While I was pleased to find a vendor that would install a new on demand hot water heater I have been greatly disappointed in their lack of professionalism. They do not return calls and are unresponsive to client needs. They provided me with a standard fee of $5,250 to install a Rinnai ABSENT any itemization. I requested an itemized quote numerous times and was questioned by Sean/Shawn, "why do you need that"?
I explained I'd like a breakdown of the work they quoted - they never provided this. Now a week later, they have continued to fail to provide an itemized accounting of their work. What is this customer left to believe other than, they over charged and are hiding this fact. Moreover, as I examined the work performed I notice that the new gas line appears to be improperly secured at one juncture where it seems logical to have support.
They have not followed up regarding rebates and have left this customer 'hanging out to dry'. NOT customer oriented or responsive to customer needs. They will likely take financial advantage of you so I advise looking elsewhere to get your needs met.

Jim Dorsey and Son Inc was able to identify a plumbing issue at my home and provided next steps to rectify the issue. Plumbers Joshua and Mike were very patient with explaining the issue and made it a stress free encounter since I am a new homeowner. They were very professional, prompt, and understanding. The pricing is also reasonable and they accept multiple forms of payment which is amazing. I will recommend Jim Dorsey and Son Inc for any future work in my home.

Eddie solved a problem that multiple HVAC contractors could not solve. I was having issues with my heating system that kept my home really cold. I was quoted insane prices to fix it. I replaced the parts these "technicians" told me were the problem and it didn't even fix it. I called Jim Dorsey and Son for assistance. Eddie came over and come to find out all the repairs I did were for nothing.
He actually found the issue and fixed it on the spot! A pretty simple fix. Not the thousands of dollars these other guys were gonna charge me. I should have called Jim Dorsey & Son earlier! Big shout out to Eddie for doing all he can to fix this! Saved me from so much stress and loss of money. Lifetime customer now!

First time calling Jim Dorsey & Son. Our Triangle Tube boiler failed Sunday morning - leaving us with no automatic heat or hot water. We had alternative heat - but no hot water. After asking around, we were pointed to JimDorsey & Son. A phone call Monday noontime resulted in an appointment for Tuesday, first any 11 - 1, then changed to 7-9. Crew showed up at 8, diagnosed problem and parts by 9, left to get parts, then back and boiler running by noontime. Great service - even for a first time customer. Will definitely call them again for any service they offer.

My water heater sprung a leak (due to rust) early New Year's Day. I called Dorsey for emergency service and left a message. True to their word, I received a callback within 15 minutes. An hour later a technician arrived and assessed the situation. Within 2 hours a new water heater was installed. He was very professional, knew what he was doing, and answered all my questions. Highly recommend.

I have been working with this company for many years and they have always showed up quickly in an emergency and stick by their word. It's rare to find honesty, and dedication consistently and this is how they have been for me. They go out of their way to make sure they customer is satisfied as well. I'll start by saying I had another company out here 3 times (after a bunch of no shows, late visits, and cancellations on their part) and they couldn't figure out the issue but certainly charged me for coming out. I decided to look for a new plumber and came across Jim Dorsey and Son and they blew away my expectations. The plumber was here on time and got right to work.
I was asked a few questions to get the lay of the land and within minutes, he had diagnosed the issue. After confirming with a Navien technician over the phone, he corrected the issue and I've had hot water every single time I've called for it and the Navien has stopped erroring out. He was here for less than an hour and resolved an issue that lasted since the end of winter that the other company couldn't figure out.
I also want to mention the lovely woman who scheduled my appointment. We played some phone tag (My fault; not hers) and she always left a pleasant message. She got me on the schedule when I needed her to and confirmed all my information (name, address, phone number, window of service, etc). This might seem like a small thing but with the company I used previously, this never took place.
Little things like that make the customer experience a lot better. I wish I had their names so I could give them a personal shout out! I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Great job!

I shopped around for the most qualified plumbing, heating and AC contractors around and I settled on Jim Dorsey and Son. My project was pretty comprehensive and his team was at my house for about 4 days. They replaced all the heating, installed new central air and an on demand gas water heater. These guys are as professional as you will find. They also kept my house clean and were timely and polite. I wholeheartedly recommend these guys.

