They did my kitchen remodel about 15 years ago. They did a great job and was on time and on budget and the guys showed everyday until the job was done. Everything still looks great. Service: Remodeling

Critical: Professionalism Whoever was driving the blue van on 272nd around 2:35 pm in Kent was driving very erratically, revving the engine unnecessarily, and endangering other drivers. You may be a 24/7 service, but we all want to arrive alive. Very unprofessional.

McClincy's promotes hate and racism! A man driving one of their delivery trucks gratuitously bellowed offensive racial slurs at my friends and me as he drove past us today. This happened at 12:30 PM Friday June 25, 2021 on 4th and Duvall, in the Renton Highlands. When we called to let the owner know, he responded with "sticks and stones." So, it seems being a racist is a preferred quality in their staff. Disgusting.

I do not recommend McClincy's. I went in to the store to look into some remodel work and was told their estimator would contact me to set up a time. 2 months later I hadnt heard back. My son's hair cuts are done across the street, so after his hair cut we went in to talk to them and was told they didn't contact me because my job was "too small" and may not be worth it.

Finally a week or so after that I got a phone call that said "McClincy told me to call and give you a quote." That tells me they really didn't care about my business. Sadly, they had a half way decent quote and had they not treated me like I wasn't worth their time, I might've actually gone with their bid.

Started off seemingly ok but once the job started the installers started counting material and realized that they were going to run out. The installers called their shop and made them aware of the situation but no one called us on updates. Went down to the shop and asked how soon the material wood be in to finish the job and the owner made a joke that we should get a laminate floor stretcher, my wife walked out and not very happy with that response.

After about a week the remaining material came in. The installers almost finished and wound up running short again, they had to order more material. The installers arrived on time every day and did a great job working with us. We the customer had to call them, the shop, most of the time for updates, they did call us but it was when we were coming down to make a payment. There was no customer service.

McClincy's remodeled our kitchen and bathrooms. They were easy to work with and on time. We recommended them to several neighbors who also had remodeling work done once they say how well ours turned out. Service: Remodeling

Sadly, nothing appears to have changed with the quality of their work or customer service. We hired them to install carpet in our family room and stairs. Installers did a shoddy job, not even tacking the carpet down on one side in the family room or cutting out the key hole for our gas fireplace shut off. I noticed this right after they left and was able to call them back.

The stairs appeared fine but quickly began wrinkling and appeared to be be cut too narrowly on some stairs, too wide on others. We called McClincy's and were told to call the installers directly. We did, they tried to fix it but to no avail. We now have left repeated messages requesting the owner to call us back. Save the hassle and call another local business.

It's really unfortunate that I feel the need to leave such a poor review. We hired McClincy's to remodel our kitchen and bath 2 years ago. For the most part, we were very happy with the service and the work they provided. That being said, now that I am experiencing a problem with a cabinet hinge, they have been horrible to work with. I understand COVID has had a tremendous negative effect on businesses.

I get that. But I called them back in April explaining I had a broken hinge to a cabinet that was preventing the cabinet from fully closing. It is now August and I've called multiple times, asking for someone to come look at it, sending photos of the hinges and door, being told I'll get a call back, someone will be at my house on this day, no one shows or calls, then being told they'll come the next day and again no show.

On and on of just a bunch of lies and BS! We paid McClincy's tens of thousands of dollars and you would think that this broken hinge was like asking them to remodel the whole kitchen again. I have been extremely patient, considerate, and have allowed ample time for them to make this right, but they have failed. I will never do business with them again and will no longer refer people to them. For a small business who depends on word of mouth, you would think they would make an effort to keep clients happy. Apparently they don't care.

Although booking a consult was easy and they showed up on time, our experience was very unpleasant after this and as a result we opted to not work with them. Getting an estimate felt like pulling teeth, the guy argued with me and was very defensive when I would ask simple questions. Yes they've been in business forever but they no longer have much patience or desire for customer service.

I was willing to give them another chance but when I went in to pick out materials there was more condescending treatment and it was very unsettling. It was really bizarre. The initial estimate was out of our budget and they were pretty inflexible so all in all this did not work out.

I hired them to do a shower remodel in 2010. That project did not go well but the owner stepped in and took care of the problems. Fast forward 9 years and the very heavy shower door has pulled the shower surround away from the wall due to the fact that they hung the door with drywall anchors. I called them to come take a look at it and the owner came out himself.

