Certifications have become an industry must amongst reputable and quality contractors across the country. Why are certifications so important, you might ask. Most larger manufactures of construction products now have a certification program in place. The reason for these programs is to educate and ensure that contractors and tradesmen are installing their products with "best practice" methods according to the manufactures specifications.
Over the years kitchens have evolved to become a focal point and heart of the home. When considering a new kitchen remodel keep in mind the kitchen is now a family space, a catch all, and a place for entertaining. JM Remodeling is one of the premier Milwaukee kitchen remodeling contractors in the area with NARI awards to back it up.
One of the most used rooms in our homes today, is the bathroom. Expectations for the modern bathroom renovation have exploded within the last 20-30 years. The average size of a bathroom in the 70's and prior was about 50sq ft. The function of bathrooms then was mostly utilitarian. Bathrooms consisted of 1 tub/shower combination, 1 sink and 1 toilet.

My family were Tenants for a year at 3575 N OAKLAND. Sticking to just the facts. They are slow to respond to maintenance problems that's aren't priority. For example weeks for a clogged drain, weeks for thermostat issues. They are slow to maintain their sidewalks and parking lots with regards to plowing, salting and shoveling. Packages constantly get stolen from the lobby.
The apartment faces directly on Oakland Ave so you can hear constant street noise, as well as sirens and everything else under the sun. Transfer over to opinion, slum lord. They buckle and dime you anyway they can. We paid $1050 in rent for a 2bedroom 1bath apartment. In addition $50 per month for an ac unit, $50 for per rent, $50 for one parking space and $100 for the second.
Our rent would fluctuate between $1250-$1300 depending on the add-ons. The Neighbors are nice, mostly college kids in their junior or senior year. A few families, and not really any parties.

We signed with JM Remodeling back in May of 2020 to remodel our kitchen in our 1917 Craftsman house. We already had a finalized design (down to construction documents) so all that JM had to do was provide a quote and minimally adjust some of the areas (cabinetry). As part of the kitchen renovation, we would be responsible (keep the costs down) for the demo of the existing cabinets and purchasing new appliances, installing the floor tile, and purchasing and installing the countertops.
We worked through the details and signed a contract in May of 2020. I selected JM Remodeling and Construction and it was by far the worst experience I have ever had (I have experience with 6 various renovations). Not to spoil the ending here, but the lack of communication, coordination and customer service by the project manager was consistent problem.
Even more crazy the PM never called (once) or set foot once at our $65K project spanning 32 weeks (construction time). I find it extremely Interesting that their motto on their website says" we're designed & built around you, " which could not be farther from the truth. The worst part of this is that it could have been easily remedied by a couple of courteous phone calls from the Project Manager over the course of 32-week project (quoted at 8 to 10).
There onsite contact was great and tried to do everything within his means, but unfortunately did not have any authority as he was scheduled by the PM. After continuously contacting JM (as we had already ordered and scheduled everything on our end) about the actual start date, which finally occurred on August 18 it became extremely apparent that there was a response/communication problem from the Project Manager.
Please also keep in mind that we needed to demo our kitchen and wanted to use it until the last minute (like anyone would do). Countless (weeks go by) emails and telephone calls were made to the PM on status and simple coordination/scheduling confirmations were never returned. I finally had to escalate the issue to the owner's son (our sales rep) and I would get response and then it would decline again.
Fast forward to 3/25/2021, in which the project was finally finished (no change orders or design changes), but still the PM has not provided the closing documents (confirmation of inspections). It was not until 6/3/2021 until I finally received the final inspection documents (after multiple unanswered emails). Hopefully, this provides some insight on my terrible kitchen remodel experience with JM Remodeling.
The pandemic had no impact on this, just plain terrible customer service and no consideration for the customer. Update July 8, 2021, the owner/manager called and was extremely nice and was not aware of the issues impacting the project and and he made things right!

We hired JM to remodel our kitchen. It was a large project that included taking out a load bearing wall and supporting the basement. We were told in August of 2020 that the project would be 8-10 weeks so I was moderately hopeful to have it completed for Thanksgiving, which was 16 weeks out. That was far from the case. When Thanksgiving came and went, we hoped for maybe Christmas, which also came and went.
By the time Easter rolled through, I was fed up and disillusioned. I am very understanding when it comes to most things, however, the complete lack of communication was saddening. The crew would say they would be there, arrangements would be made, and then no one would show up for days at a time, sometimes weeks. The project manager was completely unresponsive, despite multiple emails and phone calls.
My husband ended up making many of the work arrangements himself by calling the tradesman directly. To add insult to injury, when they wanted their final payment without providing any of the ending paperwork, the receptionist actually told my husband that she has heard that he was difficult! Bottom line, if you want to eat using a toaster oven and microwave for over 32 weeks with no explanation, no work order changes, or actual reasons, then this is the company for you. On a side note-the tradesman maintained high quality work. It is a shame the project manager darkened their quality workmanship.

JM Remodeling and construction did an excellent job with my home! The new floors look amazing (carpet and LVT)! The experience that I had with the office staff was great. The PM was very responsive to my needs and questions. The paint looks just as I wanted with my accent walls. I would definitely recommend (and have) to my family and friends!