I would not recommend them. While I agree they should be paid for their time, they nickel and dime you for everything. They charged me $100 to snake a pipe that did not need it. Yes, the experts performed an unnecessary service and charged me for it. You could tell it was the end of the day because he just wanted to leave just by his demeanor. In the end I paid over $300 just to be told to call someone else.
So I did. Soares came and said what Dorsey recommended was not needed. Save yourself time and money and call Soares first - that's what I'll be doing from now. They were cheap, professional and best of all they fixed my problem.

I've never had anyone try and talk me OUT of spending money to fix a problem like these people. I told him what I thought was wrong, and he suggested something else. Partially fixed the problem and left me with no cold water pressure at all in my bathroom. Made an appointment for the following week to fix the pressure issue. They cancelled on me after the initial plumber said that it was DEFINITELY what I had originally suggested it was, and they wouldn't have time to do it today.
Also quoted the price of replacing a valve at $950. Seriously? Called another plumber. They came the same day. Found the problem in five minutes, replaced a $.10 WASHER and charged me a tenth of what Dorsey said it would cost. Never again will I call these guys out. Glad I found my new go to plumber. The guy that came out was rude, pushy, and completely unprofessional. Beware.

I believe Dorsey plumbing provide inferior work, the inability to properly diagnose and resolve issues. The customer service is poor and unfortunately results in animated, angry conversations where a lack of respect is shown to the consumer. They sent out a gas contractor to repair in oil fired heating system. A simple diagnosis was missed, people were left in the cold.
Their workmanship did not last four hours before failing. Upon a second return additional monies were billed. If you are looking to be overcharged via inability to diagnose issues this company will provide you the best of experiences. On a positive note they are readily accessible, Quick to Bill, and try their best. Unfortunately this review comes from multiple experiences with this company.

We have used Jim Dorsey & Son to service our furnace for more than five years. We call them before Winter arrives and they are always on time, provide quality work and are quick to get done what needs to get done. You won't have to worry about waiting for them to show up OR waiting for them to finish. I recommend them to anyone.

I'm glad Rob had a good experience with Dorsey and Son - mine have not been as kind. I've experienced some ignitor issues on my gas furnaces and although Dorsey does do a great job in coming to the rescue quickly the charges have been brutal. Recently I wanted someone to come out and do maintenance on by two furnaces while also showing me how it was done (one in basement and one in attic), Joe Curley couldn't make it so Joey came out. Joey had previously attempted to charge us an extra $90 for taking a screwdriver out of his tool belt until we complained how ludicrous this was for what was done.
Anyway - he did a good job showing me what I needed to know - but the fee was $170 for the first furnace and $160 for the second - the only parts replaced were the filters. He was there about 45 minutes, although when I called to state I thought they overcharged, the reply was he was there for 1.5 hours (not on this planet was it 90 minutes). Regardless Joey said it was charged by furnace and not time - and that there was discounts over the next year on parts and labor.
Besides I had assurances that I was good for the winter. Two weeks later - no heat in the bottom floor and a call for quick service. Sure enough the ignitor gone. Joey again out and didn't charge for labor but the part was only discounted from $230 to $215. After he left we found the exact ignitor on line for as low as $14 (plus shipping). Helluva discount guys - thanks. I'm tempted to give them two stars for the quick service but if you were getting those profit margins on parts wouldn't you be rushing out there too? I'll be looking elsewhere for the service level that Dorsey gives but at a more reasonable price.

I should have written this review about one year ago. Long story short, My Oil Burner failed prematurely (10 years old, Heater Core Rotted) and it was determined that it had to be ripped out and replaced. This Weil McLean Boiler was originally installed by Dorsey. The "Heater Core" Cast Iron Casing was made in China. Caveat Emptor, stay away from Chinese manufactured products.
I solicited three quotes for a new Boiler and two were in the $7,000.00 range. Jim Dorsey's quote was in @ $1500.00. Though my Boiler was no longer in warranty, Jim worked out a deal with Weil McLean and got me a replacement unit for free. The $1500.00 quote was for labor only. In Jim's opinion, a Boiler should last for 30 Years. Jim went way beyond the call of duty and took care of business in a timely fashion. Also, he has a great crew of people working for him. All are very professional and really care about customer service.
