I bought four Feather River "Preston" series doors for my work-in-progress home remodel: three fiberglass exterior entry doors, two 1/4 lite and one 1/2 lite, and one full lite white oak interior door which they no longer offer. The full lite has been installed since 2014 and one 1/4 lite since 2015. No issues with either with the exception of the sweep getting torn on the exterior door.
The 1/2 lite and second 1/4 lite that we ordered in 2020 took a while to arrive. Only problem with the second order was too much factory expansion foam between the glass and the door for the 1/2 lite, which I had to cut off before painting. Haven't experienced cracking or overheating with any of the doors, nor have I needed Feather River customer service. For the price point, they're good and I'm happy with them. The Preston glass with zinc caming is gorgeous.

DO NOT BUY THIS DOOR: Phoenix Patina Craftsman Stained Chestnut Mahogany Right-Hand Fiberglass Prehung Front Door! WARNING! This door is defective and the customer service from Feather River is non-existent. We noticed right away that this door gets INCREDIBLY HOT when any bit of sun hits it. I mean you can't touch it hot, not safe hot! People with small children should really take notice of this warning.
Our issues don't just end there; within in two months of having this door installed it cracked! We do have a storm door paired with this door, but from the start our installer told us to vent the storm door if it was hot outside. Home Depot recommends you vent the storm door if it is 70 degrees or hotter out.that's not the case, you literally have to vent it 24/7 (which defeats the purpose of the storm door), which we have done and it still cracked!
To give a clear picture of how bad this issue is: 10:30 am, sun was on door, storm door was vented, 47 degrees out side (only 47!) and the door was so hot you could not leave your hand on it for even 3 seconds. I tested it twice, could only make it to the count of two, and for the next hour my palm was red and hurt. Neither Home Depot nor Feather River have any warnings about pairing with a storm door, needing to vent it, or about how hot this door can get in the sun. Feather River said they would replace the door, but their warranty doesn't cover the install of the replacement, of course!
We know this issue will just occur again, so why would we replace the door with the same defective model that will just need to be replaced yet again? When I asked for a refund instead, NO response, they won' return my emails now. Getting help from Home Depot is a joke, just like the whole process was going through them for purchase and install (took over 4 months!).
Home Depot of course doesn't handle the warranty on Feather River doors; so far they have been zero help on the issue. We just want a refund on this faulty, poorly mad door so we can buy a nicer one, and we shouldn't have to pay for installation again on the replacement!

Just spoke with Janice Clarke, told me I wasn't careful enough when I painted the door, taped off all the panes and paint still seeped behind lattice work. She said it was not a design flaw and that I needed to be more careful when I painted it. She was extremely rude and would offer no other solution than to buy a whole new pane and be careful when I painted it. Worst customer service ever.

There are good and bad when ordering from Feather River, positive most of the time you get a good quality craftsmanship from fr, their decorative glass work is very nice and elegant. Bad most of the time every product you will buy from fr will be overpriced, when having a door painted they almost always come into the stores chipped and damaged and have order touch up paint.
If you are from the washington or oregon area, i would personally recommend Codel Doors, they have a very quick delivery ship time, they beat feather river and jeldwen in craftmanship and usually price and they have terrific customer service. As for a review on here about your door cracking due to heat on your door, The Home Depot and Feather River dont say to be careful of that happening because, it is very rare if it does happen.
But it does occur when there is direct sunlight to a fiberglass door usually with a storm door because the inside of a fiberglass door is insulating expansion foam. If you do get a replacement door you can always try a window shade on the interior of your storm door to break down the sunlight directly on your door and it would also help with alot of heat getting trapped inside also.
