With 40 years of experience, Doug Tedder started Doug Tedder Heating & Air Conditioning in 1983. In its early years, the company offered galvanized gutter installation, flashing, custom sheet metal work and residential HVAC. As the heating and air side of the business grew, gutters and flashing were eliminated from the scope of work so that Doug could focus on providing Murfreesboro's most comprehensive HVAC services. In December of 2002, Doug's son Jay partnered with his dad to form The Tedder Company.

When our AC went out Tedder provided us with a backup the same day while a new one was being installed. It was big enough to keep the house comfortable and very helpful seeing we have health condition in our family. We have used Tedder for several years and highly recommend them. Thank you again. Tedder Company replaced our 18 year old upstairs/downstairs HVAC units. Very satisfied with their work. Jeff, Alex, John and several others were great to work with. You will not find nicer, more capable, professional group than these guys. I've tried all the big names in Middle Tenn over my 30 years in this area. Tedder is best I have found. 5 stars for sure

I'm not sure of the install crew but they did great, because Tedder got my mother's HVAC unit replaced for me while I was out of state (she's disabled and I take care of anything like this). I think it was under 2 days after I gave them the 'go ahead' and it was replaced and running, and confirmed with family in town that it was working EXCELLENTLY.
They've also done several service calls on really short notice previously and been awesome; they told me truthfully on an over 15 year old unit several times if it was worth repairing, or probably be best to replace. Previous times they recommended relatively cheap repairs, but we had a major failure and they said they WOULD do the repair if I wanted, but it'd cost half as much as a new unit so wouldn't recommend, but would do whatever I wanted, no pushiness whatsoever.
I whole heatedly recommend this company, they've been amazing to deal with and I TRUST them, which has been a problem with some other local companies. I HIGHLY recommend them, and a special recognition to Jeff who has been my main contact! Love this company, everyone I've dealt with has been amazing, but Jeff definitely goes above and beyond what you'd expect.

The Tedder Company deserves 10 stars. From the first phone call, I felt valued and like they were listening. My main point of contact was Jeff Hess. He showed up to my house at a time that met my schedule and was happy to look around the current unit I have, my duct work in the attic, and see what could work. He recommend a 12K BTU Mitsubishi Ductless unit.
They were able to work me in their schedule the same week from the first phone call! They proposed a fair price and laid out what all was included in the price; they didn't try and hide anything or add any unnecessary extras. These guys are the real deal and I appreciate so much what they were able to do for my family. Last summer we weren't able to spend time in our upstairs bonus room because it was so hot; this summer we plan on making this our primary hang out spot. Loved the support and team that Jeff brought.
All were fun, funny, and down to Earth guys; but they got the job done quickly and efficiently. Again, the Tedder Company deserves 10 stars and you owe it to yourself to call them next time your house is too hot!

The Tedder Company installed a new Heating System today. We used Tedder for the past 18 years and have always appreciated their professionalism as well as their caring spirit. It's painful financially to have to install a new HVAC system, but this house is 15 years old so it was time. We TRUST The Tedder Company and appreciate the employees working for this fine company.

My technicians are always personable, respectful, and polite when they arrive for service, which I am thankful for! Since the pandemic began, they always come in wearing masks to protect my household. One of my favorite things is that the service is not cold and impersonal, the technicians who service my HVAC know my parents and family and chats with me about them.
It feels like a small-town small business is coming to service you, and that you are a member of a community. I've always been impressed with the service and care I've gotten from the Tedder Company!

Outstanding--Five Star Service from beginning to end. You know the drill. AC always goes out during a heat wave. Well, it happened to me. My 4 year old, Rheem Classic unit was simply blowing hot air. A quick call to Tedder--appointment arranged. Brian showed up EARLY--yay! He diagnosed the problem (failed capacitor). Replaced it and had the unit working in less than 30 minutes.
All of this great service for a fair price. I strongly recommend The Tedder Company--good, honest and very capable folks. Before too long, I'll buy their service contract too.

I have used this company since the purchase of my first home in 2007. The owner Jay personally came to my home and earned my business on a new HVAC install and I LOVED the unit. They serviced the unit over the years and fast forward to my new home purchased where Randall saved me thousands of dollars on a unit that was failing. I have used Randall for several services and he has proven to be exceptional and thorough.
His attention to detail and the time he takes to explain things is what I appreciate the most. He is kind, considerate, and explains things in a way that you can actually get! I like that. I like that I know the job is done right when he comes out to do the service and I feel great about calling Tedder. I have recommended them to everyone and will continue to do so!

Another 5 star experience with The Tedder company! Just had a tune up and thermostat install by Randall. Randall has done several services for me over the years and I have come to trust him tremendously. He is why I continue to choose Tedder and recommend them to neighbors, family and friends. I have found him and The Tedder company to be exceptional. Randall is personable and takes the time to discuss the service with me and is thorough with the work.

We contacted Tedder Company after being without air conditioning for 4 weeks because we were being given the run around by our home warranty and their contracted A/C company. Randall came out on a Monday after business hours, found the problem in minutes and had a written report with his recommendations. He treated us with honesty, integrity, genuine care and like we were family. They had the part in the next day and installed by Wednesday. They have earned our forever business and we will recommend them to everyone! We can't thank them enough!