We got our bathroom remodeled a couple of years ago by JM. To start with a positive, the project manager and the workers were all very nice and polite. While the people were nice, the project manager we had was beyond terrible at making sure things got done correctly (let alone timely). She no longer worked there shortly after our remodel was "finished".
And for reference we paid over $20k on this remodel for our small 3/4 bathroom (which is in total a little under 27square feet in size). Firstly the 3 weeks it was supposed to take for the remodel to be completed turned into 3 months. They did run into rotted subfloor that they needed to repair, but the work paper we signed said it would add another week.
So instead of the extended 4 weeks it was supposed to take, it was 3 months. Secondly, the wrong tile was installed (the tile meant for the main bathroom floor was being installed in the shower) which they then had to completely rip up and redo. A third thing is that the plumbing was not moved to where it needed to be. We paid for it to move and it didn't get moved.
When we brought this up we were just told "sorry, it is what it is". We purchased a specialty toilet and specialty sink to fit better in that very small space, but instead they take up even more space now. The plumbing for the toilet was supposed to be moved closer to the wall, but it wasn't, so now the back of the toilet sits several inches in front of the wall.
With this giant gap, the new smaller toilet sticks out more than the old one did. The plumbing for the sink was supposed to be moved about 5 inches to the left of where it is. Because it wasn't moved, the vanity couldn't be installed in the right place, and now we cannot access the entire right half of the vanity because the toilet is blocking it.
If we were to get these fixed now we'd have to pay thousands of dollars. The fourth big thing is the wrong type of paint. Aside from the wrong color of paint, they did not use bathroom-safe paint, and about six months afterwards the paint they put on the ceiling was cracking and flaking off. We always used the fan (which they said was even bigger than what is needed for the space) every time we showered, so having unreasonably high moister levels are not the source (unless they were wrong about the fan bring good enough).
We never had this issue prior to the bathroom for remodeled. When we reached out to JM they said they'd give us a quote to redo it. They came out and looked at it and they never got back to us. One of the smaller things was that the handle for turning on the water for the shower was not installed correctly. It was not caulked and it didn't correctly cover the whole in the wall, letting water flow right into the wall, which we had to fix ourselves.
Another one of the smaller things was that they installed the wrong window. Our bathroom is on the first floor and the window opens to our neighbors driveway, so naturally we ordered the window with the obscure, (which was in our contract). They window that got put in did not have any obscure. Another smaller thing is that the new door that they installed was installed incorrectly and still has never closed all the way.
There were a number of really small issues like them not using the shower head we picked out, or the faucet, or towel bar, or toilet paper holder. We just got what our project manager decided to install instead. The things that got put in weren't even remotely close to what we wanted. Also, aside from the wrong kind of paint, the paint job itself was executed very poorly.
There were tons of drips and you could see hairs (like foot-long hairs from a human) were painted into the wall (I know it's hair because those pieces of hair only got half painted in, so you could see and touch the other half that was sticking out of the wall). Needless to say, paying $20k for them to do nearly everything incorrectly and take 4 times longer than originally quoted (3 times longer than the updated extended timeline) for remodeling a 27 sq ft bathroom was not a good time.

We used JM Remodeling for work on our screened-in porch. We had significant leaking on our screened-in porch. So much so, that water got into one of the lighting fixtures and half the porch would get drenched if there was any rain. We called JM Remodeling, after hearing positive reviews and recommendations. The owner, Josh, came out and did a thorough assessment and quickly provided 3 very fair estimates (our roof requires cedar shakes, so we were anticipating scary estimates.) The quotes gave us really great options to weigh.
The whole process was quick and thorough. Afterwards, we were able to confidently install new lighting and an outdoor fan without worrying about potential leaks. We also invested in new cushions and a throw rug. Our porch is now one of our favorite spaces to relax and host people. We receive so many compliments! It's so nice to just sit outside and enjoy a summer storm without worrying about the roof!
The owner was always responsive to my emails and follow up questions. We have future projects in mind (mudroom, bathroom and kitchen updates) and we will definitely give JM Remodeling a call!

JM Remodeling has done many projects for me and I highly recommend them for any home improvement you need done. They replaced 4 roofs for myself and my family. They did a great job installing tile in my basement as well as installing a door and doing some insulation projects. Fair prices and excellent workmanship. I will never hire another company.

Have been waiting for a quote for over a month. I was told I would have a quote within the next 3 days since it was such a "small" job. I have called the office 3 times and have been told I will get a call "right back" that was 2 weeks ago. Nobody has contacted me, no follow up calls, no thank you for your patience. NOTHING. Customer satisfaction is not at the top of their priority list that's for sure!

JM Remodeling did a siding job for us that nobody else was interested in doing because it was not for the entire house. They also fixed a small roof problem, again, that nobody would quote because it was a small job, (and they fixed it without charge, since they were already there). They were very professional and did an excellent job on our siding.
We were more than satisfied, so when we had a leak from the chimney of our fireplace, we again called them. They came out within a week and did a very professional job. Their pricing was also reasonable. We would highly recommend them to anybody and will call them again if the need arises.
