out to verify the issues, I was charged $80 just for this service, no other work was performed. The technician verified the issues and contacted Quadrafire or Home Hearth Technologies in Minnesota. Keep in mind that this stove is only a few years old and comes with a "lifetime" warranty. After several weeks they finally agreed to send a kit to reinforce the internal metal.
We waited several more weeks and the kit finally arrived. The tech installed part of the kit and then discovered that one of the three pieces had been machined backwards! Are you effing kidding me? After a two month wait we are going to have to go through this again? So that was two weeks ago with a total wait of more than 7 weeks to get this very expensive and quite new stove repaired.
I called, e-mailed and tweeted to Quadrafire for some explanations or at least a refund of the $80 I had to spend in order to have this POS stove repaired. I was not given an apology, a refund or even a simple return call or e-mail. All I got was silence. Pretty pathetic. I would NOT purchase or recommend a Quadrafire product based on this experience, which is still ongoing.