He was unsure of how to fix it and was concerned about damaging the marble wall itself. He said that in order to protect myself I should notify my insurance and tell them a made up story that my kids had hung off the door which caused the damage. I did not do this but did try to get them to get the issue fixed. After a few calls and messages to them, I stopped receiving calls back. I will not ever go to this company again and will never recommend them. I did call another contracting company who was excellent in taking care of the problem.

The McClincy experience has been great. It started off by them catching the fact that, in our ignorance, we had purchased a shower enclosure from a big box store that was not going to work. It was not able to flex with the needs of the project. I saw the problem so I know it was not an up-sell but a real problem. So, we had them build us the custom enclosure that was needed for our job. Perfect solution and perfect installation, for roughly our original cost without installation.

A few years ago, we awoke to a flood in our daylight basement. Our driveway goes down a few feet to our garage, and there is a drain in front of the garage door at the bottom. It became clogged one night during heavy rain, and in the morning the whole basement had 4 inches of dirty water in it. Six months earlier, we had remodeled the basement with really nice bamboo floors, grasscloth wallpaper and custom lyptus wood trim and doors.

Once the drain was f4ixed, the floors were toast and we had a ring around the basement floor that had seeped up several inches. I called our homeowners insurance and the sent a guy out. They said that they would pay $6,000 to replace the floors. I asked about the molding, doors and wallpaper, and they said that could be cleaned up. So I looked for someone to replace the floors, and a friend recommended McClincy Brothers Floor Coverings in Renton. Tim McClincy came over to check it out, and the first thing he asked me was if I had signed anything.

I told him that I hadn't, and he said I was being screwed. He said the insurance was supposed to out it back the way it way, and that just replacing the floors would leave a problem that would just grow. He also said that I could not get the Teragren bamboo installed for $6,000. He was really angry, and he said that he could deal with the insurance.

So we hired McClincy Brothers. It took a while, but the insurance ultimately paid over $50,000 to fix it right. And now I have my special basement back. I have never seen another contractor who will go fight am insurance company for a customer like that. We did not pay him any extra for all that work. We just paid for the work itself, and insurance covered that.

I have never seen another businessman who had the same passion for helping his customers. The work his company did was first rate across the board. When I researched McClincy Brothers, I came a across a lot of great reviews and then some really awful ones. These days, it seems like you can find terrible reviews for anyone. Most of the negative reviews I read are so negative that they are unbelievable.

I mean no one could be that bad even if they tried. But when some people are unhappy, everyone but them is to blame. We all know the type. All I can say is that the day someone recommended McClincy Brothers was one of the luckiest days of my life. My beloved basement is as good as new, and that is entirely Tim McClincy's fault. I would recommend McClincy Brothers to anyone without hesitation.

Total lack of communication between owner and his craftsmen. Customers are told something, and the craftsmen are only given a part of the information. Also, when materials are custom ordered, NO ONE checks part numbers of materials received against the numbers ordered. We ordered tan wall tile for our antique white kitchen, but the ones installed during the confusion of remodeling, are akin to battleship gray. We are now awaiting a solution to this mismatch. We also had a deadline, as we are hosting out of town families for a big family wedding next week.

Beware that this company has you sign a contract when providing clean up services, that requires you to use them for the restoration construction portion. This is not standard practices. Don't sign it and don't work with them.

I dont' know if this place changed hands or what, but they're not the business they used to be. Their "customer service" is far from pleasureable and their constructio is shoddy. They will try to "get by" hoping you don't notice their work - so you have to stay on top of them the whole time. Not good and not worth the risk of ending up with low-quality work.

Not to mention the time frame issue. There are way too many busineses out there and McClincy's has proven themselves to be horrible. My friend also used them last year and said she'd never do it again. Sorely disappointed in their work.

I hired McClincy's to remodel my kitchen. They were doing great until the decorator made an error that left my range intruding two inches into the dining room. After that everything went down hill. They were looking for a quick fix to the embarrassing problem. They didn't want to have much to do with me and the work became shoddy in many cases.

I don't think the man I dealt with handled the workers well when it came to correcting the errors that then began to pile up. The original error was the decorator's and he wanted to blame the workers for his lack of oversight. Finally I just paid them off and tore out the substandard work myself and redid it. Now I know better.
